Great finds, really! And great prices! It's reasonable for the quality of clothing. So much better than musty clothing at a thrift store; everything there is in good shape. I love going there. The only problem I have is the hours. Wish they had some Saturday hours. It can be hard to get there from 11-5 on weekdays. Also- I've never seen the best shoes there. This is a thrift store that does NOT have a depressing feeling (old, shabby, dark, unfriendly staff etc.) Instead, they always have a nice music, helpful staffs, plus nice displays both outside and inside the store. It's clean and in order. They have a variety of collection, from dresses, office suites, casual outfit, shoes, to a vintage section. A lot of them are good quality branded items, available in petites to large sizes, and they're in good condition. Since it's available for women only, this store often feels like your female friend's bedroom - a comfy place where you can dress up and try different outfits together. They continuously have sales so you'll get a bargain on top of what's already a bargain price. The money goes to the Clearview, a non-profit mental health agency. This shop is wonderful. We stopped in to get out of the rain and look for an umbrella. Instead I got two sweaters, one that's 100% cashmere, from Talbots, and another that's 100% cotton from J. Crew. The staff were so lovely and fun, and I'm thrilled to learn the shop supports Clearview, an organization for people who need support for their mental health. I've been dying to check out this thrift store since I moved to Albany. Over the Christmas holiday, I finally got a chance to stop in and I'm so glad that I did. The store has a wide variety of women's clothing and accessories. You'll find everything from casual t-shirts and tank tops to business attire and formal dresses. It didn't seem like they had restrictions on the types of brands or styles they accept. So, don't come here expecting to find only designer brands and trends for 20-30 year olds. (Although, that doesn't mean they don't have designer items. There was a great size 12 Dior jacket on the rack while I was there.) You'll have to spend some time going through the clothes, but if you do, I think you'll find something. The store is well organized, clean, and has good lighting. There are two large changing rooms. In my opinion the prices are lower than what you find in most thrift stores, including Goodwill. I found six items for $29. Most we're $8, but marked 30%-50% off. I also found a sweater for $2. The best part of all is that the price tags are attached with string, so you can easily cut them off. At a lot of other thrift stores you have to deal with staples in the tags or on the items. This store is awesome! Their window displays are great. When I first walked in, my first impression was that there's a lot of 'old' clothes but that wasn't the case when I started browsing. I found a gorgeous dress for $7 and several other items that looked brand new. I'm petite and it's hard to find my size in thrift stores so I'm definitely coming back! They have special sales and stuff so call to enquire. They had 'Buy one get one half off' the day I was there. They only accept cash or check so be warned. read more

This thrift store gets major points for always having great window displays. They seem to have undergone a re-vamping of sorts within the last year and it's working well. Run by the Clearview Center, Great Finds is primarily staffed by clientele of the center who are trying to get their life back on track. Totally commendable. The thrift store sells in women's clothes only with a particular emphasis on clothes for the working woman and for job interviews, etc. They have a larger plus size section than at many thrift stores too, and two dressing rooms. Prices are very reasonable, even for the items marked "vintage" on the special retro racks. There's also a decent selection of accessories. Employees are always very helpful and kind. One time I became obsessed with a dress in the window that I kept passing on my way to work. When I finally decided to stop in and buy it, I showed up just as they were leaving and locking up and the day before I was leaving for a two-week vacation. I wanted the dress BADLY and explained my predicament to the shopclerk, who promised me she would put the dress to the side when she went back in the morning and attach my name to it. When I came back two weeks later, I wasn't too hopeful, but sure enough, she was true to her word. Where else do you get service like that? They also operate a small coffee joint that's sometimes open. I think it's called Jazzy Java or something like that. read more

I just shopped at GreatFinds. I came away with three dresses, a shirt and two necklaces for a great deal. The place is filled with A LOT of very nice clothes, shoes and handbags. Also, the store is well laid out so you can see all the items easily. Besides getting very nice things, there was something that made it an extra special experience for me. I am in Albany for a Self-Advocates of NY State conference, supporting people with disabilities and their families to advocate for changes they need. While shopping there I learned that the store supports an agency for people with developmental .disabilities called Equinox. Aditionally, they give meaningful work and opportunities for job training. Every time I go in I am able to find a bag full of items and they are always the pieces of clothing that my workmates give me complements on. I found many items on clearance but they had a $25 bag sale for spring & summer items which made everything even cheaper!! Don't get me wrong, it's great that this place is philanthropic and all, but other than that there isn't really anything special about it. I was really looking forward to stopping in because the window displays always look great, but it took me awhile to get around to it since they have limited hours. The place reminded me of a small version of a salvation army, the clothes aren't cherry-picked, like you would find in a well run thrift store. I found a well worn 'faded glory' (Walmart brand shirt) for 8 dollars, which is about what it would cost new. I also found a Banana republic sweater, which was riddled with holes, listed for 10 dollars. Not to mention that there was a mannequin displaying a dress with a prominent stain on the front. Maybe I'm just spoiled, but unless I am in a Goodwill or a Salvation army I expect that the clothes will be decent brands in decent condition. read more

I loved this thrift store! I definitely had a pleasant experience here. The workers were so nice and the other shoppers were super friendly as well. There was a ton of great stuff of good quality although there weren't many clothes of my size that caught my eye. There was definitely a ton of adorable trinkets and stuff to decorate the house with though! Window displays were creative and fun, they really put me in the mood to shop. The place smelled clean, which is important to me when I shop consignments. I don't like musty smells when I'm clothes shopping. Everything was neat, orderly and easy to look through. I found a great embroidered pocketbook that was 30% off, only $7.50, score! This one wasn't for me. I thought the ambiance was the kind that gives thrift stores a bad name: the music was really static-y and really loud, there was a funky smell, the floors had industrial carpeting, and, most importantly, the clothes were marked at surprisingly high prices. Also, a lot of the inventory seemed to be outdated: lots of Liz Claiborne suits, old Aigner shoes, etc. Their windows are gorgeous, which is why their interior was so surprising. read more

The problem is, I just started a new job with 8-5 hours, alas, your store is only open 8:30-4pm. Like others, I was attracted to and tempted to visit based on its window display. Looking at the window display, its hard to believe it is in fact a thrift store.
