i scanned the first few reviews here & 90% of the problems seem from cases that need to be opened with a key & only ONE person that can't be located has it. that's not my issue. granted this is the last walmart i usually go to my favs are in long beach/lakewood area. however the downey landing location is closer to me so i went there & they didn't have the item i was looking for so went to this paramount location. to be clear in the past it's been ok. i usually don't need alot of help so i'm in and out. you either have what i'm looking for or you don't. however it was difficult to park because HALF the parking lot is BLOCKED OFF because they are rennovating the store. also it seems they've narrowed the aisles to make it difficult to get through. it didn't help that they didn't have the item i was looking for. so beware. p.s. it's actually a good thing that they are going to rennovate as it's probably been 5 years since it was last done & it does look dark & dingy. however it won't be done until november so i'll avoid it until then. read more

The "customer service" here is a joke. The staff is unprofessional. You call the store and no one takes the responsibility in picking up calls. No answer in customer service, no answer in electronics, no answer in pharmacy. Absolutely frustrating. I can't imagine a line continuously ringing and knowing a manager somewhere in the store could be hearing and STILL doesn't pick up either. First time I've shopped at this location and I almost didn't because of the reviews here, I'm so glad I tried it. Every single employee I came into contact with tonight was helpful, friendly & knowledgeable. Let me tell you something, that is not normal for the Walmarts near me - Norwalk Store is the worst! The clearance items at this store aren't in one location, they're all in the correct department but on the end caps, which I happen to love! I hate having to pick through toys and stuff I'm not interested in, the end cap system makes more sense, hats off to the person who implemented it! The only thing I didn't like about this location is the way it sits - kind of at an angel. I came from Norwalk and almost missed turning left from Rosecrans onto Lakewood because I couldn't see the store. Once I turned left I had to make a funky right turn quickly and felt like I was driving in an obstacle coarse. Granted its late and dark but I think even during daylight it would be an issue. Do NOT go to this Walmart if you don't have to. Waited 20 minutes in the alcohol lane to get service just to get a bottle of wine. I am so tired of stuff like this being locked up and there is only one person with the key. They never come. Finally another lady was waiting with me and she was able to flag down someone who had to also flag down the manager for his keys to open up the cabinets. Of course the associate went to the woman first (although I was waiting there first). Then she asked me for this associate on what I wanted. He grabbed it, then set it on the ground. I asked, "Can I put this in my cart?" And he said it will be in aisle 13. No!!! Look sir, I've been waiting here for 20 minutes and o would be an idiot to try and steal this $14 bottle of wine now. He gave it to me and waved me off. Fine whatever. Then I go to the hair care section for some conditioner and the lady at the counter says I can't bring my cart in this section. You know what? I'm done. I don't need the damn conditioner that bad to be subjugated to this type of treatment. As if the hundreds of cameras in the store aren't enough. This store has horrible customer service. Rude cashier (Caucasian female with pink hair/pixie haircut) never greeted me at all from beginning to end. No "hi, how are you?" or "have a nice day" nothing she was mute! And she was frowning the whole time too never once smiled! She seemed annoyed that customers even went to her register! Anyways, I was looking for a butane lighter and for some reason they stocked lighters behind the registers so you aren't able to grab them yourself. I showed the cashier a picture of the lighter I needed & she kept handing me the wrong one! Like I see why she works at Walmart she couldn't even hand a person the right lighter! Never do pick up here! I've never had an order delayed at any other Walmart but this one. For the second time they delayed my order. The first time it was delayed by 3 hours! Today is the second time and my order was delayed by an hour. I get to the store as soon as I get the notification (near closing time) and was sent straight to voicemail repeatedly when I called the pickup number. I called the store and was left on hold for a Ling time so I went inside to customer service where they told me pickup was closed and my order was never packed. I reminded them that they delayed my order and notified me near closing that my order was ready. They weren't quick to help me. L It took for a shift lead and coach to come out and look for my order. I was there until after closing before they got my order for me and gave it to me with no apology. I'll never come here again. read more

