Car passed smog without issues, but then he fails it, accusing me of tampering with cold air intake and putting an aftermarket cold air intake, I told him this is stock from the factory and he said I need to provide CARB number, again I tell him he's full of $hit and he doesn't know that the car is a limited edition and he doesn't know what the hell he's doing and it came like that and it does not have or require a CARB number. He then proceeds to show me pictures off ebay of aftermarket cold air intakes. I tell him it's not the same and how would it pass if I have aftermarket without it being showing that the computer was reprogrammed? He did not answer, I proceed to show him websites from 15 years ago showing the car from write ups with the same cold air intake. I take it to the dealership and they proceed to prove it's factory, but they can't print the smog report because they are not STAR and he flagged it in STAR. I go back to him and show him the print outs from the dealership service proving the car is stock and he said he will never pass this car. I go to another STAR place and no one wants to touch it, I contacted the BAR Referee to explain to them with documented proof that the car is an original limited edition. I have a scheduled onsite inspection this week. $hit service, $hit person, cost me more than just a $60 inspection. The place needs to be audited by the State and I filed a complaint with BAR. read more

Well I have been here for an hour and two people who have arrived after me have already been served and left. It has been sitting in the left bay. He also likes to multi task. So if you beat everyone here early and a line develops, he will stop working on yours to set the others up so he can move faster. So to cut to the chase if u arrive earlier than others and others show up you will have to wait. Last time it took 20 mins now I'm at an hr and counting. We used to come here before and paid $50 for a smog check. Mr. Chen always told me that he gave me a discount for using his own coupon, and he seemed nice. The service was quick if there was no one around. The last time I came here, mine was the first car, then came another man who may be the owner's acquaintance, so he pulled that car in first. I waited for a while, feeling disregarded, so I left. But thanks to that, I found a better smog check place (Piedras Smog Test Only--also in Walnut) with better price and service. Was I Initially going to another smog station I've used in the past, when I came across this place on the way. I decided to give them a try to get my my Jeep Grand Cherokee smog test done. My husband usually is the one to take our vehicles but he didn't have time this day. So I took my son with me. The gentleman there had no wait and took the jeep in and connected it to some computer. Minutes later states that we had reset the code, and yes I confirmed that. My son had reset the engine light code because it goes on once in a while due to gas cap leak of some sort. I, not being very mechanical and knowing these things, didn't know once I do a reset, that I need to drive it around first. So my jeep got a fail and he stated there were codes appearing for the problem that was preventing it from passing. I already knew the issue was with the gas cap. So he said we could drive around and bring it back within 20 days. I paid for the smog and we would be back within 20 days. This was on a Monday July 18. Friday July 29 came and I had my son take it back to try again, no engine light had come back on. The jeep was driven around town all week and even on the highway to chino area and a surrounding areas. My son came back home and he said he was told he needed to drive it some more that there were still the reset appearing and codes on it. As soon as my son told me when he got home, my husband said it was fine, we were on our way to Inglewood anyways and the drive in the last week plus our drive today to Inglewood would be enough to see if the engine light returns. Saturday July 30, today, my husband now takes it there himself and still they told him there was codes even though the engine light was not on. My husband at this point was annoyed because our 20 days are going to be up soon and we are every busy , so he voiced that to the guy at the shop. My husband was told to drive it some more, AGAIN. So my husband being upset over this took my Jeep down the street ( sorry don't have the name on me) to where he has taken our cars before. They put it in and behold it PASSED! My husband payed for another smog and banned me from ever taking it to walnut smog. Im happy it passed now with no issues. I don't know if this guy at this place was just wanting us to lose our 20 days re-test so he can charge us again smh. I will never come here or recommend this place to anyone. What BS. Smh read more

I can't believe how hard it was to find a decent smog check place around this area. A search on Yelp turned up a few autoshops that don't even perform the inspection. When I stopped by one autoshop in Diamond Bar for an inspection, they had me wait 40 minutes only to tell me their machine wasn't functionally any more, argg! I dropped by the place at lunch on a Wednesday and was out the door in 20 minutes. The place can test 2 cars at once, and doesn't perform any other service (to my knowledge). The total bill came out to $48 including smog check and certificate, and included a $10 discount that the guy gave me without any prompting. Bottom line is that if you're stuck around this mind numbing suburban wasteland and need your for biennial check to register your car, you'll find quick no hassle service at this little joint. read more

