I stock up on my favorite teas here and the Bob's Red Mill selection is better than any grocery store near me. The "Eat for Free" section is also a great deal. I was there on 12/7/25, to purchase oriental rug, the largest! My husband went to front to request help we are older and the rugs are heavy, the one I wanted was on the bottom, they paged a girl, we waited 20 minutes, again requested help so he saw the doors in the back and they were open, well apparently this was the person that was supposed to help, she snapped at my husband and said no help! So we started moving rugs ourselves which was very difficult for me because of my joint issues! After about 1/2 hour a man came from the front and sorry we have no one to help. No store Manager was available, I said why do you have signs up saying they help, then my husband asked the girl for tape so we can wrap up, she got it and gave to him and walked away!!!! I said excuse me do you have a rolling cart, this was too heave and big for a carriage, she went and got one and walked away, I felt bad that he had to do this by himself because at that point my shoulders hurt so bad, an elderly couple was there to get one also, my husband offered to help but the man was so mad, he said this is our last time coming to this place! I wrote corporate twice and called the store to talk to a manager on Tuesday, his name is Paul but he wasn't there, the girl took my info and said I will have him call, I think she was shocked as well what we went through, she was very pleasant. I will never shop at this tore again, and furthermore what kind of manager doesn't follow up with a complaint! If you don't have the help a customer then I suggest you take all the signs down offering help, we spent close to 400$ on 2 rugs! This place, as far as any other Ocean State as well, has declined with tremendous swiftness and glorious disregard for its customer service practices across the board! As far as the selection of products, I do have to protest that if they send me emails advertising an item in the store, they ought to have the item in stock before enticing me to come and buy it. I feel that they know the value of products they sell are just as equitable to high-priced garbage, as they are to actual necessity in one's life. On this particular occasion, we attempted to purchase the item twice, only to be told it never came into the store. As weeks went by, we called regularly, yet the staff was unable to get away from playing on their phones, always stating, "you'd have to come in and see," or "I don't know what you're talking about." When we went to the store. The staff would point into the air, stating: "everything is in that department over there," not even bothering to put their phones down to come and help, all while standing around the customer Service desk gabbing away while doing absolutely no work! Meanwhile food is expired, shelves are in utter dissaray, and products scattered about on the floor everywhere. This is understandable, as when I asked for a manager, was told "there is no manager today." Finally, yesterday we explained that on visit #1 the manager informed us that when the products did come in, he would honor the sale price as advertised. However, when we were there yesterday explaining this, the cashier called the, "person in charge" whom immediately cane over barking at us. "WHATS YOUR PROBLEM?" I think his attitude was absurd and exactly the attitude that Ocean state exudes in every aspect of its existence. 1 POOR SERVICE, 2 LACKNOF ADVERTISED SELECTION. Good prices on most items although their hanging plants were actually more than Home Depot's. I gave 2 as there were at least 10 items I was interested in purchasing but had no prices marked ... it is frustrating to be in a store that wants you to make purchases but careless management allows this to happen in their store/s ( this isn't just the 2nd or 3rd time I have experienced several items unmarked - yes I looked at every other matching item for a price without success. I noticed that I wasn't the only one in the store that just put the unmarked items back, I can't be bothered to make a purchase if the store employees can't be bothered to mark items. read more

They sell expired foods , so you have to be vigilant. I bought Ritter Sports from here because they are the only ones with a large variety and they were expired more than a month ago. Didn't check the date because who would have thought but it gave me a weird reaction because of the nuts I guess and I was like let me check the date. This store is worth your time if you are willing to spend time searching for what you want. I found some great OPI nail polishes for $3.99 each. Typically they range from $5-$15 anywhere else. The had a great selection of colors but their display was very disorganized. Also, the customer service at the Wethersfield location was not the greatest. I asked about an item and the employee asked someone else, only to inform me that it was, "somewhere after the calendar isle". No further information was provided. It is my expectation that as an employee, you should walk the customer to the location indicated and help them find the item in question. Very big, almost overwhelming. They have a lot of stuff. Some deals are to be had. For bakers: many extracts for $1. Vanilla was $2.50 For health nuts: They have the largest selection of Bob's Mill products I have ever seen in one place. Surprise treat: They have an excellent selections of rugs at different price points. This place is good for ones basic needs, inexpensive presents, stocking stuffers. If you're going, give yourself some extra time, and do not come with a very specific shopping list. read more

Saw Talbots brand clothing for women as well as J.Jill, Eddie Bauer and Kenneth Cole. Ardell falsies, Chapstick, Revlon, L'Oreal, Sally Hansen, e.l.f, Barille and so many other top brands in cosmetics. I honestly don't know why people who shop anywhere else for lots of things... Thy are always first quality here and so inexpensive. Usually it's just packaging that is different/no longer current...for example the Annie's Mac and Cheese won't expire until April 2016.. read more

Like all other Ocean State Job Lot stores out there, this is full of completely random merchandise and usually good prices. You have to be careful though, as sometimes items can be found for cheaper at Walmart or a regular retail store due to sizing, etc. This particular Ocean State Job Lot has relatively neat aisles, this is particularly true at the front of the store. Towards the rear (near the home improvement items) it can get cluttered...but not terribly so. Overall, I like to come here for specific items but rarely to do regular grocery/household shopping. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I have never been treated so poorly in my life, and I work in customer service. All I wanted to do was return a defective product I bought the night before, because it was a crazy deal they would not return with out the gift card. So I find the gift card, and ask the manager on duty (Paul) why I am being penalized a promotional item when it is not my fault it does not work. He tells me to shut up! I insisted on knowing why I was being penalized. He yelled at me, "That's just the way it is. SHUT UP!" I can not believe a manager would treat a customer so poorly. It is obviously not the way it is because when he was telling the cashier how to return it, she said the computer wouldn't do it that way. I will never go back to Ocean State again! read more

Ocean State Job Lot can be a hit or a miss. They have a bizarre collection of products, and you never really know what you're going to find! Things that I have found to be consistent: hair care, facial care, certain food brands, and flower pots. They strangely carry higher end shampoos and conditioners, which is great, so you don't have to pay outrageous prices at the salon. Pond's facial cream (my go to) is always in stock, as are several Aveeno body wash products. I always find the Bob's Red Mill products that I need, as well as some unique treats- yesterday was blueberry yogurt pretzels! Yum! Landscaping supplies at this time of year are always in abundance- they have terracotta pots as well as beautiful painted pots, and I have never seen one costing more than $20.00. Go to any Home Depot or Lowe's and the larger pots would be around $50.00. The negatives for me for OSJL would be the inconsistency of other types of products. Office supplies, candles, and automotive supplies (like car air fresheners!) are sometimes there and sometimes not. Also the parking situation- I have never seen a lot with so many handicapped spaces! I am very able bodied so I don't mind walking far from a parking space, but I just had to put that out there- every parking row has 2-3 handicapped spots, and there are at least 8 rows. Oh well, I will continue to wander the aisles of OSJL in search of random things. read more

wow i have never been in here and i dont know why! They have tons of stuff for a fraction of what you would normally pay. There is a whole aisle full of shampoo, conditioner, creams and another aisle full of kitchen stuff and even dry goods - like really high end dry goods. Great prices! read more
