They wouldn't take a $3,000 couch, with USB plugs, working electronic recliners (repaired since picture was taken), and a undamaged leather/synthetic leather upholster I delivered to their doorstep because... one cushion on the back of the middle of the couch had a open zipper. Mind you, not a broken zipper. A zipper that was unzipped and which, if cleaned a little, would close fine. Also, completely invisible when assembled. The... unabashed arrogance of a supposed "Charity" to refuse something like this furniture for such a pedantic reason when I physically brought it to their door step is astonishing to me. Not only will I never recommend this place again to friends and family, I will go out of my way to bring up this story to anyone I know. It is ridiculous. I feel bad leaving a negative review for a charity shop. Five stars for Habitat, but not for this store. We went to Restores back in Iowa and Indiana all the time. There were brightly lit, well managed, and full of useful materials, tools, and furniture. (One even had a tool lending library-- I miss those days.) This Restore was a real shock. We came hoping to find some end tables and/or a rug. We left quickly because the store was a mess. Lots of stuff, but poorly organized and a lot of it seemed way overpriced. A lot fewer tools and materials for building projects too. I mostly found myself wondering how they stayed open! read more

I went to the ReStore looking for kitchen floor tiles. I was shocked to see how much of a used furniture store this place is. Other ReStores I've visited (in another state) focused more on salvage and re-using construction supplies, but this store is the complete reverse as their construction and repair supplies are very minimal and most of the store is focused on used furniture. I found some gorgeous hutches, tables, chairs, and bedroom sets. All vintage and dark stained wood. Excellent condition. There were many other less beautiful but just as functional pieces. Prices seemed reasonable. There's one room dedicated to smaller items like wall art, dishes, forks and other odds and ends you'd find in a thrift shop. If you're like me and you try to buy second hand as much as possible to off set what goes to the landfill, Restore should be your first choice when looking for quality home furnishings. read more

Although this restore is nice and does carry some nice pieces, the prices are outrageous! $14 for a banged up piece of art work? Shop on Wednesday's their 50% off day so the prices aren't so bad. At these prices you can buy new or close to it on some items. Used to always shop here-not so much anymore given the price increases. read more

Now it" s deteriorated into shabby cast off furniture and exorbitant prices in the main stores three stars go to the secondary building full of reasonably priced hurricane shutters, hardware, electrical supplies and cabinets. I couldn't recommend the Restore more highly for buying anything household related. They have furniture, appliances, tools and construction materials, and now even a gift shop with pots & pans, books, and anything else you can imagine. I renovate homes for a living, and around half the tools and materials I use I find at the restore, for anywhere between 10% and 50% of their price anywhere else. Seriously... 10%! Their volunteers are extremely friendly and helpful; I couldn't ask for a better experience shopping there, and interacting with all the wonderful people that generously donate their time to Habitat for Humanity. I look forward to seeing some of them each week I go in. Their inventory changes all the time, so it's worth going in on a regular basis to look around and see what's changed. I'd say around 1/3 of their inventory is brand new (or looks that way), even with the discounted price. Definitely worth checking out! read more

I still miss the old restore since it was more convenient for me, the hours were less so I got many great scores there, this one I have not. . I'm trying to get over it. I know it's all to support a good thing but they also got a little too pricey on a lot of things and then other things will be priced accordingly. A lot of their older furniture (not antiques) just the run of the mile items are priced more than what you would find online or at a garage sale. A great place for kitchen cabinets if you get lucky at the timing you go there. Sometimes you can even get new ones but most are lightly used. Timing is everything when you go here because you'll never know what you'll find or not find. If you are in the area and have a lot of time to stop in maybe you'll score a bargain and will help supporting a good program. read more

I used to love coming here to find things to re-purpose or re-use. I have found some good bargains over the years but in the last 6 months their prices have become outrageous. You can get better quality stuff for cheaper on Letgo and the Facebook Marketplace. I could not believe the price on a used area carpet, $298. They are becoming as bad a Goodwill. Sad though. I have always loved Habitat for Humanity as an organization and had the privilege of working on a build in New Orleans. When the Restore came to Albany I was really excited. I love thrift stores anyway and this one was the cream of the crop for amazing bargains and great merchandise. Recently the store changed its hours, which makes it much less convenient, but in addition, the prices have gone up considerably. Last year my rating would have been a 5 star rating, no question. Unfortunately it's dropped to a 3 based on hours and prices. read more

I called them with a beautiful couch, chair and wall unit. I also got an email saying that they need pictures. I had to drive about 25 miles to take them. Keep in mind the couch and chair had always been covered since the day my mother bought them. The chair was never sat in and the couch was sat in about 10 times. I take the pictures and respond to their email with the pictures. Over a month ago and the don't even have the decency to write back. Well, I decided not to give it to them and my sister in law knew of a needy family. They got everything. Chair, couch and wall unit for free delivered. When they got it they had tears of joy. They were much more deserving than these people at habitat for humanity. I will never give them nothing and I will find a needy family first. read more

