Advance Auto Smog Star has been my go-to place for all my smog check needs for more than 10 years. That kind of loyalty doesn't happen by accident. Moe is always professional, friendly, honest, and very accommodating. Customer service is consistently top tier, and he always makes the process easy, quick, and hassle-free. It's nice having a local business you can trust and confidently come back to year after year. If you're looking for reliable smog service and excellent customer care, I highly recommend Moe and Advance Auto Smog Star. - aka Rico read more

I highly recommend Mo and his shop for anyone who loves to keep old cars running. I have a 1987 Volkswagen Cabriolet that's not perfect -- I do most of the maintenance myself. And as a hobby mechanic, sometimes my work only makes sense to me. But Mo took the car in, listened to my explanations of some of its idiosyncrasies (won't hold an idle until warm, the rad fan is manually toggled... you know sh*tbox stuff) and performed the smog. What I felt at his shop was that I felt valued as a customer, not just a nuisance hobby mechanic looking for a professional to clean up their mess. He was kind, patient and got the car to pass. Will be coming back with my other sh*tbox Volkswagen. read more

needed a smog for my truck and stopped in here Gave them my renewal form and within 30 minutes I was pulling out with my paperwork and dmv had already received my paperwork via their machine. Moe was courteous, kind, professional and communicated well. I'd bring my trucks back here again! Value was the state rate of 51.70. Thank You read more

Great customer services and pricing. I called a few Saturdays ago, about 15 mins right before closing time and spoke with Moe, the shop owner. He told me to swing by and that he would stay open to do a smog check for me. Sure enough I showed up and he got the job done! I highly recommend this shop. I would definitely go back to get work done. read more

Honest, Friendly Service I wanted to share my experience because finding an honest repair shop is so important. The shop is located a little off a busy street, and as a woman by myself, I have to admit I was a little intimidated at first and wasn't even sure where I was supposed to park. But from the moment I was helped, I felt much more comfortable. The person who helped me was incredibly friendly, patient, and took the time to explain everything to me in a way I could understand. I had originally taken my car somewhere else and was told that it didn't pass the smog check. I brought it here expecting that I would need repairs. Instead, he reran the smog test and told me that my car actually passed! He could have easily taken advantage of the situation and charged me for repairs I didn't need, but he chose to be honest with me. That says a lot about the kind of business they are. I really appreciate the honesty, kindness, and great customer service. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for a trustworthy place to have their car serviced! read more

Called Moe to see if he would be open for an appointment on Labor Day. He answered right away and met me at the shop. I asked him for the cost of a smog test over the phone and he gave me the exact out-the-door price of $49.95. In addition to this, his prices are listed in his shop for before 2000s cars and diesel vehicles. He printed a copy of my receipt and a copy of my passed inspection on the same paper. He takes cash, zelle, or card (there's a processing fee with card). You can also book appointments online which is super convenient. Highly recommend visiting Moe for his professionalism, friendliness, and transparency. Thank you so much for seeing me on a holiday, Moe!! read more

Quick, full service with dmv registration and tags received on the same visit! Honest and I'll definitely be back! read more

I visited Advanced Auto Smog because my 2018 Honda Pilot finally needed a smog check to be registered. I searched Yelp for places near me. Although it was not the closest to my home, this was the only place with a full 5 star rating and virtually no complaints. While I had to wait my turn, Mo was very friendly and he got me out quickly. This is a small place that does other auto repairs as well. I'll be back here next time. Thanks Mo for friendly and great service. read more

I did not have an appointment, and they were done with my car within half an hour. The technician was very friendly, and he explained everything about my smog test clearly. The price for the service was reasonable and comparable to any smog check service. I have found my new, permanent smog place. Went for a smog check and it passed by fast. Moe was friendly & even offered to print out the tags for me!

Don't hesitate to take your car here. Most mechanics and smog shops are shady so I took mine to Advance Auto when I saw all the 5 star reviews. The owner Moe took my car in right away and gave me the entire rundown. I needed my old Japanese car fixed to pass smog and had applied for CAP smog assistance which helps cover a portion of the costs. Typically a shop would take advantage of that and overcharge you but Moe was extremely honest, upfront and trustworthy. Any time there something would need to be done he would call and ask for approval that way there was transparency with what I was paying for. When I asked for an estimate for a particular repair he was straightforward and told me the exact cost. Not only that, but they handled taking my car to another shop to get a new catalytic converter installed. I had been expecting to pay way over $600 but only ended up paying $200 for the entire repair. They quick and reliable and it was also a very good deal. I recommend going here if you need smog or any repair assistance!! These people are professionals and will work with you to get anything done. read more

This is the 3rd time I brought my mother-in-law's 2002 Corolla in for a smog test. The last time it had a bad vacuum leak in the gas tank and they did a great job repairing it. This year it was a bad Mass Air Flow Sensor. They allowed me to give them my own part to replace it and did all the installation and testing and driving 50 miles etc and got it passed. They went above and beyond to get my car DMV ready and they are my go to spot for smogging her car. I'm glad I found them and I recommend it to anyone having issues with their car when smogging. If you have a check engine light do not get it smogged go here instead and let them test it with a meter and diagnose it first. Then get the issue fixed and test after. Testing for smog with a check engine light on is throwing money down the drain because it will always fail smog. Thank you again Advanced Auto Smog Star! read more

I was lucky to find Moe... after going to several places and spending thousands to fix and pass smog... Moe helped me step by step so that my car fixed all the leaks.. it took long BUT at least it was honest and reasonable cost for repairs that solved my problem that other 3 spots did not. Very reliable and flexible hours too. read more

Today I had my smog check at Advanced & as always the owner Moe was so friendly and accommodating. After several years as a return customer Moe remains the nice honest man he is - his service is a priority for him & even checks on you the customer as you wait-he also keeps customers informed of the progress on your car; Moe is not afraid to be nice to his customers which is such a rarity these days. He is organized with the DMV paperwork, nice & neat when returned to you - he gets the customer in and out of his shop, does not keep you sitting around waiting. I was referred to Moe by my mechanic who is across the street. He was super friendly and helpful with my SMOG check. I had planned to go to AAA after to pay my registration, but Moe was able to help me with that and offered me a lower price since I had just done my SMOG check!
