Amazing. Until…read morerecently, I hit up thrift stores in Massachusetts. A few in Springfield, one in Westfield...they were okay. Every once in a while, you'd find something. This one? Not only did I have an ARMFUL of clothing to try on the second I walked in the door, but EVERYTHING (except the green ticketed items) was 50% on Wednesdays. I ended up spending under $40 and walking away with two huge bags of treasures that included four pairs of shoes, some great outfits and some housewares. Not only was the stuff there amazing and cheap, but the workers were so nice and friendly, as were the customers. I don't normally talk and joke with people when I shop, but I did here. The only thing that keeps this store from getting all five stars is the fact that it only had one changing room. I had a cart full of merchandise and felt badly that I was holding people up (even though I only tried on four things at a time and let others go in between, I did have a LOT of items--and it would have been nice to really take my time when trying things on instead of rushing.) Also, while this is not the fault of the shopkeepers in any way, but...doesn't anyone with GOOD music taste donate their records to charity? It's all Barbra Streisand and Mitch Miller and the Gang. Give me some Tom Waits, dammit.

(Only sad that I went all the way there- happy that it wasn't in that location anymore because it was pretty sketchy). I did go to the new location in Vernon and it was pretty big. It looked like it had a ton of potential, but nothing there for me this time :( I would definitely check back there if I'm in the area!

I had a highly dissatisfactory experience with MACC Charities. The worker I spoke with (Shan non)…read morelacked empathy and there was a sense of her gaining satisfaction in her efforts to humiliate. She was unsupportive and verbally tried to discourage me from my life's aspirations. She went so far as to pretended to be an expert in a field she is not, all in efforts to derail. I asked her not to speak to me in a condescending manner, and she continued to abuse her false sense of power. I reached out to this organization during a time of need and was told by the worker that they don't "do hand outs". That if I was a worker for a company instead of being self-employed or unemployed (with no UE benefits), they'd have helped. In other words, they try to bait people into mediocrity and don't help those who need help. It's also been brought to my attention that their employees are not reflective of the population they supposedly serve (ie: lack of staff diversity). Perhaps they need to be audited to ensure their funds are being appropriately allocated, and ensure fair business practices. I discourage businesses from investing in or with the MACC organization. I also advise that their employees be mandated to take (and pass) unpaid sensitivity training and do mandated volunteer work in urban communities so they can gain perspective. I advise you donate, invest or partner in an organization that's more customer centric in their approach to humanity.

"Nobody's perfect, how could anyone be? Nobody's perfect,…read moreespecially me" (Sheryl Crow) We were treated in a perfect, professional, friendly and very respectful manner by Geoffrey and Debbie when we brought in an old mahogany pedestal table for them to sell on consignment. Our table certainly isn't a fine antique, but unlike the way we were treated in a similar furniture store and a lamp store trying to sell other items, we were so impressed by the way we were treated here. Geoffrey has the bedside manner of an old country doctor, he was just fantastic the way he examined the table, pointed out various features to us, questioned us on its history, and gave us his assesment of the expected value. It was like being inside an episode of the Antiques Roadshow. He explained the consignment process to us and while we were walking around admiring everything in the store, Debbie had drawn up a contract and explained every step of the way to us. When the table sells, we split the proceeds 50/50 with Perfect Piece and that's fine with us. We were given a website and consignor number so we can check in on the sales status of the table. Regardless of how this transaction ends up, we had a FIVE STAR experience.

You'll find your typical consignment clothes there more for the younger adult and teenage group but…read moreif you still fit in those pants and shirts, who knows what you'll find there. I usually come here when I want to find some softly used dress pants like an H&M brand that doesn't break my budget. You'll find everything sorted by color or type like a shorts or pants. I walked out with some decent dark green pants that lets me explore colors in my wardrobe without it being too much on my wallet in case I don't like what I purchased. I know there are times during the year that they remove seasonal clothes just like any other retail store so I would keep an eye out for those times to really take the savings. I haven't sold anything to them lately but I do know that they are pretty fair and quick with their assessments. If you are looking for some adventure in clothing this could be a nice stop for you.

I'm a young woman with similar tastes to what's in fashion and always keep my clothes in great condition, no pilling/rips/stains etc. I'm very thorough and familiar with the process. I go back after receiving a DONE text very shortly after we left. They took NOTHING. Gave bs reasons as to why, but I graciously took the bins to Salvation Army drop off just like I always do after. As I'm donating them I see that they are folded EXACTLY HOW I FOLDED THEM. UNTOUCHED. Meaning that these lazy little girls just glanced at the top layer and tossed it aside to save themselves some work. I've never had this issue with their sister store, Once Upon a Child, they are fantastic. But Plato's... this is utterly ridiculous, and makes me not want to even shop with you anymore.