This store used to be much better with more inventory when under different management. Keeping in mind that everything is donated, the prices can sometimes be too high. They have very limited days open and now require same day pickup of items. If you don't have a truck for large items the day you purchase, you are out of luck. read more

This location used to be a great place to donate items and find some great bargans. Well I don't know what happen, but it is now poorly run. My wife and I shop at 2 habitats in Fl, not a fancy area, but a good area. Let me tell you they know how to do it! Organized and tons of good stuff. To add more insult to 70 Fuller Road, the large Habitat we stop out, built a new restore! The Fuller Rd. restore has communication issues, who ever is running this place needs find a new job. They do not return emails, they do not return phone calls and here is a real kicker they want me to pay them 25.00 per their recording, to pick up items. Look, the Fl locations do not charge and they are more then happed to pick up your items, as well as take drop offs... They should just close this restore and call it quits. Terrible way to run a donation center. read more

If you're in the middle of any sort of home renovation project, or need some accent furniture pieces in your house but don't want to spend a ton of money, this place is for you. They have tons of cabinets, a good selection of doors and windows, lamps and light fixtures, microwaves, couches and tables galore...the list goes on and on. They also have a room with miscellaneous items such as plates, glassware, and collectables. Staff has always been friendly and helpful with dropping off donations or picking up items and bringing them to the car. A much cheaper alternative to Silver Fox Salvage (which is way overpriced), and you can feel good about your purchase! read more

This is a LEGIT thrift store. Essentially people donate furniture and building materials to Habitat for Humanity and they sell them in their non-profit store. You can find some GEMS here on the cheap. You can find SO MANY THINGS to build a house or home. They have kitchen cabinets and countertops, shutters, windows, mattresses, tables, chairs, dressers, lamps, ceiling fans, cinder blocks. And today I purchased an Elton John record for $0.99. I f****ing love this place. I go here when I don't even need anything just to walk around and look at all the weird things. And sometimes you can find some nice or even valuable pieces. This ReStore is amazing! It's like a thrift store just for your home! They have furniture, storage, appliances, light fixtures, you name it! I especially love how usable items are "rescued" from demolition or the dump, and given new life in a new home! I find lots of great things here both for my home, and also for re-purposing and upcycling into creative projects! They have a combination of newer stuff and also unique vintage stuff. Their pricing is spot-on, in exactly the right price range for folks in the thrift-store budget bracket. Too many thrift stores these days are getting inappropriately expensive, and their intended customers will actually skip them to get a better deal on NEW stuff at places like WalMart. Not these guys! ReStore knows who they are, who they serve, and the mission they stand for! Besides shopping and browsing there quite regularly, I have also donated items. MalRon and the rest of the guys in the donation warehouse are awesome at their jobs, and brighten up your day with their friendliness and humor! Everyone in both the store and the warehouse is helpful, friendly, and truly seems to care about their customers and their mission of serving the community. I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you catch them when they're not busy, the staff is so friendly and wonderful. Some of the items can seem a little overpriced for what they are- but building homes for underprivileged families isn't cheap. My boyfriend and I bought two gorgeous vintage dressers here when we moved in together earlier this year for less than $200 total. And we recently purchased some old shutters that we're turning into a headboard. We come here just to walk around some days because there's always new inventory and something worth daydreaming about. read more

Not only do they serve as an excellent household furniture reuse center for the Capital Region, they also go above and beyond to support the local community. Recently, they were kind enough to donate to the Caitlin Clancy Memorial Golf Tournament in support of the Guilderland High School Scholarship Fund. In doing so, they helped provide scholarships to seniors in the Guilderland Central School District. We are so grateful to have businesses like this in the Capital Region, who choose to give back and spread goodwill. read more

While the selection here is pretty large, a lot of the furniture is damaged. It's also really overpriced compared to what I've seen on Craigslist. Now, I understand this is a charity, but all of the furniture has be donated. Why would I pay money for a broken dresser that would otherwise be given away for free on the side of the road? The less damaged furniture can cost upwards of $300... for something that was donated to them for free. While I didn't necessarily go into the store expecting to find something in my very meager price range, I was mostly disappointed in the volunteer I met there there. At first, he came over to help me, which was nice. When I responded to one of his questions with "Well, I wouldn't be here if I had a ton of money!" he got indignant and straight up told me my comment was messed up. It's messed up that I would get myself quality furniture if I had the money? That I'd choose functional shelving units instead of the broken pieces here? I'm all about consignment shops for my clothing, but I'm not about to spend $350 for a used dresser I could have gotten new on clearance at a department store. read more

This store on Fuller Ave. in Albany is clean and neat. They have a big variety of furniture, light fixtures and cabinets for bath and kitchen. The prices are fair and the people are helpful. They have both new and used items that have been donated. Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity. It's worth a look-see. read more
