I remember when this Home Goods was a Borders.... Then Borders the chain was mismanaged and all the books are gone. *Sigh* Home Goods is nice too though, for sure. It has all you need in kitchen and holiday decor, and everything you didn't know you need. People do have a tendency to catch up with dear lifelong friends right in front of the aisle you'd like to look at, which is not a reflection of the store or it's employees. Lines can be long. Prepare to be patient!

In my defense I was left Unsupervised by my other half I came I bought and left happy. This store has everything that you can get your hands on and love. From kitchenware, Candles, Spices, bathroom, kids stuff, lamps all that and more, come in and see for yourself.

Part TJ Maxx, part Christmas Tree Shop, part Bed, Bath and Beyond, and part Ocean State Job Lot. Anything you might want to furnish or decorate your humble abode can be found here. Plates, kitchen utensils, toys, books, food, linens, towels, artwork, nick-nack, bric a brac, tchotchkes, wall hangings, whatever- thay have it here. Prices aren't too bad either. Makes a great place to kill time when you're waiting for the movie next door to start.

Oh how I love this location! It's about 20 minutes from me but well worth the drive. It's rare to come across a HomeGoods around here that isn't cramped to one side of a store sharing space with Marshalls or TJ Maxx. That said, the selection is solid - lots of great seasonal stuff (how can you NOT get giddy at all the spring styles), an expansive kitchen supply/accessory area, abundant furnishings, wall decor and so. much. more. We left with a looooovely new wine rack, some candles, and dish towels. To say we hardly scratched the surface is an understatement!

Yeah, that's the creepy dog statue I want for my front porch.

So much so that when I knew I would be moving into a new home in a retirement community west of Boston, I knew it was time to buy two nightstands to go with the bed. The Memorial Day Sale mailing made it happen. Fast forward to move-in date here where I discovered to my dismay that the wall for the bed wasn't wide enough to accommodate the new, as yet undelivered, nightstands! Scrambling th the help of my niece, I found two others on their website that would work. But would Pompanoosuc Mills honor an exchange of two custom made nightstands for these different ones? They would! Understandably they voiced a wish I'd realized this sooner--as did I, of course. The new nightstands won't be delivered until the first of the new year. But that is a very small price to pay for being able to deal with a company that has truly bent over backwards to keep a customer happy. Beautiful furniture made by a beautiful company staffed by beautiful people! So looking forward to getting the new nightstands and so thankful for all at Pompanoosuc Mills.

I got a fluffernutter iced latte. It was so good! Not too sweet either! The baristas were some of the nicest people ever! We chatted about the weather and this winter while they whipped up my drink. Apparently the back part of the building is an antique shop! I didn't get to check that out as I was heading to work! The antique store/coffee shop offers the best of both worlds for those whose ideal day is getting a coffee and going antiquing - there are tables in the back, among the antiques, where you can chat, lounge, and read a good book. The antiques are all at good prices, and there are also charms all around the store, for those into charms/trinkets! The staff was so kind and relaxed - even under pressure! The coffee beans lining the wall made the store smell like coffee, and the antiques around you made you feel like you were in your New England grandmother's kitchen, waiting for a perfect cup of coffee. The specials were so inventive and clever, with gorgeous art to showcase their inspirations - I had the peanut butter cappuccino, but there were SO MANY other ones I cannot wait to try! Make sure to stop in and enjoy this absolute paradise!
