Please indulge me for a moment, for I would like to share my most recent experience with this team. I own a beautiful diamond and sapphire ring that my mother, who is now deceased, gave to me. I had the appraisal done by a jeweler, that I used prior to finding Dunbar. Unfortunately while on vacation one of the diamonds fell out and was lost. I wasn't too worried since I had the ring insured. I brought the ring to Michael and Hilary, along with the appraisal to have the repair completed. Unfortunately the appraisal that was given from a jeweler who will remain anonymous, was incorrect and quoted the diamonds as half their actual size. Therefore the insurance company was only willing to reimburse me for one-third of the total replacement and repair cost. Chuck and Lucy having listened to my story, offered immediately to compose a letter for me to send to my insurance company, along with the corrected appraisal. Today I was notified that because of the letter and new corrected appraisal, the total repair will be paid by the Insurance Company. Can you imagine my surprise and joy? Especially with the holiday season upon us, this additional expense was going to be difficult. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Chuck and his entire team. They did this for me, with no financial gain for them. The integrity and kindness shown by the Dunbar team will keep them forever, as my number one choice for jewelry!!!

The associate showed me there was a loose diamond in my engagement ring and suggested that we send it to be fixed and to have both rings rhodium plated. She said it wouldn't be a problem. I call to check on the status on Wednesday, as I noticed that she had put a "promise date" of Saturday on the slips. An associate calls the repair shop and they state that they will overnight them that night so that they'll be in by Thursday. I'm thrilled. I call on Thursday to check if they're in before making the 30 minute drive out... I get told by that same associate that unfortunately, the shop had NOT overnighted the rings but that they will definitely be there by Friday. I'm not happy. I get a call today (Friday) stating that they're in. I drive out to the store, and as I'm putting them on, I notice my engagement ring is now actually MISSING a diamond. Do they not have a QA process before sending rings out?! I'm beyond disgusted. I then ask the girl at the store how quickly they could get this back to me given that it's their error, and they say a week would be a "rush".... $6K engagement ring and that's the type of "service" I get?? Why are Kay customers forced to go without their items for so long? Doesn't seem like their focus is on customer service/satisfaction. I wish I never had to deal with this company again. Disappointment, again and again. So when I come back from my anniversary trip in a week, I'll have to go without my ring for another week... Unbelievable.
