My friends and I like consignment shops a lot, but this shop is not one of the best in the area in our opinion. As a shopper: I came a few times to shop with friends for grandchildren, but my friends and I were disappointed in the selection, sizes available, and the high prices. In addition, the Staff were not welcoming or even helpful. They seem preoccupied. As a consignor: I consigned a nice designer girl's size 6 dress that had a lovely sash that was an integral part of the dress design. Later, I was told the dress did not sell because the "sash was lost." It would have been nice to have heard, "Sorry, but we can't control theft." No, the dress was briskly handed back to me, and the owner (?) quickly walked away. read more

I do not recommend you to waste your time in this store!!!!. I had to book an appointment for over a month. The day of my appointment the lady called me and told me that she had to re-schedule. seriously!!!. I live far from town (almost an hour) I already planned my trip around this damn appointment. Amazing consignment shop with only the best quality clothes! Christian music playing in background & a wonderful atmosphere! I come here every year to spend some of my birthday money because you get great things for way cheaper than another store! I've scored Kate Spade purses for half off, Hunter boots for way cheaper than retail, oil diffusers, and so many cute clothes. They have a great selection of baby clothes as well & toys! Maternity section isn't large but they have nice things! Mens section could be larger but it's more of a girly store. I love how they have local items people make in the community in the store as well. It gives it a market- type vibe. I come to this place often & always leave with something! After following their lengthy rules about bringing in clothing for them to review for purchase, I brought two boxes of like new clothes, some with the tags still on. I brought in one small box of clothes and I had another box in my car. I was told I could only bring in one box total! After letting them know the effort it took to follow all their rules and make the trip, along with letting them know that several items were brand new with tags, the owner decided I could bring in the second box. The owner begrudgingly went through everything while in the meantime I had to fill out a form on their computer with my personal information. I didn't want to do this until I had an idea of what she was willing to pay me for the clothes, however their rules are THE RULES. So I filled out the form while the owner selected the items she wanted. She offered me an insultingly paltry $30 for a small pile of new and like new clothes. I paid double that for just one item! Don't waste your time bringing in your clothes. You will be treated like a second class citizen by a very rude "Christian " woman (and I am a Christian woman myself, who knows how to treat others.) There are other places in the area or you can sell them online on Posh or eBay. I gave the business two stars because they have very nice children's clothing. Good luck. read more

It was ok there. I went there cause it was high end now I'm thinking who is that for really.....definitely liked that you schedule appointments and they are very prompt with the schedule which is great! Other places take hours. Reason for 3 stars (being generous I feel )they do not tell you the number of items purchased and the not so high end other consignment shops pay a lot more so that was was very disappointing. In my eyes consignment is consignment it's all about store appearance . Please stop saying your a high end store . In all honestly its the appearance . It was not packed with items so looks nicer for appearances and shopping. Selection is limited. read more

I have been going to Polkadots for about 10 years now, back since when my daughter was born and they were at a previous location in Guilderland. It is great to be able to score items at a fraction of full price. I remember going here when my daughter was a newborn and I was desperate to find a baby carrier that worked for us, and ended up buying and trying out three different ones for about the cost of one new one. This store is very nice, clean and neat, nicely decorated, and a nice size (much larger than their previous location). They have changing rooms, bathrooms, and even toys for kids to play with while you shop. I mostly shop for kid's clothing, shoes, toys, and women's clothing. There is more a selection for younger kids than older kids, but I still find great stuff like jackets and even clothes with the tags still on. The items are all in very good condition, often like-new. It isn't just clothes - there is jewelry, toys, sporting goods, dance/gymnastics apparel, home goods, books, etc. If you choose to consign or sell items there, there is a selective process, since this is more of an upscale boutique. (e.g. clothes that aren't pilled or stained, certain brands, newer styles). When I go through my items to consign, I try to go through everything in a well-lit room so that I don't miss stains. There is a consignment option (where you pick up your items that haven't sold after a period of time), or fast cash (you drop off your items and they make an offer). I am so busy that I go with the fast cash option, which is very convenient. This isn't a chain and I like shopping local and supporting local businesses. read more

This is a fantastic consignment shop. They have a great selection of women's clothes, and the clothes are in excellent condition. Some are even new with tags! Their prices are also very fair. I find that they are actually more affordable than Goodwill. It's a nice, large store and clothes are hung in an organized way, grouped by size rather than color. This makes it a lot easier for me to shop. They have a sizable children's and maternity section, neither of which I would shop from, but I felt it was worth mentioning. The men's and housewares sections are small, however. I'm glad I live so close by - I'll definitely be back! read more

