Great smog check service, did not take long. Price was less than what I've paid in the past. Will come back again.

1983 Toyota Pickup truck. Failed smog check at a different check only station. That other place's technician gave me suggestions that turned out to be non-effective as it failed again. My personal mechanic referred me to Advanced Auto Smog. Moe quickly figured out that the primary issue was the vacuum sensor going to the EGR as one of the ports was broken off and the vacuum system was essentially disabled. However, the part was not available from any local supplier but he helped me identify a possible solution from Ebay. It worked out and he was able to also fix the clogged vacuum tubes that filled up because it being run without being connected. The best part about the experience was that Moe was willing to work with me and take me step by step and he assisted when it looked like we couldn't find the part. In the future, I will not be going to a test-only place and will have all my smog checks done by a true smog professional, Moe. read more

i called to ask a question on a recent smog check done on 2/19 at 10am on a car. i spoke to a man who was incredibly rude. as soon as i asked him my question about the report, all he would tell me is "it's good, so no need for any questions" and kept brushing me off. i tried explaining to him the situation and he told me since i wasn't the one who went in, it shouldn't matter to me. then the call dropped. a couple minutes later he calls me back and starts to chew me out about the dropped call. i let him know that the dropped call was not my fault and had let it be, then as i once again tried explaining to him the reasoning for my call in the first place he told me "don't be asking me these questions. i gave the man a good deal" he kept reiterating the "gave him a good deal" part. and so at that point i just told him that i'd be hanging up. i've never had such an unpleasant and unprofessional conversation with someone. all i had called for was to have two simple questions answered. here's the info on the man i spoke with. Once again Moe's, Advanced Auto Smog Star Service Facility came through as usual in both labor & price for my 1996 Chevy 3/4 ton pick-up truck. Even being by himself and holding the fort, Moe got it done! You won't fine a more professional, reasonable, conscientious, Master Certified, Smog Inspector Technician than he. He's the best in the San Gabriel Valley, Glendora area. And he comes highly recommended by his colleagues. My #1 go to Automotive Technician, Owner. See you next time Moe! I recently bought an older pick up truck, not thinking about why it was such a great bargain, which I found out when it came time to register it. It turned out that my nice little pick up truck had not been smog checked since 2017. Long story long, needless to say my little inexpensive truck did not pass its smog check. Then I found Advanced Auto Smog on Yelp and what a find, It was usually a long and expensive road to get any of my cars repaired so they can pass smog check. But Moe told me exactly what needed to get repaired and in no time my little truck passed its smog check and got registered. Bring your car to Advance Auto Smog, Moe will take good care of you. read more

Moe, thank you for your service. Moe is the shop owner and amazing person who helped me run a smog check. It took him 15 minutes for me to get in and out.. From where I was at the time, moe was actually one of the further locations to get a smog check but after reading the reviews about Moe's, I drove the extra mile to see him and I'm glad I did. Very professional gentleman and will offer to water multiple times (I didn't take his offer at first but he was persistent lol) Thanks Moe. I'll be back soon and recommending your spot! "I'm in business to make money. I'm not in business to rip people off." I think that tells you all you need to know. Found Moe through other yelpers after my car didn't pass its smog inspection and the state's consumer assistance program gave me a list of approved vendors. You yelpers helped me realize how many bad repair shops there are. This shop was out of my way, but worth the effort. Good vibes from the first phone call. Ultimately, my car isn't worth fixing. Moe could've taken my money and run, but he was honest and straight up with me. He even called after the fact to give me a referral for a friend who buys used cars at auction. Class act. read more

Came again this past Saturday for smog check after 2 years . After Moe fixed my very complicated smog check not passing 2 years ago . Again went to 3-4 different smog stations including Honda & Moe was the only one that could fix it . But this past Saturday was very busy but Moe made sure he accommodated me. But this time passed w/ flying colors & after he even moved my car out so I can drive it out of the shop easily . He gives you info about triple a down the street so you can obtain the registration sticker right away .. This will be my smog check station from now on . Cannot get this kind of service anywhere else & reasonably priced . read more

We were in town for Thanksgiving for the week, and we found out my dad's old car needed a SMOG check. With the help of Yelp, we contacted Moe at the Advanced Auto Smog Star. Moe asked all of the detailed questions about the car over the phone in advance, to ensure he was able to service the vehicle before taking on the work. More importantly, he was extremely accommodating to our limited time there, which was a huge help. Moe was very professional, courteous and provided excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him, and highly recommend him to others. Advanced Auto Smog Star is well located at the Shell gas station - so it was easy for us to find it. read more
