Today after picking up one I was informed the coast was $80, much to my surprise, because for a number of years there was no co pay on this particular one. I asked them if it was run through my insurance and they said it was, without offering any further assistance. My wife went down and they did not assist her either and were slight rude. Long story short we called our insurance carrier and they had changed the med to a different tier in their system which in return resulted in a higher copay. Now I am not saying CVS in Torrington is responsible for this by any means, but come on, a little customer service notifying us it was a different brand would have been nice and a great help. Especially from someone that pledges an oath to patient center care. All said and done, I will not be going back to the Torrington CVS.

I know if it's an emergency I should be calling 911, not calling a pharmacy. I've spent up to half an hour on hold before giving up, they don't even have an option to call you back. The place is VERY difficult to get in and out of, I guess probably marginally better than the one on East Main St., which I avoid anyway. Really wish they hadn't bought out RiteAid, they were much more responsive and convenient.

There are many phone prompts before you reach a person who asks questions and then sends you to the survey. It is time consuming and worthless. You can complete certain actions online like ordering refills, but you cannot speak to a pharmacist apparently. This system is broken. Shame.

And we were there long enough to see that her pleasant attitude wasn't just for us but for others waiting as well. The other staff members behind the counter were capable, and only one of them seemed rushed and surly. Otherwise the store was fairly well stocked, and we found what we were searching for and checked out without a problem. We have sympathy for all pharmacy workers; during Covid they have been overworked and stressed, and we appreciate what they've done.

The layout of a line for pharmacy and another for vaccines was great. The staff was professional and moved efficiently getting the paperwork set. The pharmacist was a knowledgable and friendly, making sure I understood the process, the side effects and answered all the questions I had. The feel of the store is more like a mom/pop drug store rather than a chain, which I appreciate. I don't get many prescriptions but they have been helpful then as well. Clerks in the front are helpful and efficient. I have always been greeted and thanked for my business. Again, small store feel with lots of products that people need for a decent price. I have not found long lines here. Last but not least, I have witnessed people coming in with demanding and rude attitudes. Not once have I seen a staff member snap back or reply with rudeness. Rather, if they didn't have the medication or item requested, I watched the pharmacy staff call other Walgreens to help the person out. Good people.

There are several negative…read morereviews from a few years ago, but we believe a close look at this operation over the last 12 months is overdue. And we strongly believe that in just about every way this store has improved. Sure, you can find issues here and there, but let's briefly examine what's going on now. First, the pharmacy has seriously expanded, in space and staff. They can use more people behind the desk for sure, but they are moving in the right direction. And those people have been very professional and friendly in all of our interactions with them. We've gotten a lot of vaccines over the last year, making quick online appointments and getting the shots on schedule. The pharmacists have not shied from offering counsel. Our prescriptions are handled efficiently. In spite of crowds at the pharmacy at certain times, everyone almost always seems to keep their cool. With the restructuring of the pharmacy, shelving at the store has become more crowded and challenging -- there is not infinite space -- but we've found staff helpful in locating specific items. And the cashiers and others working at the store have pretty good attitudes given their increased duties. They can get pissed at times, but then it is often the customers who lead the way (we've watched this unfold too many times, sadly). The stock of seasonal items and cards remains pretty good, and prices aren't outrageous for items we've looked at. Everything here is a bit more cramped than before; that's the downside, but we don't see where they get much room to expand. Anyhow, we have found this CVS to be improved and improving, in most ways, and we feel they deserve credit for that.
