I had a great experience, not much of a wait time. Loved the staff especially the technician Yash

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Very pleased with my through eye exam and the overall great customer service. And I was able to get my glasses same day!

I went for an eye exam and to order new glasses about 4 years ago. The eye doctor (a lady) was extremely rude. I will not return.

Third chance I gave this business, foolish me I guess. Every year it's something. Last minutes…read morechanges, long waits, repeated and egregious lack of communication. This year I felt hopeful. Despite switching my appointment last minute (one hour notice) to a remote visit because of the doctor's illness, the customer service was very good. I specifically noted that I had not been notified my contacts were in the previous year and she promised to contact me. A month after my appointment, I check the website. It says my contacts are not in and to give them more time. Finally I call the office. They take a full 24 hours to get back to me to let me know they are in. I pick them up and the bag is dated as arriving one week after my appointment and lists "first patient notification" for the same day. Nope. And no apology or acknowledgment of this ridiculous oversight and poor service.

Go and find the book of Dr Bates and his method. By the way, My Eye Dr Laurel sent me this text message to instill fear in me and clients: "Did you know: of the estimated 93 million US adults at high risk for vision loss, only half visited an eye doctor in the past 12 months. Regular eye care can have a life-changing impact on preserving the vision of millions of people." These people and in the US healthcare system in general are driven by profit. Remember that: profit. Most eye problems are caused by stress and the type of food we eat. Buy physiology textbook and study the eye, the brain and our body. These so called eye doctors and doctors in general only treat symptoms, not the cause.

Cons - here's where it gets interesting. This guy could not stop talking about things that had no relation to the exam. He has a lot of opinions, apparently, and, even if he's talking about your career field, seems to think he's an expert. Likes to argue - and maybe start arguments? Like his office is his stage and he's the lead and patients are the audience. Sorry but, no matter how good he is, I'll have to pass on the drama...

However, cannot really say that about the woman who checked me in. I give her 2. Her demeanor wasn't unpleasant but it wasn't welcoming either. I give the doctor a 3. Here's why... My appointment was at 9:15 but Dr. Grundy didn't show up until sometime after 10 o'clock - they blamed his lateness on DC traffic! Really, if you live in DC, and have a practice in Maryland, get up earlier so you can get in on time and not have your patients waiting. When he arrived, he was very pleasant and polite and that's why I gave him a 3. He asked me why I was there but that was the last and only question. His interaction and conversation with me was with him sitting facing his computer, so I saw the side of his face most of the visit. He was barely listening and kept talking over top of me and as another reviewer said, was talking about things that had nothing to do with the exam. The interesting thing is, I actually made my appointment with Dr. Ehrlich because he had great reviews. Talk about a bait and switch. While I was in the waiting area, I overheard the receptionist say that he had retired. Why did they tell me that when I made my appointment? After this crazy experience, I decided to see if I could find any reviews on Dr. Grundy. I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe was me. I only found one review and it was negative. Maybe that's why they didn't tell me Dr. Ehrlich retired. That one review about his over chatting would've been enough to keep me away. I won't be going back.

Dr Ely and her staff immediately took stock of my situation and secured and optimized my remaining sight. I've since had two vision field studies performed at Maple Lawn Eye Care and have purchased two pairs of glasses with updated prescriptions. Dr Ely's partner, Dr Sanford Cohen, is putting me through weekly vision therapy at his office in Silver Spring. Today's vision field updated study shows vision improvement. Very encouraging ! Vision loss of any kind is tough to take. But Drs Ely, Cohen and staff have settled me down and charted a course to recovery. And I'm very pleased with both new pairs of glasses.

Still waiting. Posted the review yesterday and emailed a couple of times to the office, but no reply with an explanation of what happened. As the reviews posted by other patients, this has happened many times before and clearly, the charges aren't being disclosed upfront and if disclosed, not clearly. It is amazing to me that a business can continue to practice in this manner after repeated compaints.. My son just left their office for contact eye exam and was charged ridiculous fee of $500.00 and I was told that this is with "20%" off their regular price. I called office and talked to a lady named Kris who told me that is how much they charge and she told my son that "before" the exam which my son said he wasn't told until afterwards. Regardless, $500.00 for a routine contact eye exam? Am I the only one that thinks this is a highway robbery? My entire family has been wearing glasses and contact lens and have never seen anything like this. The only reason I went to this place was because of time sensitivily but wow.. Has anyone ever paid this much for a routine contact exam?
