Kroger - North Augusta, SC 29841 ***SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND ORDER BIRTHDAY CAKES ELSEWHERE.*** I spent a week planning a personalized cake for my son's birthday. I decided to order the cake from Kroger and had a personalized topper made to fit. After calling the store to get the correct cake size and placing the order a day in advance, as instructed, I was promised a text notification when the cake was ready. .I provided my phone number and permission for text updates but never received any notifications. When I arrived to pick up the cake, 30 minutes before the party, I was informed that the store hadn't made it. I had less than an hour to scramble to find a replacement cake en route to the party, which I was then late for. The custom topper I bought for the original cake was useless, a waste of money since the replacement cake was not the same size. This lack of communication and follow-through is unacceptable for any business. This was such a frustrating experience. If I had been notified in advance, I could have made other arrangements. I would not recommend placing birthday cake orders with Kroger unless you've got a back up cake on standby. read more

The Kroger in North Augusta was a little more impressive than the one I visited in Augusta, but the selection still wasn't amazing, with limited options for the sort of specialty vegetarian items and international foods I'm looking for. I did get a bunch of pretzels. The self-checkout stations were many, and yet they were crowded. This location has a pharmacy and a gas station as well as a large conventional store. It'll suffice for some basics, but I'd rather shop elsewhere. read more

So much for quick pickup! Called and check in. Saw about 5-6 vehicles come in after me and leave before me. So icalled them back and found out that they gave away my groceries. How do you give away $200 worth of groceries? They asked me, "Are you sure someone else didn't come pick up your order?" What kind of question is that? Are you blaming the customer? What kind of verification methods do you have? I could have gone in and shopped all of this myself! Get your act together Kroger. Maybe we'll shop here again. I know it may sound ironic, but I am a creature of habit. So I have MY Kroger of choice (Washington Road) and that's all I need. But, there is one closer to me. Just across the water in North Augusta is a quaint little location just past Arby's. Now will I come full on grocery shopping here? No. But say I need a bag of ice or bottled water or a few apples, then this is my new go-to. Again, it is like most other locations just with a slimer selection. It even has a gas station (which can make for much cheaper gas-being South Carolina and the discount card). I enjoy the feeling that I am at a small town grocery store and how the team acts like this is a great place to be (and they do). Maybe I will frequent here more often. I can't say much about this Kroger besides they had a huge selection of items, stayed open passed 12am, and had the candy I wanted to buy. I haven't been to South Carolina's Krogers besides this one but they seem similar to the ones in Georgia so there is that. I was happy with my experience and would come back when back in Augusta in Georgia or South Carolina. read more

This is absurd....I have always been happy with this Kroger. Even bragged about it to new comers to North Augusta. However, something has changed. The moved their hours to 6 to midnight... which I adjusted to, but now they have moved it to 11pm. Which is ridiculous and makes it difficult for me who works 8-830ish(frequently 930) when my patient pass down and documentation is done. In addition the seafood section which is suppose to close at 8...twice I have taken 30 min of leave to pick up shrimp for dinner. I arrived at 7:51 and 7:53( by the clocks in Kroger) and they informed me they were closed. The customer service, which was a strong point is now below avg to bad...it's like many of the employees and mngmnt act as if we should be thankful they allow us to purchase our groceries there...its so unfortunate. Reckon it's time to give Publix a shot. read more

This place frustrates me EVERY time I come. A few days ago my husband read an article to me that stated that Kroger is going to stop using their plastic bags by 2025! I normally grocery shop at lidl, Aldi, or sprouts... Mainly for their prices... But also because I love that they give you or make you purchase paper bags! Anyways... Did a bit of grocery shopping a bit late in the evening so my regular places were closed... My husband convinced me to give Kroger another try ...and after reading the article I thought... Maybe Kroger is turning a leaf....maybe they realize that big companies should try to set a good example... Maybe they realize that they should try to be better... So gave it a go. After shopping I got in line and asked for paper bags... Was then told by a staffer that was full of frowns that.... They don't have paper bags..... they seemed very frustrated at me for even asking... Ugh. This is my home base Kroger store meaning I stop here because it's 3 minutes from my house with Walmart across the street and Publix 1/4 mile down the road. I shop here early in the AM before heading to work sometimes so I can get to the good sales and manager discount products before the crowd comes.The store is clean and does not have that old dried blood smell for those who know that scent. The staff is very friendly and some have been working for them for years as I remember some from the old location. Meat quality seems much better than Walmarts so when I want a nice piece of meat or fish I come here 1st.I always run into alot fellow Yelpers here too. I have to admit also when using your Kroger card and you reach that mark of $100.00 and get that 10 cents off per gallon of gas that can make any smart shoppers day! read more

