My friend told me that she purchases her eyewear from Costco and it is very affordable. I decided to come take a look and to my surprise it is very cost-effective compared to the optometrist's office. I came on a Friday evening and surprisingly it was sparse. Baby Jane was very warm and personable. She was very patient and answered all my questions, which I had quite a handful. My optometrist prescribed me with occupational progressive lens. Baby Jane explained the type of lenses that Costco provides and gave me a breakdown of the pricing. I also needed a second pair of glasses for nighttime driving. She informed me that there was a promotion that if I purchased two pairs, I could get $50 off. She helped me find pairs that were suitable for my slender face. I learned that each pair of eyewear has the size on it. That was something new and will be helpful to know when I make purchases in the future. Despite the bad reviews that I read online, I was very pleased with the prompt and friendly service that I received today. I will definitely be making purchases here in the future assuming that I am happy with my new progressive glasses.

The staff is not very competent, and more importantly lazy. They failed to find the VSP coverage that was active, and when they couldn't they kicked the responsibility to the patient and make the patient do their jobs. Rx check, which is the responsibility of the OD, is pawned off to the tech who does not have the clinical scope to do anything about the errors in Rx. This is done to reduce doctor's chair time, and it does not serve the patients well. I don't even know if these techs are licensed. Knowing what I know, I questioned their practices. When I did, I was met with super passive-aggressiveness and they tried to charge me for the Rx check that was covered under the VSP. VSP can help to accommodate many varying situations (like a pandemic), but this office was not even willing to try. I have spent many hours talking to VSP. They have NO intentions of doing so for their patients. This office will take advantage of you if you don't know what your rights are. If you do, then they try to weed you out by making your life difficult. This is not how you advocate for patients, and not how you run a clinic. However, it maybe a shrewd business tactic. You as a consumer and a patient, have the option of what you choose to accept as a standard of care.

I stopped in before shopping to see if I could get an appointment and was able to see Dr. Jan right away! Dr. Jan was friendly and professional the whole time and addressed all of my concerns about my vision. In the end he told me I was in between my current prescription and the next so I could go either way but since I've been noticing that my vision had worsened I could move to the next prescription. This was a great first visit and I will definitely be back even though this location is a bit of a hike for me. Highly recommend Dr. Jan!

Terrible Experience & Unprofessional Handling of Insurance…read more I arrived at this office dealing with severe eye irritation that left my left eye swollen shut and highly sensitive to light. Unfortunately, the care and professionalism I received matched the physical pain I was in. Upon entering, the staff was unapproachable and cold, and Dr. Jan addressed me only by name to give staff directions in front of me while entirely skipping a basic greeting. Before my exam, which included a painful laser photo that left me needing a moment to recover. I explicitly verified my insurance coverage again. Despite having called ahead to confirm insurance, receiving two text reminders, and having the appointment confirmed day-of, the receptionist shouted across a crowded, very small waiting room immediately after my procedure: "You can't see the doctor without paying out of pocket. We don't take "Name of insurance!" She literally yelled outloud the name of my medical insurance carrier. When I reasonably asked why my appointment and insurance had been repeatedly confirmed beforehand, the receptionist simply shrugged her shoulders coldly and demanded I leave, while Dr. Jan closed her office door to avoid the situation steps away from me. To be subjected to public humiliation while in acute physical pain, with zero empathy, compassion, or accountability from the staff or the physician is completely unacceptable. I left in pain and deeply disappointed by this establishment. Avoid this office inside of Costco if you expect basic respect and competent administrative communication.

There have been times when they have actually redone a prescription to make sure that it was exactly to my liking. I have a pretty complicated prescription and Dr. Cho always takes time to explain my options. And, while she gives her best professional recommendation, it is always up to me to decide what kind of lens I want. The practice is clean and cozy and during the pandemic, they had all of the right safety and health protocols in place to make me feel comfortable to come in. Savage Mill is one of those adorable places that's worth a visit just to explore the buildings…read more There are several smaller parking lots, and if those are full, the big lot on the back of the mill is accurately named. It's big and the walk down is easy. Savage Mill is a former mill that's been converted and has various small businesses, restaurants, hands on activities, offices, a large booth style antique store, and various other options. There's even a fencing club. The interior of Savage Mill is lovely with the shops portion being two floors and it has a modern wood grain look. As you get further into the mill buildings, they have more offices and it can get confusing due to the number of floors and hallways with nothing but doors. The booth style antique store named Antique Center at Historic Savage Mill was a pleasant surprise in the basement. It has a good mix of high- and low-end booths with things from comic books to vintage plates. Is Savage Mill with coming out of your way to visit? Absolutely. This was one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises during my visit to the area, and I'd recommend it to others. Just make sure to budget enough time for a visit.

There's something for everyone and you can truly spend the entire day here. Some of my favorite shops include More Than Java, Skinsational Scents and Boyd Cru Wines. The mall hosts events often.
