This Walmart is the closest one to my area, but I'm thinking of maybe looking for another Walmart or Target to go to. The lines are always long and there's always about two cashiers open, you're lucky if there's a third one. They have self checkout but not only is that line long as well but most of the time either one or all self checkout registers are down or only take debit or credit. I wish I could give this Walmart a higher star rating but unfortunately one star is the best I can do. read more

Why do I go here? Lines are always long. Not enough registers open, which likely means they aren't staffed or they have trainees. The self checkout moves pretty well, but if you need a manned register, expect to wait. Thank goodness for smart phones. I bought a bundt pad from this store online on June 30th 2023 using a Master card, I was charged #35.43. I had a photograph of the order from Walmart web site which I sent to my daughter who was trying to pick this pan up for me. They refused to give her the pan for which I had paid. That is fraud. The guy who refused her would not give his name and consistently said that he could not find the order even though I had sent a photograph of it. Never, never, never go to this Walmart in case you run into such disgusting lack of service and outright fraud. read more

I forgot how horrible Walmart is. Today I was reminded. I was going to buy a whole bunch of stuff there today, too. Before driving to this Walmart, I checked online to ensure the inflatable mattress I needed was in stock. When I arrived they weren't on the shelf. Two different associates that I asked blew me off as if I was interrupting them, so I asked for a manager. Her tablet indicated there were 50 in stock. They were in the back room, but they were blocked by other merchandise. They refused to even try to get to one. Instead, the manager suggested I come back later or go to another Walmart. I can't imagine this happening in any other store. I guess I'm off to Target. And I'm deleting the Walmart app from my phone forever. read more

Prices are quite competitive, but the store is a bit messy and the shelves aren't well stocked.  I came here to get all the Thanksgiving items that was part of Ibotta's free Thanksgiving deal, and they only had 2 of the 6 items in stock.   I got a 2 liter bottle of Coke Zero and put it into a bag slung over my shoulder as I shopped around the store.  Partway through my shopping trip, I feel some wetness on my leg--the bottle was leaking!  It got all over the other items in my bag, so that was a bit annoying. I rarely venture into a Walmart, but when I do, I generally know what to expect... not much. I really had to use the restroom, so I headed to them. Both the Men's and Women's were "out of service", so I went into the Family one. I was surprised, and amused with the 2 toilets in there... an adult sized one and one that is low to the ground for the children. I thought that was really cool! I bought a plain t-shirt that totaled $3.90 tax included ... bargain! I was disappointed because there were no sweats for women in stock, guess they are seasonal. There were a few leftover pairs of XL and XXL in the Men's Dept. I found the store to be clean, as in not dirty/filthy. However, with employees stocking, it does make it more difficult to get around. And so does having fallen merchandise scattered on the floor. I don't understand why shoppers are so careless and have the need to trash the store? Walmart always seem to attract the customers who really could care less, just want the bargain price while leaving a mess in their quake! Although, this one is not quite as bad as the one on Normandie that I just can't bear to walk inside. I don't understand why, in the design of the store, why they completely closed off the other entrance/exit that used to be there when the store was Mervyn's. There is a parking lot over there still, and people don't want to park there and walk around the corner to the only entrance/exit. Just doesn't make sense. Oh well. What a treat to share a retail store's Opening Day. I have been to MLB's opening day game in Chicago, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, but never Walmart. Guess I can't say that any longer. This is what Walmart is supposed to be. Clean, well stocked, a lot of helpful staff, open cash registers with well-trained cashiers, fast-moving lines, and about as much of a wait as you would expect on Opening Day with a full, FULL store. I mean the parking lot was full, the isles were full, the baskets were full. The only place with no line was at the Returns counter. Ha, that will change. I hope Walmart closes the store on the other side of town - it's filthy outside and in. The isles are a bit narrow. I heard one fellow complaining loudly about this. Then he yelled at his wife to hurry up. I am not going to complain about the isles any longer. read more

So I've been coming here for almost 6 years now. I figured it was time for a good solid review. I would say 8 out of 10 times I come to this location, curb side pick up or walk in, it's mostly all good. For the most part, they can be pretty quick at bringing your items like how the associate Jay was today. As I've mentioned before if you follow me, I'm a mama of 5 children so even a "quick run" to Walmart isn't so quick! So just picking up a few items that can fit in 1-2 bags is a huge help to me! So I'm grateful when they move quickly and are so friendly like Jay :) He personally gets 5 stars But this rating of course is for all the trips I've ever had here. If I'm completely honest, some trips left me feeling a One Star rating. But like I said, I am not rating on just one trip. It may not be the best experience every time but it's mostly a pleasant one. I feel like now days, it's hard to find good customer service. I work in it myself..and I hear feedback all the time on how great I am and how terrible others can be. I always try my best, and I feel everyone who works in customer service should try their best too & if they hate their job so much, then maybe it's time to move on. There's a few associates that I just will not speak to because they definitely do not like their job at least a little bit. It shows in their body language, as well as how they speak/treat me and others. It's not hard to put a smile on your face and be a little nice. After all, no one forced you to come to work. Natalie is another great associate here at this location. She's so helpful and sweet. If everyone could take a look at how these two employees work, this overall rating from others may just increase! This Walmart has horrible customer service. It takes one representative 15 mins to help a customer with a return. Mean while there is a long line while other representatives just walk around doing nothing. The management at this place needs to get up off there chair and walk around and step in to help if need be. I will never make a online purchase again or even a purchase from this store. read more

