I had a wonderful experience at my appointment for a new prescription! I was called and told they had space for me to do a weekend appointment and the receptionist on the phone was so nice! I arrived and my appointment went by really quick and I expressed interest in getting contacts. Instead of having me book another appointment for contacts doctor Mohindra Ramphal and Michelle A. took the time out of their busy day to talk to me about contacts and help me learn to put them in. Michelle was so incredibly supportive, encouraging, and patient in my learning process and helped me select my frames and order my contacts all in the same appointment. She was so pleasant and helpful to work with and these types of experiences are ones that make you go back! They didn't have to accommodate me at all but chose to do so! My first impression was a good one! The staff are amazing. Their customer service was spot on. The eye doctor was very thorough with a great bedside manor. My only disappointment was the price for a pair of glasses. Your representative quoted me $600 to have my prescription put into my own frames. So, if you're looking to spend a lot of money on a pair of glasses, you're at the right place. I took my frames and prescription to Vision Works and paid $485. read more

I originally was very impressed with this location; however, it seems over the last two years or so they had a change in staff. I used to frequent the Laurel location on Main Street, but I will not any longer. I find the current staff rude and not very helpful. On several occasions they have refused to give messages to the doctor or answer my questions. Today I asked to have the doctor call me to speak about my daughter's eye care and the office manager told me she would not have him call me... I insisted, and eventually said she would give him the message and it was up to his discretion if he wanted to call me back--assuming she had not plans to really give him the message. My daughter wears CRT lenses, which are different than just regular contacts. I tried to switch to the Silver Spring office as the staff is more friendly, helpful, and professional there. I was told our records were transferred by Laurel, then I was told they were not. Then I was told Laurel said I had to sign a release--though I was not told that at first (and it's the same company). It's been two days and the records are still not transferred, and per my last convo I was told it would be done within 24-48 hours........ I would avoid the org--at least the Laurel location. read more

Got to the appointment right on time, myself and my two daughters were immediately checked in and appointment started right away! It was my youngest's first time and staff made her feel at ease- even made her laugh! We waited for the doctor while browsing a selection of frames. Dr. Sammi took his time with each of us, and addressing our concerns. He explained everything he was doing while my youngest was sitting in the chair. When everyone was done, staff recapped prescriptions, double-checked everything, we paid and walked out the door! Such an efficient visit during this time! Great practice with friendly and helpful staff. I recently purchased a pair of glasses and my experience was fantastic. My concerns were considered, and my coverage was used to help provide further discounts on lenses and lens modifications. I think it's a great place to visit should you be in need of new specs. The name of the location morphed from "Laurel Family Eyecare"....same physicians under the direction of Dr. Sami Ghannam. I've been coming to this location for my eye care almost ten years now. They are quick, thorough, and personable. My last doctor talked to me about lasik procedures and that I should find out if im eligible. Very tempting, but I'm cheap and would rather put a silicone film in my eye than she'll out $5000. Plus my frames are ultra cute. I like the world fuzzy and blurry....when I want it to be. I mainly do my annual eye exam here for my contacts and lenses. I think they have a limited variety of frames though. I may have more eclectic tastes than the basic brands provided here. They really should love into a large spot. They're running out of room to conduct business. But....this spot is convenient and I'm proud to say I get my eye care here :-) read more

Always have a great experience here. The safety protocols were on point. Everyone is friendly and professional. My eye exam had all the explanations I needed and answered all my questions. I'm starting to get long sighted as I get older despite also being very short sighted. So my options were explained to me and I'm confident in my choices as a result. Dr. Sami Ghannam gave my daughter and me very thorough eye exams, which I very much appreciated. That's about all the positive I can muster for this place. The office is the absolute worst - at communicating, returning calls, following through on multiple requests for information. I had an eye exam a month ago and have been trying since then to get information from them - waiting 2-3 weeks to get contact pricing info. Every time (multiple times) I called, i was told "i'll have to get that information for you and get back to you." And no one ever called to follow up - how hard is it to pull a price comparison list of products that you offer? i would call back again only to be put on hold for forever, and then have the person come on the phone and say, "May I take your information and get back to you?" How many times do i have to leave my name and phone number for the same request?? Finally fed up with waiting WEEKS, i called to get my prescription sent to me so that I could take my business elsewhere and order contacts through someone else. That was another waiting game as I was still told, "Ok we will send it to you" and never received it until my 2nd or 3rd follow up call. Then I had to wait several more days to get my prescription corrected because they had the wrong brand of contacts on there..still waiting on that, as i was told yesterday that the corrected copy would be faxed by the end of the day. OF COURSE, it was not! I had to call back AGAIN to follow up and was told someone would send it to me when she arrives. Day 3 and no one has called back or sent it to me. Every time I call it is an exercise in patience and biting my tongue. I am done...never going back there again. read more

I had the most horrible experience at this practice which I never experienced in my life. I had my eye exam on February 22. I went back in early March 6 and I ordered glasses and contacts from Rob who works there. I got a call from Rob who works at this place on March 16 that the glasses are in transit and that he would call me when the glasses and contacts arrived. I never got a call back so I went back on March 30 Friday to the practice to see if my glasses and contacts had came in yet since it's been almost a month. Rob looked up in his computer and said I was there on March 26 Monday. I was in complete shock that Rob lied and said that I picked up the glasses and contacts from him and that I even tried it on. I was disgusted and shocked with his horrible lie. I notified my insurance company right away to report this practice and told them what was going on. Nina who is the owner said she had to check the surveillance camera she even called my mother to ask her if I had a sister. This was going to far. I was shocked I cannot believe I was being blamed for a mistake that this practice made. I wanted them to refund my money and retract my insurance i just can't believe I was being blamed for there mistake they made. Michele from billing refuse to refund my money. They reordered the glasses after I reported to my insurance company that I did not want any business from them. Michele said they couldn't refund my money back she is such as liar. I should of wrote a letter to the Quality assurance and reported them which I should of done in the first place. They mailed me the glasses and contacts since I will never ever go to this practice again. The frames looked bent on the right side and I was promised by Rob on March 6 that it would be brand new it looked like it was used the frames from the display. I was so upset i called the office on Saturday and Marissa who works there was so rude when I told them about the glasses she told me to call Michele. I called Michele guess what she never answered the phone am I surprised no. I called Nina she was yelling at me when I told her about the frames looked used like it was from the display. She was still blaming me that in the surveillance camera apparently looked like me since it cost her double to make the glasses apparently I didn't give a hoot about the glasses it will go directly in the trash. Apparently Nina was on vacation oh well. The fact that I was being blamed for a mistake they did. Horrible experience never buy your glasses from this place please run away fast. Let me know if anyone ever had a horrible experience like this they don't even deserve one star at this practice.... read more

I've been going to Dr. Sami for 10 years now; my mom and dad go to him as well. The staff is very friendly, and willing to help as much as they can. Marisa is fantastic! She helped me on numerous occasions picking out glasses, and even ordering a particular pair of sunglasses for me because the ones that they had in the office didn't fit my face appropriately.
