I enjoy shopping here especially in the clearance racks. They have really unique snacks and I'm always looking for funky flavored ones. On my most recent trip, I purchased the peach rings with tajin, mango chili taffy, fat free coffee flavoring, supplements, and home decor. I noticed that the aisles were really cramped especially walking through with a cart; it will not fit two carts so if there is another person in the aisle, there might be a cart accident lol. Cashiers has been pretty friendly so far. This is the closest HG to me so I'll be frequenting it. read more

The prices are better then anywhere else, and quality is often higher on substantial items. My home is filled with many items that came from this store. They have big things like dining table with chairs to small things like decorative napkins. The staff who work here will help you load your car if it's a larger object that you've purchased. Wonderful selection in many departments. Outstanding selection in bath/bedding, lamps, art, etc. I've purchased last-seasons (and sometimes current season) designer bedding at 1/3 the price. Nice selection of kitchen, dining, linens also. Sales are great. Only complaint is that there is too much merchandise CRAMMED into the store. It's very difficult to maneuver some aisles if there is a person coming in the opposite direction with a cart. read more

I remember when this Home Goods was a Borders.... Then Borders the chain was mismanaged and all the books are gone. *Sigh* Home Goods is nice too though, for sure. It has all you need in kitchen and holiday decor, and everything you didn't know you need. People do have a tendency to catch up with dear lifelong friends right in front of the aisle you'd like to look at, which is not a reflection of the store or it's employees. Lines can be long. Note that mine is the first review I've seen so far about the new location in Avon. I was a big fan of the Simsbury store and had high hopes for the move to the newly built store in Avon, but so far it's been a big disappointment. My girlfriends and I all find this store inferior to the Simsbury store. First of all, it feels smaller and more cramped. Secondly, I am not finding the assortment of things I used to find in the other store. It was laid out better and had more breathing room. When you came in you were often greeted by pretty displays full of new and seasonal merchandise. That's not the case in this store. At this time of year you couldn't walk in and not be assaulted by all things Fall and Halloween, tons of pumpkin stuff, pumpkin spice everything, you name it. I didn't see that in this store. I wouldn't have known Halloween was just around the corner. It's too bad, now my friends and I are all talking about how we'll have to visit other Home Goods locations further away to find the things we want but even then it will still be a hassle and a disappointment because even among Home Goods locations, the Simsbury store was special. I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to mess with a good thing. Maybe they thought being on a main road very close to the Marshall's was a good idea, and/or they got a deal on the rent. Whatever, it's just that in this time of constant retail store closures I didn't need another disappointment like this. read more

Oh how I love this location! It's about 20 minutes from me but well worth the drive. It's rare to come across a HomeGoods around here that isn't cramped to one side of a store sharing space with Marshalls or TJ Maxx. That said, the selection is solid - lots of great seasonal stuff (how can you NOT get giddy at all the spring styles), an expansive kitchen supply/accessory area, abundant furnishings, wall decor and so. much. more. I'd like to start off my review saying I usually love going to Homegoods as I always find such cute stuff at reasonable prices however, my experience at the Simsbury location was a different to say the least. I'll sum it up by saying if Homegoods is going to have greeters at the door be sure they greet EVERYONE in the same manner as they greet those who are of the same persuasion. I like this HomeGoods location, but they need to be more organized with their food section, and their employees need to hustle more. While the merch is good, the employees were incredibly slow, and my friend and I had to wait in line for way longer than we should have had to. It's a clean store, with a pretty good kids section too, but I also feel like there's stuff crammed everywhere. read more

Yes, yes, my heart says YESSSS!!!! I just think I'm obsessed with this store. Me and my little family recently moved into our new home (FIRST HOUSE! YAY) in the area and realized that moving from a tiny two bedroom condo to a considerably larger space leaves you a creepy amount of space. Right now we live in what looks like a prison cell for the very best of inmates. Bed.. Toilet.. SPACE.. More space.. cold, empty feelings and echo.. nightstand. Ain't nobody got time for that. Ok so off we go to Home Goods to fill the house up with girly trinkets to piss the man of the house off. Me and my gals wandered around in discount bliss for AT LEAST 3 hours. Mind you I have a 12 year old and a 3 year old and they were not bored in the least. They have everything your little inner Jeff Lewis self could desire, on a budget. I have no favorite area. It's allll my favorite. If you are a new renter or new home owner you can easily decorate every square inch of your home with items from just this store and remain worry-free about the amount of money it took you to do it, and actually make it look more expensive than it really was. West Elm, Joss and Main, One Kings Lane and Hautelook are all great online retailers that sell nice home decor, but it can be a little too pricey, actually way too pricey for my budget. I find that with actually not too much digging, at this store I can get the same look and the fact that I can actually feel the things before I purchase them as opposed to online, makes this store a keeper. I won't go into every section of the store and describe all the merchandise, it's essentially the Home Goods section in Marshall's and TJ Maxx. What sets this particular store apart though is that it's sqeaky clean and well organized, with about 5x more options. Definitely one of my top five stores in the area. I'm in love. read more

This is the best Home Goods in the area. The employees are amazing and treat you with such respect. I was helped many times when I couldn't find certain items, and knowing me, the item I picked didn't have a price tag so the cashier was able to help. They have a wide selection of furniture and toys that are so reasonable. I love this homegoods! They need to have more staff on each day but other than that very good. read more

This is definitely one of better, but busier, Home Goods in the area. I live in West Hartford, and choose to drive 20+ minutes to go to this one over the ones in West Hartford or Wethersfield. I think they have a much larger selection, the store itself is cleaner, and it's also near the Avon Marketplace that has all the stores you need if you can't find what you're looking for in Home Goods. read more

This is the biggest Homegoods I have ever seen! I was looking for a specific item for my dog and did not find it as their pet area/selection seems to be geared toward smaller dogs, but if you are looking for anything for your home, you are likely to find it here. But beware as the aisles are narrow, and the soccer mom types who seem to be the target demographic of this store store will run you down in a heartbeat. read more

My go to home goods is the one in Wethersfield but I visited the Simsbury location for the fist time the other day and I was in haven! The store was well kept and very organized. The selection of goods was big and beautiful! I never spent more time in a store and I wasn't bored. I absolutely loved it here! I found all that I was looking for. Also, great costume service. I am very dissatisfied with their customer service. I returned a desk 40 days after I initially purchased it and Home Goods did not refund the tax on the desk. The desk was past the 30 day refund policy and Home Goods will only issue store credit for any purchase returned after 30 days. The clerk told me when store credit is issued, they do not refund the state tax. Even worse, the clerk had a bad attitude but that could be due to the store was extremely busy and they were understaffed. read more

I am normally not one to post reviews, but feel compelled to do so in this case. I went to the store with the intention of applying for a job. There was a huge "Now Hiring" banner on the exterior of the building. A sales associate gave me an application and made it very clear that the store was in the process of hiring. I filled out an application on the spot. I just called to follow up on my application, and was told (very rudely and temperamentally) that the hiring process was completed over three weeks ago. This is very misleading, and an example of false advertising. If the hiring process was, in fact, completed a few weeks ago, then the banner should be taken down and the staff made aware of the situation. read more
