My experience with the receptionist and the other person who…read morelooked up insurance was excellent, but I couldn't believe all of the additional charges I would have to pay vs my old eye Dr. I only called here because my insurance changed and they were on the list. I would literally pay 200 less for my simple needs if I just went to my old Dr. and even payed out of pocket, skipping my insurance entirely. It was disconcerting to hear so many warnings, disclaimers and "fine print" from an eye Dr. I just wanted a simple frame and contact prescription renewed and have no eye problems. They wanted my medical insurance info up front in case they found a problem and warned there would be additional charges they would have to bill my medical insurance for if they found anything. That made me feel uneasy. Never had to do that before, and what did that mean exactly? In addition, seems like they have a state of the art retinal scanner that I'd have to pay out of pocket for that was another 40.00 or so. It's not necessary to get because dilation is covered by insurance on most exams. Dilation is still gold standard for eye exams. It allows the doctor to see the far edges of your retina in 3 d vs 2 d. This is allows for spotting issues like retinal tears, tumors, or early signs of diabetes and high blood pressure. Anyhow, they also have their own tier system on how they book you, and they charge you a 150 to 250+ for a simple contact lens scrip and fitting, and mentioned other possible fees. The straw for me was the automatic 42.00 "booking fee" on top of a copay, 160 for contacts exam, another 49 for scan, possible other charges before even getting glasses/contacts I'm sorry, what? Obviously their priority is profit..and while that may be normal as a business, this is excessive and insulting. While doctors cannot legally manufacture a fake diagnosis (as falsifying records to bill insurance is a severe criminal offense), aggressive practices can exploit gray areas by up-billing for minor, harmless findings like standard eye strain or slight dryness, itchyness from environmental allergy, etc. I'm not saying the care is bad, I'm sure they are highly qualified but you had better get a quote in writing before receiving care to avoid surprises. Check your insurance carefully. I'd estimate an out of pocket cost for the appointment, glasses and contacts.. assuming they will let you choose pretty basic would be 650 to 1000 when all is said and done. I did some research and found that vision insurance companies have drastically cut payouts. Routine vision plans (like VSP or EyeMed) often pay doctors incredibly low rates for an exam. Conversely, medical insurance payouts have generally kept closer pace with inflation. I don't know if that's what's happening overall, but it's concerning that it's just something else to be aware of in the healthcare battles we increasingly face.

My main reason was to get glasses with a blue light filter and to be able to see when I'm tired at night (while driving). The staff is super friendly, the eye doc was kind and great with my little one. I was very happy with that. Glasses took about 7 business days to get. They handled all the insurance stuff and I was on my way. Easy peasy. Highly recommend if you need an eye doc.

Although I love people watching at Wal-Mart, I also love to save time. My wife and I timed our online grocery shopping. It took us twenty minutes to order and pay for our groceries online. Usually, this process took us more than an hour at Wal-Mart, sometimes more, if the lines were long. Walmart gave us a $10 off coupon for our first grocery order. After ordering, they give you a choice of checking a substitution product if they are out of your brand. When ordering, they give you a picture, weight and/or size of the product. You select the quantity. We ordered fruits, vegetables, and deli meat to see what the "shopper" would get us. I have two complaints here, they need to offer a choice of slice thickness for deli meat and allow coupons to be entered online. Manuel, our in store shopper, picked out very fresh, unbruised, fruits and vegetables. You pick the time and date to pickup your groceries. It is really a time slot, we picked between 1 and 2 pm. We entered our cell number online and they called us ten minutes before one. They were asking if we would be arriving for pickup at one or a little later. Pickup is on the right side of the building by the pharmacy drive thru. Manuel explained this phone call is so he could be outside waiting because he literally got the groceries right before we arrived. He also brought the groceries out of the store and loaded them into our car. Wal-Mart asks that you do not tip the shoppers. Manuel gave us a swag bag for using this service (I have attached pictures). It was tough for us imagining someone else handling our groceries, but if you think about it, the cashier touches all of them when you are checking out. This is such a time saver and eliminates the need for standing in line. Manuel told me if more people don't try this service, than Wal-mart is going to kill it.
