Advanced Auto Smog Star - Inside - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Glendora, California

Absolutely the best smog vheck and repair in the area. They are honest, reliable, and do great work. We have had multiple cars smog checked here, and more importantly repaired. One car, a 1990 Integra, had failed, but the folks at Advanced worked with us to remediate all issues. They even helped us to work with state programs to keep the cost down. If you live in the area, this is THE PLACE TO GO. Thank you, Moe! read more

I had a difficult one. A 1979 Camaro needed to pass SMOG before I could transfer ownership and re-register it. I found Moe at Advanced Auto SMOG Star after an exhaustive area search of local test/repair centers. He had loads of five star reviews. When I called, he imediately said "No problem, bring it in." No hesitation. When I got there, he slowly explained the process and laid out the costs involved. After I failed the initial SMOG Test, Moe really went the extra mile. He identified several emissions parts I needed and explained why I needed them. We did our best to find OEM parts. Not an easy task for a vehicle from 1979. WooHoo! We passed the second SMOG Test. I realize Moe couldn't possibly give me a guarantee it would pass, but he worked diligently to make it happen. He even did an oil change for me as it was smoking a bit, just in case. The other thing is, he's always available to answer questions and he keeps you updated on the progress. Even if it hadn't passed, I would have known that Moe did all he could. I'll go nowhere else for SMOG Tests. I highly recommend Advanced Auto SMOG Star Test and Repair Center. Go ahead, give Moe a call....even for the hard ones... read more

My 1990 Toyota pick up truck had already failed smog twice. I brought it to this shop since it had such great reviews. I am very glad I made this decision Jessie and Moe took care of me, they found what was wrong and for a very reasonable price fixed it they even found a loose spark plug wire and a mass airflow sensor that had been inproperly reinstalled and repaired that for no charge these guys are awesome. If you're looking for a true technician not a parts exchanger these are your guys they won't try to penny pinch you for every nickel they can get, very honest shop. I highly recommend this place and will be bringing any emissions related work for myself and family to them from now on, try them you won't be disappointed. read more

I brought my car to Moe after failing two smog checks at "test only" stations. During the duration of my car being at his shop, I found him to be responsive, honest, and helpful. These are attributes that are not always found at mechanic's shops, as we all know. Moe and his helper Jesse found that my thermostat was malfunctioning, and I then realized this had been an issue for several years; very thankful for their diagnosis. They also found my mass air flow sensor to have issues. After replacing these two parts, my car finally passed smog. Throughout the process, Moe called often with updates and was very responsive when I called him on a few occasions. He was very accountable. He also took time to explain the process and answer any questions I had. He never made me feel like I was "inconveniencing" him, as many do. I felt as though I was making a new friend the longer we corresponded. Let's face it, having your car in a shop for any reason, is not a situation you look forward to, but I have to say, Moe made the situation as comfortable as possible and had me thankful when it was over that I had chosen Advanced Auto Smog Star to perform my repairs. read more

My car was having issues passing the California smog test at one of the location San Gabriel Valley "smog test only" locations. I received a recommendation from a friend to see Moe (at Advanced Auto Smog Star) for my smog check. It definitely was the best recommendation I've received in years for automotive support. If you're in a situation where your car isn't passing smog (like myself) and you can't receive a straight answer on what the actual problem is (and you're in San Gabriel Valley, CA), CALL MOE IMMEDIATELY! His shop is licensed for smog test and repair plus he's been handling this type of work for over 20 years. My experience with Moe proved that he was extremely knowledgeable, professional and most of all...he's an honest human being. Aside from providing me with a better insight on my car's smog situation, he showed me how he handles all his automotive clients in an ethical way and that's hard to find in the auto industry. If you have a concern that your car may not pass your smog test or it's already not passing smog somewhere else, take it to Moe and have him run a diagnostic test to ensure you're not set up to spend hundreds of dollars unnecessarily to an unlicensed mechanic who doesn't have the expertise you'll find at Advanced Auto Smog Star. MOE - Thanks again for all your help and info! I'm definitely recommending you to my family and friends. CL read more
