They sell higher end consignment clothing plus shoes, handbags, hats, and jewelry. The store was impeccably stocked and everything looked neat and very well organized. We have a formal function coming up this summer with a "Black and Gold" theme, so we've made a habit of going on these treasure hunts to various thrift and consignment stores for a black and gold bowtie as well as a black and gold long dress. We left ReVive empty handed because they do not sell any clothing for men, and they don't stock any long dresses. Nevertheless, we very much enjoyed looking around and visiting with the owner. Each room has an overall theme of a sort. One room seems to focus on kitchen, another on study or bedroom, and the main room has day to day items of home décor. Browsing is easy -- the aisles are wide enough to turn around without knocking something over, the placement of items keeps your eye moving. Their clothing racks are organized by color and size, and everything is in excellent condition. I however am mostly drawn to their home items, like their plates and dishes. I once picked up eight dessert plates for 15 cents each. None of them had a single scratch or nick. They have a whole bookshelf of hard cover books for just $2.00 each. There's plenty of jewelry, I saw a really cool pair of large pearl earrings, but they were clip ons. They also have some beautiful artwork, that's already framed. They consign an extensive range of Junior & Women's clothing, household Items, home décor, artwork, fine and costume jewelry, silver & gold handbags, shoes, scarves & accessories, small wood furniture, books, CD's, DVD's, gifts, and collectibles. They recently introduced men's clothing to their selection, though currently, their men's inventory is limited to around a dozen outerwear coats and a few colorful bicycle racing jerseys. This place takes your items, has you sign them over, and then sends a receipt telling the consigner what the item will be listed for and potential payout. My instinct was to take my items back as that made no sense to me, and I take responsibility for not taking my things and leaving. To find out that, as per their website, the new unworn and unused items worth hundreds retail would garner an average of $9.00 per piece was stunning. I would much prefer to donate to someone who could really use the item rather than get less than $10.00 for a dress that retails for $150 and was never worn. Lesson learned. I'm selling online from now on.

I always take a look at the men's shirts first. I was very surprised to see them tagged at $12 here, which is substantially more than I customarily see at the Simsbury store, where I've picked up quite a few similar long sleeve Oxford shirts for $5. Otherwise, the store is very neat and organized and has the usual accompaniment of clothing, footwear, accessories, household goods, books, etc. I'm definitely a fan of thrift and second hand stores, and even though I was looking for a long sleeve white shirt, I walked out empty-handed today.
