I finally got the chance last weekend (mid-June 2022) after finding Re-Inspired had in stock something I desperately needed for a découpage class online two days away. First, the place is adorable. Outside and in, it's just a happy, pretty little place. Sharon, the owner, took time from her lunch to answer some questions I had--so generous with her time! And Holley, her assistant, was amazing. Since I was there primarily for the line of Fusion paint and accessories, she gave me soooo much info and tips on achieving the beautiful finishes on many furniture pieces in the store. She was an absolute delight. I got what I was looking for--plus a bit more for a different project--and had a good time in the shop. For those looking for decor or gift items, there's a lot of beautiful things there. It was my first visit, and I was amazed at the thousands of varieties of stunningly colorful annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, and more. Rows and Rows of beautiful flowers everywhere. We ended up buying four flats of pretty pink and purple perennials @ $2.95/flat. The Raspberry Parfait Dianthus will really beautify our mailbox. They also have a store with all sorts of home decor and furnishings. Note that Coward Farms is open during the year in three distinct time periods - Spring from May 1st - July 3rd, Fall from Sept. 1st - Oct. 31st and Christmas -starting the Friday after Thanksgiving.

My friend was visiting me, so I thought I would take her here because it looked like a beautiful small business. When we entered the shop the two older white ladies gave us dirty looks and I could tell we weren't welcomed. As my friend and I were looking around and enjoying the merchandise, I could hear the two worker ladies gossiping about watching us because they didn't want us to steal. Another group of white folk came in and they paid no attention to them at all. Already, this made me upset as they thought I couldn't hear them gossip. I am not a confrontational person, so I just ignored it and proceeded to shop. Then one of the ladies asked me to put the item I was holding on the counter. My friend asked to look at the rings, then after she made her decisions, I proceeded to check out after her. The lady rung up my items (which I had gotten a variety of small kitchen items) and told me after I tapped my card, "Oh good, your card went through." It made me feel so degraded to be treated that way by someone. I wanted to return my items then and there, but I believe that would prove the point that she believed I wouldn't be able to afford the merchandise. It is extremely disappointing to experience this and I really hope that they do better here. If you want your small business to thrive, please treat everyone with respect. Also, respectfully, save enough money buy security cameras instead of micromanaging a people of color that comes inside your store.

Their website describes their inventory as "career and casual fashions and accessories, dozens of gowns and cocktail dresses." My wife is in the market for a specific dress for a Black and Gold banquet during the summer, so we stopped here today to check out their inventory racks, and there sure were a lot of them. Shoes, boots, dresses, tops, scarves, handbags, furs, hats, and a few home furnishings were everywhere, and they all looked to be in excellent condition. We didn't find what we were looking for, but we sure enjoyed checking out their stock.

For me, the biggest selling point is that I didn't feel totally exhausted after leaving the store. The store is well-lit, has a good vibe, and allows the clothes to breathe. I first…read morediscovered Lyric Hill Farm's goat milk soap at a farmers' market back in 2014 or 2015 -- after buying a few bars of their rosemary mint soap, I was absolutely hooked. Over the years I've purchased different scents (all made with natural herbs and milk from the farm's goats) and even bought mini versions as favors for my sister's baby shower in 2017... get it? Soap? Shower? Ha! Most recently, I've been smitten with the lavender goat milk powdered laundry detergent. I love the charming tin it came in and it's awesome that Nancy (the farm/biz owner) will also offer refill purchases so you don't have to buy a new tin each time. I'm on my third refill and just got a 64 oz bag so that'll last me a while. It's so nice to get the scent of fresh natural lavender when I'm washing clothes instead of a noseful of chemicals. It's the little things! The farm is a lovely place to visit and a really nice drive leading up to it. Granby has some scenic roads for sure - plus, stopping by for laundry detergent gave me an excuse to hit up Grassroots for some ice cream down the road!

There's an upstairs with a coffee table, a bean bag chair and two chairs (and lots of artists wares for sale on the wall). There are a few tables outside, so waiting until it's warm enough or ordering To-Go would be my suggestion. I shared pictures of the beautiful breakfast plates we received. The food was delicious! The sausage I asked for in my Eggs Benny was delicious! They were clearly homemade sausage that had a nice rosemary flavor. My husband's breakfast star was the chef made ham steak slices, and the rosemary sourdough toast. Yes, I recommend the food here! We were rather disappointed by the temperament of the person we assumed is the owner... when asked if they would please lower the music a little, because I'm healing from a traumatic brain injury (and it was blasting commercials and music; it wasn't a pleasant music track or album), said with an attitude "Sorry I can't control where the speakers are", and from that point seemed a lot less friendly. Her attitude didn't ruin the taste of the food, but this was a special outing (my first in 3 years since falling on black ice), near Goodspeed Opera House. This is a touristy area and people that run breakfast/brunch spots are usually friendly and eager to help with small requests. Often interactions with the restaurant staff adds greatly to the experience. Her sour grapes and refusal to help me feel comfortable by lowering it a smidge (I was already wearing noise cancelling ear buds, just so you understand how loud it was and that she didn't turn it down even a tiny bit), made breakfast less nice. We won't be returning ~ there are so many restaurants struggling to survive after Covid, we'd rather spend our time and money there.

She showed me around a few racks of sport coats and suits she'd picked out in advance, knowing roughly what to expect from our phone conversation, and with my reactions, quickly worked her way to my tastes. As a saleswoman, Lorry doesn't push - she just showed me stuff and went with how I felt. She was even honest enough to tell me, when I was hedging on a jacket, "if you're doing that now, you'll do it every time you put it on. It's not worth it." I eventually ended up with a gorgeous wool suit, circa early '70s, which was exquisitely dry cleaned and pressed (which she does with all her merchandise). She priced the comparable suits she got from this source at $225, but this was for her Manhattan market. As a first-time customer who was a student and from her hometown, she let me have it for $95. It needed a little bit of tailoring but she gave me a very complete recommendation for what to do, how to have it done, and who to take it to. The rest of our conversation was about mutual friends/family who we discovered we had. I was there for an hour and a half! You almost feel like an honorary nephew or something in this place. A breakdown: Prices: I didn't get enough of an idea with other merchandise to determine, but these are not thrift store prices. Then again, they're not thrift store items, and she'll work with you. Selection: extensive, sometimes kooky and sometimes very wearable, consistently vintage (lots of 50s-70s). Experience: very pleasant and focused entirely on you.
