I stopped by Friday afternoon for a smog check. The staff were friendly and I was in and out in 15 minutes. The price is the same as others in the area. The lot is small but there's street parking around the corner if you want to check in before bringing your car around (that's what I did). Plus the waiting area has a nicely kept fish tank. There hasn't been a question or a Repair that him or his staff at his shop could not repair. As of yet, of course I have four cars all of which he has worked on when I mentioned he it also includes his staff and have never had to take anything back, even though the option was presented and available as he stated . I called a few smog check places and this one is very close by and they told me that it's $38 for smog check with certificate! Some places charge $50 or more for smog check so I would say this is the best deal in the neighborhood. I got there when they opened at 9 and they took less than 20 mins to get the job done! easy peasy! FYI: there's a small fee if you pay by credit card. I didn't know coz they didn't tell me but it's no big deal. It's close to $40 total. I would go back if my car needs smog check again. read more

Vinny was a great help. Brought my car in because of the catalyst monitor shows that it is not ready. Will not pass smog. Drove it myself trying the drive cycles mentioned on the internet still no use. Brought it to Vinny and he got it monitor ready and passed the smog for me. It saved me a lot of time and trouble. I called 3-4 smog check places in the area and places ranged from $45 to $60. I used to get smog checks done at whatever place my dad has been going to without second thought, but after reading some bad reviews of the place I had been going to for the past few years, I decided to take to Yelp. Lesson learned: definitely price shop for a smog test, because all it is is a measurement hose being attached to your car to read smog/emissions levels. Nothing fancy is done, and the job is a quick one. It should NOT cost as much as $60...ridiculous. D V Smog Pros charges a total of $38.20, which is significantly lower than competitors in the area. Mind you, this price INCLUDES the cost of the STAR certificate. Most other shops start at like $35 for just the smog test itself and charge $10 for the certificate. The service was quick too -- I was there for like 10 minutes probably (I went on a weekday morning though). Will be back here and recommend this place to people in the area. read more

Vinny, the owner, does not try to get you to buy additional repairs by using scare tactics, like I've encountered at other shops. Fair prices and my minivan is always ready when they promise. Expensive smog check. They gave me a quote of $52.99. Instead, I went to a nearby smog check station and got it done for $30.

This guy Vinh is not to be trusted. Gave diagnosis on repairs needed to pass smog and one; price was outrageous, two; took car to another more trusted shop and they discovered repairs needed were not of what was diagnosed by Vinh. He not only will reimburse for the misdiagnosis but there is no flexibility whatsoever on his price and won't even waive the diagnosis fee if we had done the work at his shop. This is so customary in all shops and he wouldn't even offer this, which is why I took the car down the street in the first place. read more

This is not about their workmanship since I didn't let them work on the car. This is more about thier price and maybe ethic and honesty. Wife took her mom's car in after it failed smog check, and received state $500 voucher for low income subsidy. Wife's language skill is not the best, but I sure hope that was not the reason DV tried to take advantage of people. DV Smog quoted her $1800 to repair "Smog Check Failure" related issues, so her out of pocket will be $1300 after State $500 voucher. I declined his service after I talked to him(Vinny, I think). I contacted another CA DMV listed approved smog repair shop (Mobile in Diamond Bar) for my in-law, and explain my situation, and he said $500 voucher should cover the cost of the repair with a co-pay of $130. 3 hours later, car was fixed, and passed Smog Check. If you go DV to do repair work, make sure you know what you are doing. Do you due dilligent research. read more
