After wondering around Waikiki's backstreets, dodging tourists and prostitutes, we were starting to sour on Honolulu. And then we found Wang Chungs, a bedroom-sized karaoke joint, at the back of an otherwise inconspicuous alley. We walked in at 11 pm, not knowing a soul in the place, and stumbled out at 2 pm with the entire bar in a drunken, happy chorus line. Last night I celebrated my birthday and this was the perfect place to start the night off right! The bartenders were wondeful, sexy and super friendly; they even sang a song for me (the Best part of my night! Haha) The drink specials were tasty and reasonably priced- I had the key lime pie and lychee-tini -yum! The place is tiny but in all honesty it actually adds to the friendly and open atomosphere among the patrons. I come for brunch often on Sunday's for the flowing mimosas and food with a group of friends. It's a good deal especially for how many mimosas I drink! My wife and I visited Wang Chung's on honeymoon several weeks back. This place was awesome and everyone in there went out of their way to make us feel at home. The owner of the bar, Dan, ran out in the middle of our visit to purchase lei's for us which was an amazing gesture (they were not cheap either!). Cory, the bartender, was extremely polite and made us several free drinks in honor of our wedding. Wang Chung's is a little hard to find as it is located in an alley on Koa Ave. If you enjoy karaoke, or even just a great atmosphere, this is definitely a must stop place if you come to Waikiki. Planned to get a quick drink and then go to dinner -- ended up hanging for a couple hours a blowing off dinner. We thought we were going to go out for one drink and ended up staying for three. This bar was fantastic. We were greated by the employees upon entering and were referred to by name the rest of the night. The drinks were the best I've ever had, especially the jalapeño margarita and key lime pie. We were also given a complimentary piece of sweet potato haupia pie which was as delicious as it was unexpected. The karaoke was a blast and everyone seemed to really get into it. The owner, the bartenders, and the atmosphere is great! Some nights, you have to put in songs before midnight because there are so many people putting in songs so if you like to sing, get there early. I believe there is free singing before 8 p.m. each night before they charge $1 per song. There are some great drink specials as well as other drinks created only at Wang Chung's. The pupu (appetizer in Hawaiian) are really good. I like to park by the Honolulu Zoo, which is $1/hour - very convenient and very affordable parking. You can pay cash, debit/credit card to the Zoo parking meter, but have correct change. read more

This gives the place a very local feel, though the crowd is in actuality a mix of tourists and locals. When the place is less crowded, the bartender offers to sing along with you if your hesitant. Never knew there was a karaoke bar hidden in Waikiki! The name of the bar just made me want to explore more and reviews on Yelp confirms it is definitely a fun place to be. All the bar tenders and the owner himself are super nice. We didn't try their food but we had a Moscow Mule and it was tasty and l loved it.
