Once we finished up and returned to the sprinter, I steered us over here for a quick in‑and‑out shop, the kind of tactical grocery stop that becomes second nature when you're traveling and trying to stay on plan. A pack of sliced turkey, a pack of sliced cheese, a handful of cheese sticks, and a bag of pork rinds went straight into the basket. Yay, snacks. It felt like assembling a small survival kit for the rest of the morning. The only disappointment was the empty shelf where the keto sliced bread usually sits. Sad face. It's funny how you don't realize how much you rely on one dependable product until the spot is bare and you're left staring at the little price tag like it might magically summon a loaf. One comes for the low prices, and I had an extra credit card offer to boot. But despite needing some staples; I could barely find anything worth buying. A very limited produce selection yielded not a single banana, and the snacks were likewise uninspiring. It wasn't a great store from a vegetarian perspective, with not a lot of plant-based protein to be found (but plenty of animal products). I'm all for price shopping, but I'm also cognizant of the fact that the Standard American Diet is bad for you and I try to eat using some pretty basic principles to avoid that. The shopping experience wasn't terrible, but now I'll have to go somewhere else to find more food. read more

The cashiers here are extremely rude. I have come here twice and have realized that it is a common occurence. The cashiers never greet me, always fling my items into the cart without any care, and show little human decency. I notice very different treatment to people that were not of color, who checked out before and after me. The prices are good but not worth being treated as trash. I have not had this experience at any of the other Aldi locations. read more

Wife asked me to pick up a few items. First off I am like the Queen of England (I never carry cash) and you need a quarter to get the buggy. Now remember this is my first visit to this store and that completely bugged me out. What an inconvenience but my wife rang me to ask me to get something else and while I was telling her about the quarter a very very nice man next to me took pity on me and gave me a quarter so I could get a buggy. :) Right so once I dropped all the items from my arms into the buggy I shopped. They have a good range of food stuffs at decent prices. Some stuff that you don't see in the USA at other stores here. Also bring bags for your shopping as they charge for bags which is what is done in Europe. Was pretty good experience I would say. One thing I didn't like was that the lady put my uncooked chicken back in the buggy first and preceded to throw all the cooked items onto it. Will I frequent this place. Most likely. Marked down for quarter to get the buggy and throwing cooked food onto uncooked raw meat. read more

I went to Aldo's once without expectation. Didn't know about the BoB nor the cart quarter but caught on and later read somewhere about how much they save on labor costs by those two tricks and they clearly pass some of the savings along to us. It does have limited brands and choices but those fruits are better than Bi-Li (near me) I love the wine selection which is clearly a Traders Joe model. Have been back and love the fact I can by exotic cheeses and salami for 1/2 the price of the normal grocery store. Meat prices good too. read more

I shopped at the new Aldi in North Augusta this past week. When I drove up and walked in I wasn't sure I was in an Aldi. The Aldis where I had previously shopped in Ohio and Augusta were wholesale, bare bones, rather disorganized with narrow crowded aisles. What a pleasant shopping experience this Aldi is! The signage is probably the best feature. A shopper can stand anywhere in the store and peruse the simple, high signs. Aisles are wide. Produce is displayed in wicker trays. Check-out lanes are wide. The shopping experience was similar to shopping a "regular" grocery. My only recommendation Would be to n have a smaller buggy in addition to the very large one. read more
