I would give zero stars if I could. Took my car here because engine light was on. After doing a diagnostic, they called and said the problem is that I needed brakes, rotors and an oil change. When it was time to pick up the car the guy at the counter told me nonchalantly that the guys told him last minute that I needed tires next time I come in. The next day the engine light came back on and the car started jerking and almost stopped. I had it towed back to Patrick's Auto. The tow driver had noticed that my tires are extremely bad and can bust any minute. I had him tow it back to the shop for them to do another diagnostic test. I asked the guy to print out my diagnostic report they did from a few days ago. He said ok and handed me a paper. I looked at it and it was the receipt from last time, NOT the report. I told him this isn't it but he kept telling me it was. I was persistent and he FINALLY admitted that it wasn't the diagnostic report and says for some reason mine from a few days ago isn't in the system. Then he said the system hasn't been updated yet and he needed to go in the garage to plug the machine in. Why the lie??? He must have thought I was naive and would believe that the receipt was the report. Long story short, he FINALLY gave me a printout of the diagnostic that only had 2 lines of info. What was on there wasn't what they said I needed fixed the other day nor did they mention anything on that list. Only said I needed brakes, rotors and oil change. The brakes had nothing to do with the engine light turning on yet they told me I needed that done. Hmmm was it to have me get that work done, knowing I'd have to come back again for the actual engine light problem?!?!!!! People told me brakes don't show up on a diagnostic report and wondered why they told me that was the problem for the engine light coming on. I felt like I was being SCAMMED (it was obvious) so I called another tow driver to tow it to another place. This driver was afraid to hook my car up because the tires were extremely bad, about to bust. This is the second time that morning that someone notice how extremely bad the tires were. Yet Patrick's Auto never mentioned how serious they were when I first brought my car in a few days ago. Extremely dangerous to drive!!! Why would they do that to their customers???? I will NEVER take my car there!!!!! Terrible place and unfortunate that they do this to people. I do NOT recommend. read more

I went in to have everything checked on my car before driving a long distance. They said everything looked great. I specifically asked to check belts and everything under the hood . They said it was all good however less than 30 days later the belt broke my axel needed to be replaced and my brakes. All the noises I had been hearing that they told me were normal ! Definitely do not trust their judgement when needing to drive long distances. read more

I had an electrical issue and I had spent over 500$ at other shops that did and could not fix the problem and when I called other shops they said just go back to the shops that were working on it. I ended up calling Patrick's and his employees were very helpful and took notice to all the information I had regarding the problem and they discovered the issue was a wiring harness and unfortunately they could not find one to replace the harness because they don't make it anymore but when putting the old one back in they seem to have fixed the issue for at least. In doing that I know they were on the right track and 100% know what they are doing. They gave me updates along the way and I'm thankful I found an honest mechanic! read more

I am writing this review, so others are aware. I am extremely disappointed in the pride of workmanship completed at this shop. It did not surprise me to find that Patrick's Auto Center state license to operate is delinquent (3 months delinquent as of April 2023), as shown in the attached picture. You might be able to get an oil change with no problem, or tires rotated, but if you have anything complicated, or that requires troubleshooting, I recommend going elsewhere. I brought my F150, 5.4 in for an oil leak. It was accurately diagnosed as the timing cover. Since the labor was significant to take off the timing cover, I asked to have the entire timing set replaced at the same time (phasers, tensioners, VCT solenoids, chain, guides) and oil pump. I also asked to replace the rockers/lifters since they are notorious for going bad on this motor. I picked up the truck, it worked fine, but my truck was broken into, and a few items stolen, when parked outside for the 6 weeks it took to complete the work. I asked about the rockers, they were examined, and were considered fine. I was happy other than a plastic shield cover for the radiator that was not secured and just placed on top. I fixed this myself. Fast forward, 15,000 miles later, a ticking sound started at the first cylinder valve, I knew right away it was the rocker. I took the vehicle back, thinking, the labor should be discounted, since honestly, this should have been replaced while the engine was taken apart earlier. I asked to have the noise diagnosed, and disassembly began before estimating the cost. Patrick's confirmed it was the rocker/lifter, which had worn into the cam shaft. I understand the parts looked good at the time they were examined, but as a preventive measure, the rockers should have been replaced. The job was estimated at $2600, I was appalled at the price, and fortunately, had called around and received estimates to do this job. The rocker/lifters should cost $1,600 to replace. I mentioned this, and was told, Patrick's would do the job for $1,600. Although a relief, it made me uncomfortable at the informality of the estimated price. I got the truck back, after 4 weeks, and the engine was running extremely rough. I was told it is probably the motor mounts, but I mentioned that the car ran very smooth when I brought it in, and the only problem was the ticking sound, so how could it be the motor mounts? I received no real answers. I took the car home and found the inside of the engine compartment drenched in oil. I used two cans of degreaser to clean it up. Uncomfortable about the quality of workmanship, and length of time to complete repairs, I took it elsewhere to be diagnosed. At the second shop, the truck was connected to a diagnostic computer, and found the power balance was off, engine misfiring, and had a lack of power. The owner of the second shop offered to call Patrick's to speak with him about the findings and said Patrick's should honor the work they completed. The diagnosis from the second shop was that it was most likely the timing, which appeared to be set incorrectly. The owner of the second shop called Patrick's and the two talked, I then took it back to Patrick's for further examination. After another week and a half at Patrick's, I was told that it cannot be the timing since there were no codes, I asked for alternative issues that would cause the misfiring shown in the power balance test and was told that it would have to be taken apart again, and that I would be charged labor if it was not the fault of Patrick's. At this point I had no faith that I would get a straight answer, and ultimately would end up paying for labor, again. Patrick recommended I take it to the Ford Dealer, since they were out of ideas. As Patrick recommended, I went elsewhere, and the findings were disappointing. The timing, set completed by Patrick's was off by a link, this was the source of the rough idle and lack of power. When I mentioned the timing was off, and produced pictures, to show it was off, I no longer received any response from Patrick's. I had the other shop do the work over again, and now the truck runs like new. In retrospect, there are too many signs to ignore this shop is in trouble. The delinquent license, length of time to complete work, and lack of attention to detail, and lack of effort to make things right are a problem. Reconsider before using this shop. read more