I love Walmart, and everyone should shop at Walmart, but this is a good time to tell a good story of what happened here last week that is Soooooo Walmarty: I pulled up to the register with 5 items: 3 boxes of breakfast bars--all the same, 1 box of plastic sandwich bags, and 1 pack of AA Batteries. When I pulled up, there was just one other customer in front of me and the clerk was telling her to just slide her credit card into the machine. The woman was having difficulty getting the machine to accept her card--she could not slide it the right way so the clerk just kept her to keep trying. While the clerk is telling her to keep trying, the clerk scans my 3 boxes of breakfast bars and box of sandwich bags, , (but not the batteries?) and then puts them into a plastic bag. Finally the machine takes the woman's credit card and guess what--the woman was charged for my breakfast bars and plastic bags! Because the card was not finalized before the clerk started scanning my stuff--it ended up on the other customers cards. Supervisor had to be called over--she was giggling--and apologetic. Supervisor scans the 3 boxes of breakfast bars in and gives the woman cash and runs off fast. Supervisor had to be called back because she forgot to also reverse scan the sandwich bags. They start all over again and get it right the second time. No proactivity here. The clerk should have waited until the woman completed her CC sale or at least confirmed if the items were hers before scanning and the manager should have asked what items were incorrectly charged. No one is speaking up to ask any questions and the store did not have any dividers at the register. read more

How is this store still in business? I'd give it the zero stars it deserves. I came in today to return an item purchased online. There was only one cashier very (!) leisurely processing returns while simultaneously chatting with customers and employees. I waited in line for over 20 minutes while at least 10 employees passed by just as leisurely and without a care in the world. I mentioned the long wait to the cashier and she nonchalantly replied that she's the only one at the time. No apology or concern about the wait. When I left the line for returns/ customer service was to the door. How hard is it to assign an additional cashier to process returns considering one clearly can't keep up? And if that's not a possibility, one of the managers should step in to alleviate the wait. Non existent customer service and zero efficiency. DO NOT make returns here! Or shop here. read more

2 stars for the short stock of inventory, customer service that doesn't exist, cleanliness & organization also non existent. And as always, zero stars to the part of interesting beings that patronize it. To be fair to the business, the zero stars & the section of unruly savages with no manners are an entirely separate review. And this is actually the better Walmart from the other two that are nearby - Harbor Gateway being the worst one. What makes it worst is that it is smaller & always run of out everything you go there for, as far as the department store. Food section usually stocked well. Parking isn't always an issue, as it's in a large shopping complex along with other big stores. But, if you want a peaceful shopping experience it's best to go early mornings & for the seasonal items, go months before they sell out. But as far as the bare essentials, most of the time they run out as soon as the put it out on the shelve & take forever to restock and for that you'll end up going to Target or Big Lots. read more

Walmart is in my opinion a notch above Kmart and a notch below Target in terms of overall evaluation of the quality and experience. This Walmart is near (across the street from) The Del Amo Mall. It's a decent, safe and clean location. It's a rather organized Walmart too, the isles are clear of clutter and the patrons seem civilized and respectful not to leave things on the floor or messy all over the place. You'll find staple items, food items and nearly everything and anything you may want for everyday home life. The pricing can be fair most of the time and quality is "you get what you pay for" when shopping the brands n' bargains. Parking is easy, to avoid the crowds, you can even park near the Subway, Verizon and Chili's (where the old Blockbuster Video used to be ages ago) or over towards Staples, Toys R US and FYE: For Yor Entertainment. read more

The selection of merchandise is very small and it seems that some other items are just out stock. They do on the other hand have lovely Pots and woks, I think I will be ordering one for delivery this week. Basic items that you can usually depend on, just were not there. [Review #48] Taking over the vacated Mervyn's, this Walmart is smaller than others in the South Bay. The shelves & racks are neatly stocked, (depending on the categories/items) even in the evenings (wow!), but the aisles are narrow (to cram more stuff in). :-| I stopped in to pick-up ice cream cones & powdered sugar to make ice cream cone cupcakes for my l'il one's birthday. I'm bringing them during her classes late afternoon snack time as a surprise. In addition, I ended up finding some cute T's & scored fabric (an ocean/marine life print to be used as part of the "fishing" game... only 1 yard was left but I can make it work). The only issue I have with the crafts dept. was no one was available to price the fabric for me, & an employee from another area needed to be called in to assist by the electronics dept. And she wasn't familiar with the inventory & just said what I see is what's available. REALLY? You can't take a quick walk back to check since I've already waited several minutes for you? I thought those red guns can also inform you what's in inventory. Well, at least, that's what I've seen at Target with their guns (& they look very similar to yours). The rollbacks are ok, but you're not always getting the cheapest deal in town. And what happened to the personal greeters when you enter the store? Wasn't that their thing? LOL The very few times I've been here, the shopping carts are strewn everywhere but the "return cart" spaces (a "good" example of the type of people who shop at Walmart). The trees in and around parking lot of that store are suffering because they grew beyond their "support tape". That tape that was helping tree to grow straight is now 1) not needed 2) killing the tree by stiffling and choking it inside its body. Take those tapes off of the trees!!! read more

