After calling the store to get the correct cake size and placing the order a day in advance, as instructed, I was promised a text notification when the cake was ready. .I provided my phone number and permission for text updates but never received any notifications. When I arrived to pick up the cake, 30 minutes before the party, I was informed that the store hadn't made it. I had less than an hour to scramble to find a replacement cake en route to the party, which I was then late for. The custom topper I bought for the original cake was useless, a waste of money since the replacement cake was not the same size. This lack of communication and follow-through is unacceptable for any business. This was such a frustrating experience. If I had been notified in advance, I could have made other arrangements. I would not recommend placing birthday cake orders with Kroger unless you've got a back up cake on standby.

I found some nice sale items, but the labeling was also confusing, purposefully so I take it as a lot of extra tags indicating trivial details made items look like they were on sale when they weren't. Having said all this, the selection was average, and it is the closest grocery store to downtown Augusta, but there were just so many customer experience issues.
