This Walmart is in a plaza located in Torrington. I went on a weekday in the early afternoon and the parking lot was pretty busy. What I liked about the lot was that there was a sidewalk in between the parking spots which leads to a cross walk to enter the store. The little details does matter and this is a good safety feature. The store was organized and I like that they had groceries. I usually go to the one in Avon but chose this particular one at this time, because it had groceries and I needed some items. The self check-outs were standard and it wasn't too busy. There were a couple of cashiers on duty. The store was clean and organized and prices were comparable to other Walmarts. Overall, a good store to have if you want to save some money. read more

Hooray for this Walmart that supports RVers by tolerating overnight parking. I had a quiet night though I needed two blocks to level. A minor detail. In the morning, I popped into the store. Restrooms were clean and picked up a few food items. This is not a full Supercenter - they do not have a full meat or dairy or produce area but there are dry groceries and some coolers with a few things. Well, it's Walmart, so there are some ok and lots more not-ok things about the store. First, it is not a superstore, so it is rather more limited in its stock than might be preferred. It seems clean, but we find it difficult to get around because the aisles can be quite narrow and difficult to navigate, especially when employees are busy restocking. We most often don't find what we want here and come away empty-handed; maybe that's on us, but the neighboring Target frequently does carry what we are looking for. Some of the employees here are good-natured and helpful; a few seem bored and not thrilled to see customers. Overall, just not a particularly good experience, or maybe one just for fans of the organization (??). read more

I went there today to print out photos and waited at the printer for 15 minutes before Luis came along helping someone else at this point. Hit the help button again and he tried to tell me my photos were never processed. I showed him my confirmation and ran over to the computer and was like see. He didn't help me at all and when I asked for his name the manager told me to leave. Worst experience ever!!!!!! I'm switching to target for all my things. As Walmarts go there are better, and there are worse. This one is so cluttered it's almost hard to move around. There's random tables of clearance in the clothing section, displays in every walk-way. Either they aren't aware of their actual square footage, or they just have a take no prisoners, "We'll MAKE room" approach to display coordination. The parking lot is a nightmare in the winter. The potholes will swallow your front end. As of tonight, it's paved over, but who knows how long it will hold up. Also, avoid like the plague on the weekends. The parking lot is packed, and it will take you half the day to check out. That being said, the employees really seem to try hard, and even though they must have to put up with so much between their management and their customers, they're always friendly. I've never had a bad cashier there; the waits are circumstances beyond their control. read more

This Walmart doesn't have produce. I guess it's not supposed to be a grocery store, but I was hoping it would be. It has a frozen foods' section thought. It's a smaller Walmart than I'm used to. read more

I am just grateful they are there whenever I want something affordable. Their paint section is simple but you get the color you want plus the associate was friendly and helpful not even worried I didn't wear mask in this hard time . He followed me to the garden center and checked my can of paint because he wasn't sure if he locked the top good. The associate in the entrance also made sure I got the disinfected or treated cart. I have high respect for people who love their job. read more

How sad is it when I go to one of the checkout lanes, with a human cashier, and find out that they have no bags to put my items in. Do you really think everyone that shops at your stores is carrying bags around with them. I understand charging 10 cents per bag, but to have no bags at all is pathetic. Just shopped here. Many employees were not wearing masks. Others were wearing masks just on their mouth, not their nose -- where most of the virus would be sprayed on customers they are talking to. I don't live far from this Wal-Mart so I used to joke about how I pay their light bill. I only gave it 3 stars because of a couple reasons. The staff is usually really nice or really grumpy. I dare not ask anyone in electronics for help anymore because I always encounter a snotty remark. I use the photo kiosk, minding my p's and q's, print out my receipt, and then go about my shopping. The people who greet at the door are so friendly and helpful. Also, the front end where the cashiers ring out your order and very nice. Be prepared to squeeze through the isles. Since their addition of a grocery section, (which I was really happy about at first) it has become very hard to navigate through the isles with a cart. If you like crowds, go on a weekend. If you like the ease of shopping and not bumping into people left and right, go on a Saturday morning before 9:30am. Lastly, the parking lot has a lot of pot holes. In the winter there is usually a huge pot hole at the end of the parking lot that not even a pick up truck is safe from. I used to go to this Wal-Mart all the time, but because of these reasons I only go now to pick up a couple of items that I can't find cheaper elsewhere. Postive side: Clothes are always at a great price and the quality is not bad. My boyfriend bought a suit for a funeral for about $50. He needed a suit quickly so he was really happy with the fit and how it looked. I like the new dresses and tank tops they came out for this season. All under $15. I think the design team stepped their game up. lol read more

Love this Walmart my Family is a Family with a sense of humor, We live a crazy life and we get stared at... My husband acts like a fool my boys join in you would think the Walmart employees would be like omg here is the circus but they absolutely laugh with us and we also been told thank you for the laugh we needed that. The Cashier laughed so hard my husband screamed he wanted gum and threw it on the belt, I took it off and he said he wilk jump up and down sit on the floor and kick. This store is great!! I have problems and fred the manager hooks u up. But really takes the cake is wheni bought a $300 pool and pump blows. Susan assistant manager as well as associates who bent over backwards to try to get me a pump and susan was actually gonna drive to another state to get the pump that walmart didnt have in stock!!! I bought a dirt cheap portable drill here for my daughter and probably not surprisingly it turned out to be useless. I blame myself and not Walmart for thinking I could get something for nothing. What I do fault Walmart for is their return policy. I had the complete drill, the box and the receipt and they would not accept the return because I didn't have the one page owner's manual. I thought it was a joke but it wasn't. This is a return policy from the 1960's, not 2013. Target will accept a return without the receipt or even the product. They understand it isn't worth upsetting a customer who shops there. I use to shop at both Walmart and target but Walmart has just made shopping easier. And yes, all the rest of the negative comments about Walmart are true. And come to think if it, now I do blame them for selling a useless drill. read more

I have dealt with this Walmart since it opened. And thinking on some of the reviews I saw, I have had no real difficult times. I can find everything, and when they have clearances they put tables of items out, where you can see them as soon as you walk in. Prices are reasonable, and I like that they are GREAT about their return policy. No telling you that they return policy is on the other side of the sales receipt. (Irony of the other store, once you get the sales receipt rules - you already bought the item). But the best part of the store is the staff, they are always helpful, always say hi, and I ask if I need assistance. Lastly when my Smart TV went 3 weeks before it was to be off warranty, they did a great job, getting a repairman on site to fix it, and have it back up and running. My review is based on almost 20 years of dealing with the particular store. It has been a solid run. read more

Usually going into Wal-Mart is a pretty good experience. Although tonight it was not. It being Christmas Eve I know things are hectic and everyone wants to be home with family. My brother, mom and myself were picking up very last minute gifts. An error occured during checkout so we were sent to customer service. There was an error of miscommunication and pretty much lack there of from cashier to the woman who took care of us. Last name Dixon I believe. All she did was look at the receipt and gave us money without asking what the problem was and put it in as a return. I had told her what had happened and at this point a manager was involved, which was just fine. But the truth is, this woman was rude and disrespectful not only to my family but to her co workers and those above her as well. I know what its like not to want to be at work, but I also know in having worked retail you never show the customer anything besides happy. I get it, working holidays aren't fun, and I'm sure the day was filled with unreasonable people. It does not justify they way we were treated. We weren't difficult in any sense of the word and watched while the situation was taken care of. Really not the experience I want to have again. read more
