This is my favorite store to pop into from time to time. The owner, Emily, has such great taste and I never leave without buying something (and wanting to buy more). Wonderful eclectic goods including print and original artwork, antique home goods and furniture, consigned new and vintage clothing...there is something for everyone. Prices are fair and items move fast! Love this store!! Pictured are pieces in my home I have purchased at the White Rabbit.

First weekend getaway to Hartford, CT and we made a beeline to the farm stands for pie and then to The White Rabbit. Read the reviews about the eclectic and well-curated vintage items and found this shop lived up to its reputation. We walked in to a sunlit shop and browsed through prints of butterflies and dragonflies, locally made soaps, dishes, houseware, cards, intricate vintage jewelry. You progress towards the back of the store into a second room for more furniture, artwork and toys, then to a third room filled with a mix of new and vintage clothes. I used to be a regular shopper at thrift stores, but now that I'm older, the musty smell aggravates my allergies - The White Rabbit vintage area has no irritating smells at all! In the era of Covid19, I was worried at first walking into the back room, but all the clothes, shoes and hats seemed professionally clean before they were put on the racks. Amazing selection of dresses from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Prices are fair and reasonable. I bought a black wool bucket hat made in Italy for $20. The owner told us there were other vintage stores on the same street, but they didn't seem as clean or as stylishly curated as The White Rabbit.

The store is larger than the one we customarily visit in Simsbury, so I didn't feel cramped walking around alongside a fair number of fellow shoppers. It's very neat and well organized inside and seemed to have a lot of merchandise. I saw the usual dishes, housewares, women's and men's shoes (including some gorgeous Air Jordans), shirts, blouses, outerwear, pants and jeans, plus sportscoats and men's suits ($25 or so). Some of the more unusual things I saw was an impressive collection of "I Love Lucy" memorabilia, and hiding among the audio CD's was a William Hung CD! He made quite a splash on American Idol 20 years ago, and if you're too young to know who he is, go check him out on YouTube. I bought a long sleeve white dress shirt, a red tie, and my wife bought a long sleeve top. After the 35% discount we paid an obscene $16 for everything. Yes, quite the bargain indeed. PRO TIP Parking is a bit of a toss-up, their lot is micro-sized, so you'll probably end up parking on a side street like we did.

They offer paint and all the supplies you need so you can paint it your self. This is such a unique concept. In addition to the wide assortment of furniture, you'll also find some small locally made goods, like candles and hair accessories. This is a very small store, the items are placed so intentionally, so there is plenty of walking room, without the fear that you'll walk into anything. I really loved Cindarella's Attic, if you're looking for a special accent chair, or a dresser in a unique color this is the place to go.

Jessica is pretty talented when it comes to refinishing furniture so we don't need to pay someone else for their time, since Jessica can do it just as well. She uses great colors, her prices are fair, and she gets some pretty quality pieces. So far we've bought a Thomasville french provincial dresser and a 1930's Art Deco vanity. She does have pretty nice costume jewelry (not really my thing I am a dude), paint for furniture, handmade soap and other assorted items (we got some pretty sweet porcelain door knobs too). We haven't attended one of her classes, but on Saturdays you can learn how to paint furniture (shabby chic style), and you leave with the piece you worked on. If you appreciate things like dovetailed drawers and actual wooden furniture check this place out.
