But we think they deserve a little extra credit. Sure, they have some good products at discounted (sometimes VERY discounted) prices, and every now and then there's a stumble. But the store's employees (at this location, anyway) seem well trained, pleasant and helpful when we're around. Further -- and importantly -- the store has a sense of community responsibility, which is probably part of a larger management philosophy that we heartily approve of. One example: if you buy a winter coat for the store to donate to the needy, you get a $40 store certificate in return. It seems a good deal for those in need; we know one of the recipients, and we think this is a genuinely caring project. So yeah, there's an occasional complaint, but overall we're very happy to shop here and expect to continue doing so.

The store was squeaky clean, free of clutter in the aisles, the shelves were stocked with easy to read pricing, and the staff was super polite, friendly and very helpful. As you walk through the store, you'll find markdown sections, where the pricing gets even better. For example. We picked up two packets of sunflower butter for a quarter each. We also got a super nice 4 Quart covered pan for $20, nicely priced Zip Lock bags, aluminum foil, shampoo, Lever soap bars, laundry detergent, some soup, and beef jerky rounded out our eclectically random order. To make things even better, if you previously shop at Big Lots (like we have), you'll occasionally get a $10 off of $20 coupon and random offers for free stuff, like yesterday's two-pack of Kleenex tissues. So, with our discounts, we paid just $37 before tax for all of that random stuff, including the $20 frying pan. Good pricing, a pleasant staff, and a neatly stocked store combined to provide us with a very enjoyable shopping experience.

They have coolers for cold food, regular groceries, greeting cards, seasonal, paper products, etc. Aisles are okay size, and the store is big enough where you can avoid other shoppers. There are some places admittedly better faced than others - picture frames are discombobulated, but seasonal Halloween looked picture perfect. The cashier was really friendly with the best register "bell" to summon him I've ever seen.

(And when it isn't, we've found management is cheerfully quick to supply an apology and a swap or refund.) But speaking of management: This store has had some darned good ones. And one of the very best has just returned: Paul. He is smart, store savvy, wonderfully outgoing with customers and from what we hear a favorite with employees because he is genuinely caring. And helping him now is Tyrone, who is another top-flight manager. Together they make a great team and ensure that customers always feel they matter. We've visited other JL stores but not one, no matter size, can match this one.

It was more visible when Hallmark and Kmart were there. But Price Rite carries on, and they have a really interesting selection! It's like a warehouse store trying to be a regular grocery store. They have the basics - cheese, seafood, spices, flour - in grocery store sizes, but in warehouse selections. "You want this normal bag of flour? Great, heres a pallet of the name brand, this is our only option." But the prices are good, and their spice selection is wide to the point I would recommend trying here for more obscure ingredients. They also have fun impulse buys. I did not need Chick-fil-A Polynesian sauce, but now I have my own bottle for chicken. The prices are pretty reasonable as well, even with inflation. I'm not sure how they manage to only sell Pepsi drinks, but hey, if that's your drink of choice! Overall it's a nice market and fun to check out.

Shopping at this place is similar to other Targets; they have pretty much everything you need. There's a grocery area, a CVS, and a Starbucks in there. The store looks organized and well stocked the few times I went. I recommend the red card for 5 percent off your order; they have some good sales/clearance sections too. In the end, a good Target and definitely my go to.

Feels like I'm "getting something" for my investment. Just a cautionary tale: For all of the new shelving, floor tiles, paint, and displays, there comes a price. And just because it's merchandised expertly - it doesn't mean it's worth the value it's priced at. IE: Hellman's mayo, is Hellman's mayo at any store. I love the store. I love that they have an array of Central NY brands (Hoffman's, State Fair/Speedie, etc). But I always make two lists: what are the wants from Market 32 and what are center-store grocery needs that can be purchased for 20% less elsewhere.