I went into this store and there wasn't another human being to be found. After walking around for about five minutes and not finding anything worth buying, still nobody emerged from the depths of the store. Only the blaring music with the words of "being made in the image of God" accompanied me as I looked at overpriced items. What a weird store. Maybe if they had at least one friendly face present or not as blatantly obvious religious overtone, there may have been a customer in the store other than myself. read more

This is one of the bigger consignment shops I've been to. It has a nice variety of clothing and most of the things here were trendier than what you would find at your typical goodwill and you won't have to do as much digging to find something decent but of course that will come for a price. Dresses and Blazers will run about $20. A blouse will be about $10-15. If you could find a good brand then its worth it but then a lot of the stuff are from forever21 and like brands so it wouldn't really be worth it to pay for those. read more

I went to sell some clothes on consignment today, and the experience was just... weird. I was greeted upon entry, with no visible patrons in sight. I said, "I'm looking to sell things on consignment." The woman who greeted me referred me to their website, proceeding to give rather lengthy directions on what to do. She said to look there. Okay, but I was already standing in the doorway and they weren't busy. So I asked, "Could you just tell me now since I'm here already?" She said no, because "it was too much to rattle off." She literally denied me the information because it was too inconvenient for her to have to talk to me. Just to have a pleasant conversation with me, in an otherwise empty store. I've never been so awkwardly offended in my life. It's like she looked at me and said, "Eh, you're probably not worth talking to." While they have an okay selection of casual (mostly juniors) clothes, this store is nothing compared to Fifi's. It's clean and organized, at least, but always pretty empty, and it seems that their stock doesn't rotate much. I can't imagine why. I gave it an extra star because the young girl who works there in the evenings is actually very sweet and helpful. read more

Brought a whole box of clothing--made sure it was all in good shape and the brands they would accept. Wasn't expecting lots of money but something? Got a text that NOTHING was accepted because it was either "too loved" or "not the styles that sell for us" In looking at their racks this just didnt seem right--saw plenty of things that were really loved and I guess their target customer is not the average middle aged woman. Disappointed but I guess someone will be getting some very nice clothing. Wont be doing that again. read more

This is one of my all time favorite consignment stores! I am both a seller and a buyer and have done so for years. The brands are right on target and sell for great prices. If you check back, there are often sales going on and you can score Anthropologie, Johnny Was, Free People, Tahari, Modcloth, True Religion....for much less than retail. One thing to consider if consigning is that they will only take clothes that are in great condition and in style. Some other reviewers are upset that their clothing was not accepted, but I would rather the owner be selective about what she takes and sells rather than taking everything that someone throws at her! I am always treated with kindness and consideration- they are never too busy to answer my questions. Love it here! read more

Can't say I was impressed with my experience here. I was looking for somewhere new to sell my clothes since the local Platos closet was only offering store credit. I researched the story online and decided that fast cash would be my best bet, in terms of time and effort. I called the day of to verify that I could bring my items that day. When I arrived the lady took one look at me and told me to come back and tried to hand me a business card. I tried to explain to her that I had already been on the webpage and had the completed form, she huffed and took my stuff rudely. I cannot believe this store got any bad reviews! I both consign and buy there. Yes, they are very picky but that's what makes it great to buy clothes for my family there....you know it will be perfect when you buy it! I've been coming for years and everyone I have ever worked with is awesome and honest. This has not always been the case at other consignment shops. I make tons of money. If people are disappointed that they won't take their items for consignment it could be because you can tell it's been worn (like I said all the clothes are perfect) or outdated. I like to shop here, but stay away if you want to sell anything. I made an appointment and only brought it top designer clothing, Anthropologie, Free People, etc. After waiting 10 min for them to go through my clothes, the only feedback I got was that they would not except anything due to "wear and tear". First of all, I have seen many items in the store that are faded, outdated, and show pilling. Secondly, a couple of items were purchased and never worn. I was extremely disappointed with their lack of substantial feedback. You can't tell me an item I just took the tag off before I went in the store has wear and tear. After all the work I went through to make the appointment (which is not easy) I was at least expecting them to be honest and fair. I walked away completely perplexed on what they are looking for. The only reason I will be back is because I do find things I like to buy there when I go, but do not waste your time selling to them. read more
