I also get some supplies and shelving there that was cheaper than retail price and it was good quality as well as strong enough for the items I am storing in it. I love this store and hope to come back soon as it is my favorite store to go to and closest.

But we think they deserve a little extra credit. Sure, they have some good products at discounted (sometimes VERY discounted) prices, and every now and then there's a stumble. But the store's employees (at this location, anyway) seem well trained, pleasant and helpful when we're around. Further -- and importantly -- the store has a sense of community responsibility, which is probably part of a larger management philosophy that we heartily approve of. One example: if you buy a winter coat for the store to donate to the needy, you get a $40 store certificate in return. It seems a good deal for those in need; we know one of the recipients, and we think this is a genuinely caring project. So yeah, there's an occasional complaint, but overall we're very happy to shop here and expect to continue doing so.

The Torrington location is great. Stands out amid sadder versions of Stop and Shops and Big Y stores in the area. Service is terrific. Selection ample. Feels like I'm "getting something" for my investment. Just a cautionary tale: For all of the new shelving, floor tiles, paint, and displays, there comes a price. And just because it's merchandised expertly - it doesn't mean it's worth the value it's priced at. IE: Hellman's mayo, is Hellman's mayo at any store. I love the store. I love that they have an array of Central NY brands (Hoffman's, State Fair/Speedie, etc). But I always make two lists: what are the wants from Market 32 and what are center-store grocery needs that can be purchased for 20% less elsewhere.

I also appreciate that they carry a good variety of brands, like the Boar's Head meats and Cabot cheese I picked up. Checkout lines can get a bit busy at peak times but they move at a decent pace and the store is clean and organized. Prices are reasonable for the area and they often have good sales. Overall, a solid grocery store that makes weekly shopping pretty convenient.

Most Michael's associates are very friendly but not this woman. I told my husband what happened so he wanted to help me and proceeded to check 2 other overhead bins of yarn for me because he knew how bad I needed it. After checking two over head bins I asked him to get for down, but he wanted to make sure the bins was secure ,his exact words was " I wouldn't want a baby to come in this aisle and this fall in his/her head the same woman associate back came and yelling at us as if we was children even though my husband was already off the ladder and said she didn't care what we had to say,she followed us to the front of the store while still yelling at us screamed and said demanded we should leave, i continued to do my self check out and still purchased my items . Shortly after leaving the store the called the cops called and we was told me can not come back to this store which is unfair since it's the only craft store in the town ,this is unacceptable!!! I been shopping at this Michael's for over 5 years and now because an associate was having a bad day i can no longer shop there. And yes I made a complaint, the response was a20$ gift card that was never even emailed to me. I care less about the gift card and more about the mistreatment I received.i make crochet items, baked goods and jewelry , and this is no way to treat a loyal customer .

After your transaction on the register you get a coupon also for your next trip, but make sure you use it before it expires though.

A couple of things about this garden shop. First, it's much larger than you might think from the road. There are lots and lots of flowers, veggies and other garden items; no quarreling over the choices to be found here. And for the most part the staff has proven helpful. Mostly. Our main issue is over the prices -- this is not a shop for anyone operating on a budget. And in the spring of 2024, it's pretty expensive here to buy potting plants, perennials, hanging baskets, fertilizer, potting soil, vegetables and the like. You may legitimately argue over whether the likes of Home Depot and Lowes can match the quality here, but they certainly do better when it comes to pricing. Check it out -- you may disagree. But at least you have been cautioned.

What a pleasant surprise! This place is a lot bigger than it looks. We found the very hard to find Donkey Tail or Burrito succulents! We bought 2 of those, a String of Teardrop, and a tiny String of Pearls. I also found the most beautiful rain gauge there. They had a really nice selection of all landscaping plants and flowers, even a nice sized selection of houseplants. Everything in this store is well taken care of and healthy. Lastly, the prices were very reasonable. I can highly recommend this place.
