This Target is located in a big plaza in Torrington. There were plenty of parking and self scans are the new norm; there were a couple of registers with cashiers, when I went as well. I've done a couple of orders pick ups from this location; everything was smooth and efficient. The customer service was good. Shopping at this place is similar to other Targets; they have pretty much everything you need. There's a grocery area, a CVS, and a Starbucks in there. The store looks organized and well stocked the few times I went. I recommend the red card for 5 percent off your order; they have some good sales/clearance sections too. In the end, a good Target and definitely my go to. read more

We're fond of this Target, which is our neighborhood store. It's well stocked, is invariably spotlessly clean, and has mostly friendly and helpful employees (we've encountered an occasional grumpy cashier). We went looking for pillow the other day; this store has a very good assortment of various types, all reasonably priced. The store has grocery items, a Starbucks and a CVS inside, the latter carrying some products we especially like (Like Harry's shaving gear). Haven't shopped the clothing sections much, but they seem full and busy most of the time. There's good parking outside and plenty of baskets. And best of all -- it's not Walmart. read more

What has happened to Target? It has become one of the worst places to shop. Push carts are frequently blocking products and aisles, zoning is terrible, and you can see trash sit on a shelf for over a week. I have seen a starbucks cup sit in the same spot for almost a month with the same name as it slowly grew mold. Disgusting. I could have blamed all of the on hours being cut which is 100% corporate but what I can't excuse is the crappy customer service from some employees. There was a signage issue that advertised a gift card if you purchased 3 products over $10, when I went to check out it didn't come up. At guest service the woman went back and there was a different sign on the back wall saying for Tide detergent it needed to be over 12.99. Mind you the other sign was in-aisle in front of Tide detergent. They absolutely would not honor the price. Another example. I bought a bag of Tostitos that had a coupon on the bag from the manufacturer. With the purchase of any Frito Lay chips 7.75 - 13 oz you saved $2.50 on any Frito Lay dip 15 oz or larger which I also had. It even has a picture of the dip I bought on the coupon. It would not scan at the register and the cashier was nice plus I know cashiers are limited to what they are allowed or the system will allow them to do so I went to guest service. The guest service person went over the coupon several times and kept trying combinations in order to get it to go through. It wouldn't even though she confirmed that my purchase me the requirements. She called another person over, not sure if they were a manger, but I basically got a line of BS at this point. It must be for my next purchase of chips and dip. The problem with that being there is no way to track if it is the next purchase. What if I go to Walmart and make the purchase there next time? If I don't scan the Target app, how do they know I bought this the first time? The other problem; for a coupon to make that type of requirement it has to be clearly stated on the coupon which it was not. In the end I didn't get the savings and when I contacted corporate I basically got 'tough luck you'll have to take it up with the store' (not an actual quote just the overall sentiment. read more

I purchased a $50 vinyl record as a Christmas present. When we played it Christmas day it skipped so we brought it back to Target o. December 26 to exchange it. We brought the album to customer service and went back to electronics to pick up a new copy. Unfortunately they were out of stock so we went back to the service desk and requested that a new copy be sent to us. Maddy explained that they could not send a new copy they could only exchange it in the store since the album was opened. I didn't want a refund, I just wanted a record that didn't skip. She called another associate and they checked with a manager who confirmed that there was nothing they would do except exchange it in the store for the same record. So I am stuck with a $50 Morgan Wallen vinyl album that we can't listen to and can't be exchanged because that is Targets policy. I have never received such horrible customer service in my life. read more

Considering that the only other mass-merchandiser choice in town is Torrington's own piece of Hell on Earth, Walmart (No, I'm not even considering K-Mart because in my opinion, they should have went out of business 5 years ago), I love Target. They have some awesome clearance deals (look for end shelves with random miscellaneous items all dumped together on them, like in the health & beauty department) if you're willing to dig. Plus, everything in Target is cute. For comparable prices to Walmart, their stuff is better quality and more aesthetically pleasing. The bathrooms are probably the only public toilet I will willingly use without hesitation, the bathroom (ladies room anyway) is always clean and smells fresh (faintly citrusy) and they have those awesome hand dryers that actually have a useful high amount of air flow to blow the water off your hands. There's also the requisite Starbucks...although I wish Torrington would get an actual freestanding one, none of this in Price Chopper (now closed) and in Target garbage...but an ACTUAL FREESTANDING COFFEE SHOP...but I digress. If I know something is cheaper at Walmart or otherwise unavailable at Target, it now PAINS me to go to Wally World (which for the record, is practically next door) because Torrington's Target is just THAT awesome. read more

