My car needed both low beams replaced, an oil change and a tune up. Matt was quick to provide me with a quote that was reasonable. Scheduling the appointment was easy. Brought my car in, went over some paperwork and was told I'd be contacted once the inspection was complete. Sure enough Matt called me to let me know there were some items found during inspection and which ones needed to be addressed right away. After agreeing to the updated quote they got to work. I came back to the shop prior to being told my car was ready, and I think there may have been a delay in getting parts needed (dropped the car off at 9am, wasn't done until 4pm). I requested a quote through Yelp and my request was sent to multiple auto shops. I chose this company based on location and called ahead to confirm they could do more than just read basic codes. I had already done my own diagnostics and knew the car was running rich. I had ruled out the upstream O2 sensor, catalytic converter (both new), MAP sensor, and fuel injectors. I explained all of this to Matt before bringing the car in. He assured me they could perform deeper diagnostics with their equipment. After dropping off the car, Matt called and told me they had "confirmed" exactly what I had already told them, and that the next step would be pulling spark plugs--for an additional fee. At that point, I decided to go elsewhere. What I don't understand is why I was still charged the full $85 diagnostic fee, plus a $4 hazardous materials fee and $3 shop supply fee. Plugging a car into a diagnostic scanner does not generate any hazardous waste--no fluids are drained, no chemicals are used, and no parts are replaced. There's nothing about a basic scan that would justify a hazardous materials charge. That kind of fee typically applies when disposing of things like oil, coolant, or other regulated waste, none of which occurred here. In the end, I paid $92, wasted time and gas, and learned nothing new. The most concerning part was Matt admitting he didn't even know spark plugs would need to be checked as part of further diagnosis. read more

I have a pain in the a** 2007 crossfire convertible. I can no longer automatically lower the top. I contacted Patrick's auto center and asked them if I can bring it in and they can take a look at it. I was able to bring it in right away. It took them about a day and they figured out what was wrong with it. Unfortunately, because this car is old and like I said a pain in the a**they're unable to locate the part. So guess how much they charged me to diagnose the issue I'm having with my car... Zero!!! I couldn't believe it. They gave me the paperwork that showed me which parts that I need to replace in order to get the top to work and didn't charge me anything. There are not a lot of places out there that would do this. I was so happy. Any type of car issue that I have I will always try Patrick's first they are quality people. I was having issues with my AC and suspected it might be the compressor. Patrick greeted me warmly and quickly diagnosed the issue just by turning on the car. He was kind enough to waive the inspection fee since the problem was immediately clear. To my surprise, he called me just 30 minutes later to let me know they could have the car ready by the next day, Saturday at 3 PM. The next day, he called again around noon. They had finished the initial repair but discovered that the evap valve was also faulty. Patrick didn't hesitate--he ordered the part, disassembled everything again, completed the repair, and still had the car ready for me by 3 PM as promised. That level of service is rare. Their work was exceptional, and the pricing was very reasonable for the amount of labor involved. About a month later, I noticed the AC wasn't working properly again. After taking our ford fusion with air conditioning issues to a mechanic and spending $250 and still no a/c and they seemed to not really care. So we took it to Patrick's after they diagnosed and fixed a couple of issues with the a/c system and it still wasn't working but a GOOD mechanic doesn't give up and leave their customers hanging. I honestly can't thank everyone at Patrick's Auto enough. My car has been riding rough for quite some time, and I couldn't figure it out what it was. I was passing by as it got significantly worse. So I pulled over right by their parking lot and got out to look at my car. One of the advisors seen me outside and asked me if everything was okay. So I explained what was going on. Turns out my car was about to have a tire blowout! I freaked out because I just didn't even know what to do at that point. After some time going back and forth with the Advisor I decided to let them take a closer look at it (I usually only go to dealerships). They tell me it happened because of a bad alignment, looked like I hit a bad pothole somewhere along the line. Both tires were peeling and needed to be replaced as well as an alignment. I was worried about replacing them because I drive a sports car so my tires are expensive. Thankfully my advisor Alecs was able to get me a great deal on my tires and he discounted the alignment so it could fit into my budget! I'm so so thankful that I get to keep driving safely on the road. I highly recommend anyone if they're looking for an honest and genuine business who actually care about their customers. I asked for an estimate on installing lowering springs online and they quoted $400 to $700. Later I went by the shop for an estimate to install a turbo inlet hose. They said $85. Took my car in 2 days later and the turbo hose install went up to $177. While there I again asked about the springs and that price went up to $1100. I asked who gave the online quote and the answer was, any of us here respond to those online quotes. Get the picture. Initial quotes are not honored and you have no idea until they look in "the book" and it gives them prices. I also got a long lecture about their liability installing after market parts so those transactions have to be in cash. I don't like being jerked around like that. It breeds mistrust. Be clear with quotes and honor what you say. The actual work seems ok, but I'm not going back. Sorry. read more