This store has the worst customer service experience in life; i ordered a product online for easy pick up; i was scanned and out to the side for an hr then to told they don't have it and call customer and it was my problem and their cancels my ordered and left me standing ! Wal-Mart 22015 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance CA One star ONLY because I couldn't give ZERO stars. (This rating is specifically for the LACK of cleanliness in the Ladies Room, AND ESPECIALLY for the inept Management of the store -- LETICIA.) I wanted to use the restroom shortly after arriving at the store -- but it was a disaster... No toilet paper was in the holders (they hung open at their hinges), trash was all over the floor, and there was one unflushed (poopy) toilet! I decided to wait -- thinking, surely SOMEone employed there would come in soon, to straighten/clean it up... Nobody serviced/cleaned the Ladies Restroom in the first 30 minutes I was there (trash was still everywhere, there was still no toilet paper in the holders, and there was still POOP in an un-flushed toilet) -- so I asked to speak to a Manager. I brought the restroom's awful condition (& showed a video of it) to Manager, Leticia. She said it would be taken care of right away. After I had been in the store FOR AN HOUR, I went back to try again -- but NOTHING had changed. The Ladies Room was still a filthy mess. (I was shocked!) I spoke to the manager AGAIN -- Leticia -- and she made an EXCUSE ("There's only one person doing maintence.") I let Leticia know that the person responsible for maintaining the Ladies Room should be spoken to (even repremanded) for permitting it to become such a terrible mess -- because it had been in that same condition "for over an HOUR, plus" .. but she spoke OVER me, to add an UNapologetic, slightly sarcastic: "sorrrr-eeey" ... as she slightly smirked. Leticia was SO rude and unprofessional!!! This condition in a Wal-Mart restroom is unhealthy -- it's DISGUSTING, and COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I left the store shortly later .. Today I had an embarrassing experience at this particular Walmart. I went in with my daughters I waited in line for the self check out, as I was next I started scanning my items to pay the female employee rudely asks me in front of these Walmart shoppers if I waited in line for the self check out. I responded Yes, it was embarrassing and unnecessary because she saw me and my girls in line she didn't ask anyone else but me. I know and felt that she embarrassed me because of my race. Walmart has cameras to see that I was in line. I didn't get her name but she was African American this happened around 12:17 pm. This employee didn't even say sorry or anything. I went to return an online purchase today at this location at 6:00 PM on a Friday, but their customer service was closed. A store employee yelled from a distance, "It' closed". I asked her when the customer service would reopen, and she kept yelling, "It's closed," and she kept pointing to the closed sign. I told her that I heard her, but I wanted to know when the customer service would reopen to know when to return. She then got aggravated and started yelling at me. I think that it is great that Walmart tries to be inclusive and hire just about anyone off the street, but I think hiring mentally ill people who are unfit to be in public is just plain wrong. read more

Probably one of the saddest Walmart I've been to. I guess living in Orange County, we have more variety than the South Bay. I can't believe the Torrance area has 2 Walmarts, 1 is a market, and 1 is a really old Walmart, that didn't even have a McDonalds inside. This store didn't even have a decent grocery section. Most of the Walmarts I've been inside have a nice bakery, fresh fruits section, and even prepackaged foods. This location they shoved the grocery on one side of the store, and literally starts at the check out stand, spiling out into the front of the store. Perhaps this Walmart isn't well organized becauase it used to be another store (Mervyns?). Regardless, its a sad store. Yesterday I had the best experience at this Walmart thanks to a Georgina. I was looking for a specific item and I did not see it out on the shelf. I asked a worker of the department if they can check the back to see if they had it in stock they said it would say online that it was in stock. I seen Georgina had a machine to scan she was very kind and quick to help me get the item from the back. She walked a few isles to get their and seemed happy to help me. The customer service here is horrible. I arrived and checked in for curb side at 8:50am. Kept calling store finally someone answered at 9:05am. There were only 2 cars parked therefore they weren't busy! Only Teo orders to bring out yet no one was able to do that. The car next to me got off at 9:05 pissed and stormed inside. I drove off. Asked to speak to someone then they say the received a truck and had pallets to take care of! Don't offer curbside if you can't and won't perform it.