The parking lot is a bit of a bear, but the store is always clean and reasonably well stocked (unless it's a post holiday rush, in which case seasonal is a free-for-all). I always go in and find things I never knew I needed, and can justify it by the fun clearance and use of the Target card! Yay 5% savings! One thing that drives me nuts about this Target is 1) they seem to forget what express checkouts are for except on Black Friday and the day after Christmas, and 2) they always have a million employees but only one on a register. Apparently they don't train everyone to ring, so while you're waiting in line to purchase two items, you can play "Count the Red Shirts" while unoccupied employees wander around the courtesy desk. read more

Always always always a delight coming to target, but especially the Torrington locationI don't know if it's the friendly staff, the store layout, or the excellent selection of clothes, food, etc. but it is always a joy to come here. Not only are the prices reasonable, but the women's clothing selections are cute (with a wide range of sizes for everyone), the kitchen towels are to do die for, and the seasonal section has everything you could possibly want for summer, spring, fall, and winter. I recently purchased outdoor furniture for my new apartment's deck and have been pleased not only with how awesome it looks, but how well it's held up through rain, sun and even snow (thanks New England weather). I think I speak for everyone when I say target is a magical place and I'll be returning many many times in the future. read more

Almost everything I was shopping for at Target was sold out. Perhaps it was due to the timing, a week after Black Friday, however, I still found it frustrating. These were the most basic kitchen items, nothing trendy. I would definitely return to the store and try again, however I might go elsewhere first. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. They had their item mis labeled and mis priced, and tried charging $100 more. I have the picture of it before hand. After they went to check the area they were changing the signs around to make it look as if my friend who was there picking up the item was a liar. So they know they were wrong and lied to change it. Im sure one of the cameras there caught them changing it as it was different once I went back again. You messed up labeling I shouldn't be charged $100 more for your mis labeling. read more

I have no laugh because no matter where I live, it takes me 40 minutes to get to a Target. When I lived in CT / when I visit my parents in CT, I have to drive 40 minutes down to Torrington. Now that I live in Manhattan, via public transit, it STILL takes me 40 minutes to get to a Target. This chick can't win. But I digress... This Target is a welcomed addition to the small Northwestern Connecticut shopping scene. I used to drive more than an hour to the Target in Lanesborough, Massachusetts or relunctantly settle for Torrington's Wal-Mart while masking debilitiating anxiety attacks, so the day the doors opened to this store, I could hear the angels singing their angelic choir over my head. Quite beautiful, really... This Target is very clean and bright, with an excellent selection in ALL departments. Their women's clothing section is one of the better ones I've seen at ANY Target, and they have plentiful dressing rooms as well. There is a Starbucks which makes any Northwest Connecticut resident drinking it feel ten times cooler. (Trust me...that used to be me. I used to keep the used cup in my car's cup holder to show off. Damn straight.) Also, the Pizza Hut dining area, though I've never partaken in it, seems to be very convenient to families with hungry, screaming children. Oh, Torrington Tar-Jay. How do I love thee? I hope you give those associates major praise and even some kind of reward for standing up to that awful fellow and even asking him to just walk away and mind his own business. Coming in early October: This Target will get a full-scale grocery section. In the meantime, things are a little messed up, as the whole place is being renovated. Some sections are half-empty. It will be worth it eventually, but for now, grin and bear it. Employees are helpful and unusually friendly. The jewelry/accessories section seems bigger and better stocked than other Targets. Everything is very clean, especially the ladies room. read more

It's your usual Target, with a Starbucks on site and quite possibly the most futuristic lavatory in Torrington. They have a pretty decent selection of goods, as expected, and the store is generally quite clean. They're very punctual about seasonal items, so get them while they're available. read more

Ah Target. What I like to call a glorified Wal-Mart. This Target is the same as the rest. Large, clean, a little more pricey then Wal-Mart on somethings but the clothes quality is way better. The employees there are average. Some can be very helpful and some can be very vague. Had a run-in with a bad employee once but I'm not going to judge the whole store based on that one experience. I don't see the point of them adding a Grocery section to the store though. You have Price Chopper and Stop and Shop right around the corner. I think it's a waste of time and money and I hope it doesn't get rid of some of the things they provide that Wal-Mart doesn't. I recommend it. I go to Wal-mart for things and then Target for others. read more

The basketball system I wanted was out on the shelf but I was easily able to find someone who located it in the stockroom and brought it out for me. They opened up a register so I didn't have to wait in line and helped me load it into my vehicle. The store is remodeling but they are not allowing that to distract from keeping the store looking good and providing great service. read more
