The store is open format, filled with so many options that without Aileen guided us our choices would not have been so easily identified. Her attentiveness to our needs and interests made the visit highly productive and satisfying. In the current market of self service and anonymity, Aileen made us feel seen and heard which made our sale more than a purchase of 3 pieces of furniture - it made our sale a customer experience which guarantees our return to EA. Thank you Aileen - P.s. the photo is the fabulous pattern we chose as we forgot to take photos of the actual furniture.

Once they did,…read morethey were mostly helpful and willing to accommodate (in between attending to other customers.) They do have a nice array of furniture for sale, including some top of the line pieces. We were able to find a complete living room set: sectional, love-seat and matching table for around $1,700 in total. To my knowledge, this retailer does not offer price matching options if you find it lower at another store. But I don't even think another store would necessarily have the model in-stock that we ultimately decided on. So far, the furniture has held up nice, almost 3 months later. Perhaps we'll return back later on if/when it's time to upgrade our granny suit with new furniture.

I purchased a couch from Southworth's Wayside furniture store, 3261 Winsted Rd, Torrington Ct, on…read moreOctober 11, 2017. It cost $1799.99, $2073.77 with tax ,delivery and fabric protection. For the past 5 years it was used very lightly. Without incident, the frame broke and the cushions are sagging. I went to Southworth's Wayside with the Limited Lifetime warranty in hand. They said that covers only parts and not labor. They sent out a repair man who said it would cost $275 to fix the frame and that the cushions were all "shot". He said that type of cushion only lasts for 2 years. The interior of the couch is constructed out of plywood. I didn't want to dump more money into a poorly constructed couch and asked them to come and take it away for me. ( I literally live 2 miles from them.) They said that would cost me $100. At the price of this couch I expected it to last longer than 5 years! Do not buy furniture from Southworth's Wayside Furniture since they do not standby what they sell.

"Gimme three steps, gimme three steps, mister Gimme three…read moresteps towards the door?" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) After we had our hardwood floors and steps sanded and refinished, we decided to pretty up those steps with a carpet runner, which explains why we visited Galaxy Discount Carpet Store today. That decision ended up being a FIVE STAR experience. Their two floor showroom is just incredible! Sample boards, rolls stacked on the floor in rows, area rugs hanging from the ceiling, gorgeous stuff everywhere. We met with Charlie and explained to him what we were looking for. He said that staircase runners can either be pre-manufactured in big rolls, or custom cut from carpeting meant for rooms. We knew we wanted a runner in some shade of gray to complement our wall color, and decided on a carpet runner to be cut from a big grayish roll and then finished with black binding along the edges, to complement the black stair rail and contrast with the white stair risers. It was installed 72 hours later, and that was pretty amazing in it's own right. Communication with Galaxy was great. Charlie was a dream to work with, the installers called us the day before install to confirm the date and time window, and the van with two workers arrived as scheduled mid-afternoon and did a neat professional job on the install. Charlie's price was $140 less than one we had from a flooring company out in our neck of the woods, and the carpet quality was better at Galaxy. Everything went well, and the stairs look great!

I ended purchasing a chair here after a furniture store down the road wasn't helpful. Overall the…read moreexperience was okay I can't say it was stellar. The fabric selection wasn't as plentiful as Ethan Allen. I didn't like the fact that they were graded but they didn't tell you the scale. An H or a G means nothing to me unless I've studied your scale already. Of course the price differences weren't listed either. When I asked to see my fabric and wood finish combination they sales manager wasn't able to pull it up visually for me on the computer. The software used only allowed him to show me the fabric on the chair and it didn't even look anything like the fabric I picked. Don't walk in expecting a "designer" to help you with your vision because I felt I was on my own. I walked in with a few styles I had in mind. I have tons and tons of pictures but for some reason I was directed a different direction, I'm glad I'm stubborn or else I would have been sold a piece I could have gotten from Bob's. This is a decent place if you know exactly what you want, if you walk in with no idea what you want they'll sell you tons of upgrades. They often have specials so that range in the 20% to -25% range. I bought my chair here and so far I'm content with the purchase. Let's hope they deliver on time.
