Today I went to Marshall's in Avon to buy baby items as I did yesterday as well spending over $300. I am 9 months pregnant and super excited. However, when I went to the register to make my purchase today a grouchy old lady with a huge stick up her a** had the nerve to tell my twin 9 year old sons to not touch the candy bags on display if they weren't going to buy them. I quickly wondered why she would ASSUME we weren't going to buy them and I asked her if she was in a bad mood. I followed up by saying that I've never heard that people can't look at candy bags or show their parents for possible purchase. She said that many customers won't buy an item if it has been touched. WOW! Is all I can say. The nerve. Everything is touched in their store! Candles are smelled, pillows are squeezed and the list goes on. This lady had some nerve and even the manager behind her told me it was fine if my kids picked up and looked at the candy bags. I mean what's the point of having tiny gum-ball machines right next to the register if NOT TO ENTICE children?!!!!! Anyhow, people are just rude and all I can say is that if you're damn near 80 years old and working at Marshall's just chill the F*ck out. You don't need to act like you own the store and try to make up these crazy rules to try and assert your non-existent power. Maybe CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT THE JOB FOR YOU. Marshall's is a discount retail chain; they purchase overstock/out of season items from manufacturers and sell it for a lower price. There are 1236 stores in the US and Canada. I'm a fan of this Marshall's; it's big, clean, and organized. It is very similar to the HomeGoods (which is owned by the same company) in the same plaza. I love their clearance racks which can be found at the end of the aisles. A great place to bargain shop. I've always loved TJ Maxx and Marshall's is essentially its sibling. The following types of products can be found at Marshall's; footwear, clothing, bath, bedding, home decor, furniture, beauty products, jewelry, housewares, toys, giftware, and per supplies. I loved their candles and random skincare, and soaps. The clothes were pretty decent if you dig around the racks. The employees were friendly. Overall, a fun place to shop and you can find some treasures; as their slogan says, "Your surprise is waiting and never boring, always surprising." read more

I have pretty good luck with shoes and housewares at this location. It's a little smaller than some other Marshall's, but they fit a lot in the store. I really like the assortment of hair and body care items here, too, as well as seasonal offerings. The staff is friendly, and the checkout line moves fast. read more

I've shopped at this Marshalls for decades. Quite a bit of merchandise in an organized manner. There are great deals to be had, just have to be flexible. Not all items available in all sizes, but when you catch a deal - just great. Purchased my grandkids Native Shoes, Crocs & Merrell sandals at fantastic price. Staff is so nice, however this Marshall's is so disorganized - there are unlabeled and mislabeled items on the rack and on shelves, and the merchandise they DO have is super picked over. Several times I've found the same product with different price stamps, which makes it the luck of the draw to see if you pick up the cheapest one. Like i mentioned, once you get to checkout the staff is absolutely lovely, it's just the process of getting there that's a nightmare. read more

Marshall's of Avon is one of the best stocked Marshall's in this general area. This is a bit of a bigger store, and I find it well organized, as well as well stocked in each of its areas. They have a really nice home section of mugs, dishes, home decor, holiday items, stationary, candles, bedding, pillows, and such. If you're looking through the women's clothing like jeans, it may take a while, as the items are tightly packed together, and there's a lot to look at. Depending on the day or season, you may find a nice variety of shoes, sometimes even designer shoes, but unfortunately at odd sizes. Their general shoe selection is pretty decent on most of my trips to the store. Of course it depends on what you're in the market for. One thing I've learned about Marshall's over the years, if you see something you really like, get it, it will not stick around forever. It's easier to return it, then to stumble upon it again in the future. There have been many times I'd bring something to the register and the sales associate was so surprised they sell it at the store. I just find it a bit funny. But it's probably because they don't have the time to walk around the store and see everting, because they're tied down to the register. Marshall's of Canton is worth a visit, you you'd find all sorts of goods here, for kids, home, pets or yourself, at great prices, you'll just need a bit of extra patience for some areas. read more

I have to say I love the Marshals in Avon they have almost anything you need. I initially went there to buy some summer cloths for my 13 year old son they had so much to choose from he is an adult small, and they had so many name brands like to chose from some include Champion, Michael Kors, Nike, Adidas and many more . I bought him 6 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts and the price was not even close to how much I expected!!! Then, at checkout, some jewelry caught my eye for my daughter for a great price and a hand cream and mug for my mom !! They also had a pair of beautiful Sandels for myself and so many nice purses !! If the kids weren't with me, I could have stayed there all day, especially with all the beautiful cloths they had for me but that will have to be a to be continued this time !!! I highly recommend Marshals you will not be disappointed at all !!! I also have to give a shout out to the staff they were all amazing and very accommodating and friendly!! There is sooooooo much stuff in this store - it's reasonably well faced, although a little messier in the clearance sections as one may expect. There is definitely a shopper's high that hits you in finding cute housewares and fun baking supplies at low prices. The only downside is the wait to checkout seems long considering the amount of people waiting in line. read more

Convenient spot if you're running errands solo or as a couple. I get my hair cut at great clips in the same plaza and will drop my wife off for a good hour shopping while I wait. If solo, perfect for getting quick gifts or sales on men's undershirts, briefs, socks etc. read more

This store in Avon CT has the worst manager or assistant whoever it is. When I was returning a thing bought 4 days back he could not find it on my reciept and him and one more lady was interrogating me as if I was doing something wrong and bringing a part if the item. Problem is they do not know the items they keep in the store. I left that time there without taking any money. They didn't even have any courtesy to make me comfortable. This is not the first time this has happened at this store with the same manager. Not the cashier but the male manager who manages or may be mismanages things there. Last month I encountered him again and he was so adamant to admit that the item that I wanted to buy was marked incorrectly and I paid double the price I paid for the same thing in Homegood same day. The tag on the item that I bought didn't even belong there ot was for some other brand. I would give this store a minus 5 rating for this store. Most of the cashiers also do not look happy a several times under these managers. This product is available on atleast 10-15 stores and both managers were hell bent on shaming me and prove that I was bringing a part of another product to get money. I left the item there. I went to this store on Saturday, March 25th to do some shopping. I had to use the women's bathroom and it was absolutely disgusting. It smelled terrible, extremely dirty and had dried feces all over the plunger that was next to the toilet. The dressing room was extremely dirty as well. There were dust bunnies, hair balls and stuff all over the ground. I've been to a lot of Marshalls and this was by far the worst one I've ever been to. Dirty and gross. read more