I dislike this store very much, but for some reason I have continued to get my oil changed here for the passed few years. Affordable, quick and easy I suppose. Until today, I have had no problems with the service. Upon returning to my truck after my oil change, I opened my driver door to get in and was surprised to see a worker still in my seat. Low and behold, he had some valuable headphones in his hands that were tucked away in my glove box. The kid had to have dug quite a bit to pull these out, as they were tucked away when I parked the truck. I've always had a hard time trusting my vehicle in other people hands when it comes to repairs. This just reminds me why. I don't recommend this store for shopping (chaotic) or service (can't trust them). read more

If I had a option I would rate this location with negative stars. I came to this location on the 12th and had the worst experience ever, I was being helped by a employee by the name of Esmeralda who told me my receipts were invalid, and told me to return my items from the store I purchased them from. My receipts are valid and I was making my return to the store were I purchased the items from. She then informed me that I used a " debit" card which wasn't true I had my correct receipts from my purchases which were " my Walmart receipt and my ebt receipt " for the items I was returning , and she made me stand in line for 30 minutes, and it was my 3rd coming back to the store due to her mishaps. First off I totally understand that with covid a lot of companies are understaffed..however, i placed a curbside pick up order on Sunday to pick up Tuesday between 2pm-3pm I showed up and it wasn't ready said it would be ready the next day. I get the email that it's ready the next morning and I show up at 3:55pm and call that I have arrived. I waited ONE HOUR for them to bring out my order. Why do they say it is ready if it wasn't even packed up to begin with??? And to make matters worse when I got home to put the groceries away I opened up the raspberries to wash them just to find them COVERED IN MOLD. I'm an associates who works here and let me tell you, If you don't want to get sick then don't come here. We've had cases of associates with COVID. Store manager doesn't follow CDC guidelines. Let's people be without masks throughout the store and when told to put them on managers say "just let them". Customers bring their dogs and let them walk without a leash and/or put them in the baskets, where we put our groceries, and no one says anything. Bathroom are disgusting. I only put one star because the only staff that actually spoke or offered help was the one at the check out line asking if you wanted to pay cash or card. Sorry but the staff either ignored you. Stood in a group talking and one almost ran me over. Ladders Were piled up in the walkway next to the ladies clothes. If someone bumped into them they would get hurt. The ladders was even for sale they looked like ladders used to stock the shelves. So I know for sure I would never come to this walmart again. I come here every 3-4 months to stock up on the expensive toiletry stuff that costs so much elsewhere, but is reasonable here. This store has been in remodel phase for the last year or more and it had been pretty disorganized and many items were not to be found. Today (Sunday) it was busy but the place is finally organized and the shelves were stocked. I found EVERYTHING I was looking for in the quantiles I wanted. I usually use the the self checkout, well today I was so pleasantly surprised. I was there at about 2pm at the Paramount Walmart and there was an middle aged gentleman managing the self-checkout area. He was actually working with the customers. He was moving from one check-out area to another trouble-shooting and giving advice and assisting. I have used the self-checkout for many years and I have never seen anyone like him. To get some help most of the time it is like pulling teeth. This gentleman would be best used as a trainer and or proctor for new employees. Or even using the security recording of him working would also be a great training video. I wish I would have gotten his name. This gentleman is an asset to Walmart and the customers. I normally don't shop at Walmart due to the horror stories I hear. I happend to find a bike for sale and ordered it for pick up. I walked in, picked it up, no issues. I had recent surgery so I needed help getting in my car. TRACY was extremely nice and helpful. He helped take the bike to my car and then he figured out how to place it in the car. This walmart doesn't stay stocked like some I've been to, but they have a lot of friendly employees who make the shopping experience a good one. There are a few really good employees but 2 in particular always stand out. Mr. Gary at the door checking receipts ALWAYS has the best attitude. His "Whoot Whoot" is the best, my kids absolutely adore him. There is also a cashier not sure of her name but the number on my receipt is op#005433, this woman is an absolute angel. I worked in customer service for 14 years and I know she has to stress with the many customers she have to deal with a day but every time I see her even if its been months she is still always so positive and kind.