People, the time it takes to get in and out depends on how many cars are ahead of you, time of day, etc. It's best to call ahead and see how long the wait is and if it's not satisfactory to you, go when it isn't so busy! I called first and the guy said there was only 1 car there. Quickly got there, done in 15 min. Painless and good to go. They sent the cert electronically. I'll definitely go there again. read more

I bring all 4 cars I have to this place. It's close by to where I live and also has plenty of things to do while you wait. There's a Starbucks and Ten Ren's nearby with wifi and drinks. If you're hungry, there's Mexican food, Subway, everything you want to keep busy for the hour. Even when there are a few people in the office or in line I never had to wait longer than an hour. The main person who works there is so hardworking and never stops. He doesn't take breaks in between cars since I see him take one car in and work on the other car while waiting and so on. Prices are totally fair and I can't find any reason not to recommend this stellar place to all my friends and yelpers. Seriously as good as it gets! read more

I got my car smogged here last year and I'm just getting around to writing the review. First of all, I couldn't figure out if where I was supposed to line up my car so I parked in front and walked into the WRONG auto shop office. It's not like it's clearly labeled anyway the people in there were really nice and told me I had to drive around the back past the car wash and the office to the Test Only Smog Center would be in the back. I didn't have an appointment but I didn't waiting more than 45 minutes for my car to be tested. They had some outdoor chairs you can sit on and there is a CLEAN restroom. I had my dog with me so we just walked up and down the streets in the little business park. If you bring your kids with you there is really no place for them to run around. Anyway, once my car pulled into the bay it took like 15 more minutes for the testing then I was done. I think it was like $48 for everything. I'd totally go back. I'd never taken my car to be smogged before and I was nervous but they shop guys were really nice. Taking your car to be smogged here is a quick and easy experience. read more

All they do and was in and out 30 min top. Not helpful, friendly, or informative. When asked if they electronically send the report to DMV and normal, guy says, "You bring there". "Don't you send it?" "You give to them". "So you don't do it anymore?" They take care. " Asian on Asian crime. I've been coming here for a few years to do smog checks on my family's cars. I've always seen the same guy, presumably the owner, and he is fast and efficient. You don't need an appointment but I suggest calling ahead to check if he is busy. Weekdays are less busy and in the afternoon you can usually be done in 15-20 minutes. He accepts credit cards and doesn't charge a fee. My most recent visit was $48.00 for a 2005 Scion. He offers a free retest which is typical of these places and I've taken advantage of this without a problem. As for downsides, while the price is competitive you might be able to save a few bucks elsewhere. Also, the place is pretty dirty even for an automotive shop. Luckily there are chairs outside so you don't normally need to go inside except to pay. read more

So I ended up at the wrong place. It's kinda weird, don't drive into the first driveway even if it does have the same address and says SMOG CENTER..it's behind the car wash. When I first walked in there was this old breezie that looked like she hated working at her husband's shop. I was thinking "geez what happened to the good yelp reviews about customer service...did I come in an off day and got the lady with a stick up her flat a**?!" then her husband came out to inform me I have to drive around to the back. I guess they share the same car port. Whatever it is, I got great, efficient service. There was a car ahead of me but I was done in less than 30 minutes and it was fairly cheap. Pretty painless. Was in and out in 45 min. The guy was nice. And yes, it's true- don't turn into the first driveway where you'll see the car wash (even though they share the same 319 address). Keep going straight a little more past the car wash and in next left turn you'll see a sign that says Walnut Smog Test Only. Turn in there and they're all the way in the back. read more

Quick service. Got there with no appointment, and there were no cars in front of me. I was out the door in about 35 mins. Paid $48. I don't know if that's cheap or expensive compared to other places. When I first arrived I pulled up into the wrong side and had to drive around, wouldn't have been too bad but the street was being worked on. I walked in no appointment and the guy helped me right away, not very good at communicating with me, so when I was trying to ask questions he did not really respond. Test was quick and I passed first try. Price was good, $49.72 for the test and $8. 28 for the certificate,total of $58 even. In and out in less than 20 minutes, but mostly because I was the only car there when I arrived. Overall the guy, Chien, was nice but not very good at talking. Got there at around 8:40 am on a Saturday and was out of there by 9:10 am with two cars before me. Prompt service with the Olympics playing in the waiting area! I've been here twice now over the past couple years and will continue to return for there no-gimmick service. Steve (the "cashier") is a nice guy.
