I'm talking the kind of country that grew up on homemade biscuits and fried bologna, syrupy sweet tea and banana pudding out the oven, vegetables from the garden or from the jar (but before that, the garden). Yep, rocking chair on the front porch with a fly swatter in one hand and slice of watermelon in the other. So when someone posts a review about the quality of the country cooking here and photos of cornbread and a porkchop, you know I was a bit skeptical. I perused the menu and saw that fried chicken (the true test of country cooking) is only served on Wednesday's. So on a Wednesday I made my maiden voyage to the potential land of newfound love. Like other categories of restaurant/cafe, I have staples with which to test the overall quality. That day; the aforementioned fried chicken, mashed potatoes (or taters if you're from the South), green beans, a square of cornbread, a slice of lemon cake, and a glass of sweet tea. Now before I walk you through my tastebuds visit to heaven let me backup and get you to the front door. Plug the address into GPS. It is tucked away in a corner, hidden behind another restaurant, and sharing a parking lot with yet another restaurant. Like I said, use your GPS. Parking was a challenge at lunch so come early. When you walk in, the line forms to the left hand side and may already be backed up to you. But if it's a first visit, that'll give you time to see everything on the hot bar (written on the glass directly in front of you) and decide on which dessert(s) you want. Those are in the cooler in the middle (ranging from a slice of cake to slice of pie to banana pudding). After ordering you'll continue moving to the right until reaching the register. After paying, drinks are against the right hand wall. I personally recommend finding a seat in the "overflow" section (that's what it looks like to me). You'll find it around the corner, with four person tables awaiting. There are a few outside, with umbrellas, if the weather is right that day. Now back to my food ecstasy trip. I asked one of the team members floating around pouring tea just how sweet it was. She said something about "...cups of sugar" and the rest was a blur. I already knew it would be on point. I shared how I grew up with it leaving a sheen on your lips. She chuckled and stated I should be satisfied then with theirs. And I was. I had to slow myself down due to the knowledge too much before eating will leave you feeling nauseous. My lunch arrived, but it did not rest upon my plate long. I sampled the sides and cornbread then went straight for the wing. The chicken breast soon followed. I came up for air just long enough to get a refill of tea before intaking the lemon cake. The balance of sweet and tart, the airyness of the icing, and the moisture of the cake were all pure perfection. I debted going back for a slice of the strawberry, but already felt a food nap approaching. I am heartbroken that this was my first visit (as it has been around since 2017), but my wounds shall be healed with the application of more (and more) amazing food. Stop by today! Or at least the day they serve a item you really love. And don't forget dessert! Sidenote: With the fried chicken, you can choose between light or dark meat.

Walked into the "store" which was a man sitting on a chair in an empty warehouse. Me: "are you closed?" Man: "no, how much you want?" Me looking around: "how much of what?? Is this a produce market? Veggies?" Man: "nah we don't do that here" Me: "is this not Leo's produce?" Man: "it is." We slowly edged our way back out before our organs were harvested. Weird as hell.

They are very prejudice, I ordered Cabbage and a case of greens the owner tried to charge me 2.50 per pound for cabbage, unaware that I had been there before and bought both greens and Cabbage for our business.. I called and spoke to Michelle before placing our ordering for delivery to check if there was a price change, by the way the cabbage was .50 a pound. When the delivery came the delivery guy hand his arms around the box claiming that the bottom was broken. We discovered that it was a box of old wilted greens, how sad. Don't go there if you are a person of color because they don't treat you right and will cheat you there.

A natural skincare table, body butters and such. I don't put stuff on my skin so I don't really like having to say no twice, much less 3-4 times. Food smelt really great, I think some of the market was a little picked through, we got there an hour before they closed I think. I flew in, so I wish I would've been able to try this Sea Moss but I couldn't! Can't pack it. I'd go back, I truly think we went on a "smaller" weekend.

That WAS my point of view. But then, I came across Black Girl Boba at the Augusta Saturday Market. I perused over the menu when the Brown Sugar Milk Tea captured my attention. There are a few words that will always, always hook me; brown butter, duck anything, bison, and yes brown sugar. Order placed and soon I was walking the Market and sipping away. Which brings me back to the beginning, delicious! Yes it is quite sweet, but the tapioca pearls help to balance that. The cup was empty before I made it to my vehicule. I'm not sure why it closed or if Harvey's the new supermarket is taking over Bi-Lo locations. The setup seemed the same, but of course the branding was different. They had green mostly to match with the outside signage. There was a cafe in the area near the deli/bakery. The pricing seemed a bit higher than Kroger, which is where I usually shop because of the savings and card perks. They did have a section where everything was $1. I didn't browse it since I was in a rush. There is plenty of parking because it is located in a plaza. I don't live anywhere near this grocery store, but I'd visit occasionally if I were in the area.

This grocery chain was sold to Bi-lo and was turned from a Bi-lo to what it is now, a Harvey's…read moreSupermarket. They opened at the end of the year of 2016. There was tons of buzz about this place because they have great prices on some things that cost much more around town. For instance, I picked up two packs of bone-in, thick cut pork chops for a little over $3. It was about 7 in each pack. You couldn't beat that price with a stick!!! There were tons of other deals around the store but, that was just an example of how this store was needed for the budget conscious consumer like myself!!!! They also have a $1 aisle were there are all types of things that are $1 each. I've heard some of my friends already say they will never shop anywhere else for groceries again. I'm not going to say that because I can find deals almost anywhere I shop. This store also redeem and reward you with the Plenti rewards program. I was already a member of that program so I didn't have to sign up, but if you're not it's a breeze to do so. This place is definitely one to check out and see what kind of amazing deals you can find for yourself!!!