This is an EXCELLENT Kroger in a good location for North Augusta residents! It's close and convenient to my Dad's house, and it has everything you'd need in a "super" market and then some. Some things that stick out.... Excellent House/Homewares section. Like many of the new "Super" Krogers, they have expanded this section to include a nice selection of cutlery, cookware, bakeware, plates, etc. Hell last time I was in this location I picked up a smaller, auto deep fryer for like $20! Not bad! Didn't need it but it was too good to pass up, and I've used this thing more than my big deep fryer (uses less oil). Nice wine seleciton. As "the wineguy" I of course am drawn to this section like a moth to flame. Pretty much all varietals you could want here. Decent beer selection as well. This is a large store for its location. Definitely a strong competitor to the Publix down the street. Staff is always friendly and nice. And they have a VERY nice "gourmet" aisle, as well as a well stocked international aisle. So yes, this IS a really good "super" market to get all your needs! read more

During "normal" hours the store is good but God forbid you have to shop late night the cashiers have been totally replaced by the self-check out. I HATE those and do not like being forced to use them. Cashier advised me that if I wanted to be able to come to a real lane to check out I need to shop before 3rd shift. I wrote a letter to corporate and got absolutely no response. I don't want to work for Kroger for free. I shouldn't have to pay you for the privilege of ME doing all the work. Cashiers need to be available the whole time you are open so the option is there for patrons who want to have it. read more

I am not a fan. It's a big store with a lot to offer. However, it's often crowded with customers so you are having to wait for people to move out of your way. They seemed to be understaffed because the check out lines are longer than most places and the shelves are often in disarray. Parking can be challenging too especially if you show up around the holidays. read more

Prices are good. Most of the Kroger brand products are as good as name brand. The Kroger brand pasta is not good. The manager, Mr. Eric Carroll is great. He will always try and solve any issue you have and if there is a product they do not usually carry, He will see if they can start carrying it. read more

I am tired of reporting the nastiness of this store, Kroger in North Augusta, SC, to its management. Frequently, I have reported the trash and broken items for sale outside the entrance. Kroger employees often stand around near the plant section smoking and eating, leaving their trash behind. Today, I walked in and the sushi chef is waving away flies as he prepares his product. I don't eat sushi, but I shudder for the poor unsuspecting people who purchase theirs at this Kroger. The manager blew it off, saying they keep it under a screen for purchase, but not during prep! The bakery has muffins, sealed, with flies on the inside of the package. I did take this to the same manager and he said, 'Wow'. Flies all around the produce. I bought my staples and left. I went to Publix and the place was close to spotless, and the produce quite fresh. I rarely go into this store except for 2 items that I can't find anywhere else, but they will have my business for more of my fresh groceries from now on. Kroger only for staples like water and drinks and the fuel points. Publix just down the hill for everything else. I may even check out Lidl and Aldi. read more

I have written Kroger Corporate about this kroger 3 times. This is what I said and just to let everyone know they will not have Kroger respond. Just some customer service people who do not help. Here is what I wrote: 1284 Knox AveNorth Augusta SC 29841 The above address is the Kroger I went to on Dec. 24, 2011 around 1500. I went to the self check out and had 2 bottles of wine along with other products. I went to the lady and gave her my driver's license then proceeded to finish my purchases. I then went to ask for 2 paper bags for my wine. She rudely told me that she only had 1 bag. And she did not offer me the 1 bag. So I said so there is only 1 paper bag in this store? She not answer me and I went and finished bagging my groceries. When my daughter and I were walking away she came back to me and said "YOU DID NOT SCAN BOTH BOTTLES OF WINE" very loud. I said yes I sure did. She said NO YOU DIDN'T. Again very loud. So I showed her my receipt. I was so embarrassed. My daughter said come on Mom let's go. So I did. I saw a supervisor or someone standing by customer service and said can you tell me the name of the lady at self check out and she said her name is Diana. So my complaint is that not only was I very embarrassed but it really ruined my day. Not my holiday just day. If she was upset she had to work then maybe she should re think her job. I will not go back to that store ever. Just wanted someone to in corporate to know. So needless to say I will never go to this Kroger again and I am going to contact a CEO at Kroger. I don't want anything just for Kroger North Augusta to acknowledge that this women has been told what a rude person she is. read more