I was traveling from California to Texas when I had issues with my spark plugs and transmission. Patrick did exactly what I asked (the least that could be done to get my car running safely) without overcharging me. He did not try to upsell me or sell things that were not done knowing that I was going out of town and would not be able to come back. One of the few honest vendors with integrity that I have seen these days. Horrible! Do not take your car here! My mother took her car in almost 2 months ago and her warranty paid them over 7k and they still have not fixed it. They tried scamming her saying to replace the engine but then when she stated she was picking up the car and taking it somewhere else, they said they can fix it. Now they are using the excuse that it still has a code. BS!! I am getting a lawyer involved and I have all documentation of when she called him, when my husband called them and who they talked to over the phone with every excuse. Excuses that Patrick is not in, or the mechanic that is working on it is not in and they have different stories everytime you call. Even the warranty said to take the car out of that place. Our warranty has my mother's car done within 2 weeks everytime she had to take it in during the past 4 yrs. Plus they want my mother to pay over $1,200 up front for additional labor after the car is done but yet it is not fixed. Saying it runs smooth but THEY haven't drove it. How is that possible? But there is still a code. They tried playing with the wrong one (my mother) when her daughter knows all the rights she has and I am getting my lawyer involved. They will not scam her. read more

Being a classic car owner, there aren't many reputable mechanic shop options. Although I'm a first time customer, I can appreciate how many of PAC customers have experienced excellent service. What's odd to me is how anyone would submit any review less than 5-Stars! Anyway, from the time I called to schedule an appointment (talked with Andy) to meeting the mechanic that actually worked on the car, Aaron, I realized this is the shop for my car! I come to Patrick's Auto Center by accident, I was actually going to another mechanic because I had a quotes for my repair . I had the owner Patrick to help me . I told him that I need to replace a new starter on my car and then I told him I drove to wrong place. He was so nice. I ask if he would price compare car repair from the other place , so that I didn't need to go to another place and he say's yes ! I was sold on that because he made my life less stress that day . I ask if he can check my car entirely because I do drive 30 miles to work and his answer was yes too ! He did call me later to let me know that I had valve leak on my engine. Thank God he fixes 2 of my problems on my car that I really needed . I really think , I was sent there for reasons. This is the second time my husband and I have brought our vehicles here. The first time we brought in our Dodge avenger, and Patrick took wonderful care of us and our vehicle, and was very responsive and honest with us for the entire process. This past week I had to bring in my Ford expedition and as a woman, it's really hard to find a good mechanic shop that doesn't try to do you dirty and sell you things that you don't need and Andy was a phenomenal help with that the past couple days. I've lived in the Redlands area the last 3 years, and I still drive the 50+ miles to have my car taken care of at Patrick's (or towed when necessary lol). At first Patrick seemed like a 'good guy' but that "love of money' changes people. I brought my car in for an oil change and the check engine light was on. So, Patrick repaired it sum $230 late ... I thought "good" ... BUT after just 3-weeks the 'check-engine' light came back on, so instead of going to my destination, I took it back to Patrick. He stated that they were not going to 'fix' what I had already paid for, and then stated that: "replacing the engine would work" ... GREAT ... But "no thank you" ... Patrick's reply for not fixing something that I had already paid for, was: "replace the engine" ... WTFreak is that!!! Dishonest shop, be careful! I went this place for a four-wheel alignment and I almost got scammed by them. Patrick said they did 4-wheel alignment on my car but the picture of the computer report he sent me was not even my car's. It was someone else report. I called and asked him to send me the report of my car, he had a bunch of excuses and asked me to stop by the shop again instead. I went there and they did the alignment under my surveillance and apparently my car wasn't aligned at all in the first place. This is a very unpleasant experience and this place is very untrustworthy. Just be careful doing business with this shop. read more
