My all time favorite plant and produce shop when I visit family in Augusta. Pros: everything, not only can I find wonderful plants (both for indoor and outdoor plants) while also getting a chance to purchase local produce and products. Today I picked up Some small ferns and some local creamed honey from the Augusta honey company. The staff are so wonderful and helpful (not to Mention knowledgeable about the plants) and the ceramics and Omar's are always a joy to look at. I also love the breadth of their price range so if you want to spend less than $5 you can do that or if you want a big plant purchase they are here for your splurge. Cons: none,'other than o don't live in Augusta sis can't frequent this gem more often

Great local spot to pick up fresh produce. I love all the differnt varieties they have of different fruits. My go to spot to pick up fat carrots to make my famous carrot cake cupcakes. The candies are always tempting. I find new things to try every time I am there whether it's a beverage or a slice of cake.

One of my favorite stores to shop at for fruits, Cajun boiled peanuts, and Muscadines. And even if I don't buy anything I just like to browse.

Local produce is here! Year round farmers market. There is also a large garden center. A variety of fresh produce depending upon season. There is a "bruised" section that had some good finds for baking. Large frozen section with produce and prepared foods. Lots of tempting sweets and lotions. Honey, bar soaps, chocolates and some premade lunches.

Living in the city of Augusta, it's easy to forget that a big chunk of the state is rural. Much of what is grown localish is on display at Good Earth Produce and Garden Center. We visited this past weekend and were dazed by the air perfumed with ripe strawberries. We wandered around the produce, marveling at the variety, sampling the melons, and meal planning. Good Earth is part farmer's market, part country store and part plant nursery. It's almost impossible to wander the aisles and not think of what you could do with all the offerings. We picked up some stone-ground grits and other fixings for a big Sunday breakfast, made note of the refrigerator/freezer offerings and fresh butter and even the 'clearance' items. My DH didn't realize Good Earth existed, but he'll never forget the meals that resulted from our visit. We'll definitely be back.

Oh dear pumpkin patch!!! I kept watching all the changes while driving by and finally made time to stop. Folks you have to go and see this. Largest variety of pumpkins I have ever seen. Sizes from tiny to well ...... huge. Best of all the back of the roofed over area has a free photo set up for anybody, Great Wall of Pumpkins, straw horses and ponies complete with saddles. Bring the date, the family the teddy bear and take some great fall photos. I did glance at the flowers and plants as well as the store, planning on going back to hopefully do some of my Christmas shopping there as well.

I love this garden stop! The staff are so nice and super helpful. I love the layout that they have everything. They have an indoor section, a small grocery section with produce and locally owned items (definitely check that out), and an outdoor section. They have soooo many pumpkins for the fall season so go see those. You won't regret it. They also have a re-pottting section for a fee but can be useful forsure. Come check this local place out. You won't regret it!!

This is the place to get your fruits and vegetables! Their produce is all locally sourced and you can tell because it's so delicious. Besides their produce, there's also many decorative plants and different fruit trees, honey and agave also from local sources. There's a loyalty program, which is a stamp card, so you don't have to give your number out and create a login. Double stamps on Wednesday! They even offer military discount!

Crazy huge selections of pumpkins with ideas for Halloween decorating. The garden areas were very nice. The fruit & vegetable selections were varied with a good collection of fresh & prepared foods in the coolers. A bit out of my price range so I just enjoyed the views.

So the peaches smell so good that you can smell them right when you walk through the door!! The fresh strawberries taste amazing and the grapes we got today were that perfect combination of sweet and tart! We also picked up some Dutch Kettle Strawberry Jam and a carrot cake!!! Oh and don't get me started on the Amish butter that big pack of butter is fantastic and tastes much better slathered on my toast with some jam than that regular store bought kind!! If you are on the fence about stopping here you just really need to check them out. This place has the freshest fruits and vegetables and I drive out here especially for that purpose.

This is my first time visiting good Earth. The store is very clean and well laid out with delicious air conditioning. They seem to have a really nice selection of good locally grown items. A nice feature is their clearance section which can get you some nice deals if you're ready to eat them right away. All in all it looks really good, I will be back.

How do I love thee... let me count the ways... First I'd like to tell the reader that they have TWO…read morepick up locations. If you don't want to go to Evans, there is one on Broad St. across from the Kroc Center. I usually park there, it's after 5:30 and skip across the grass. Remember to bring some reusable bags to get your stuff! Meanwhile, I tried that "green store that takes much of your paycheck" and found it to be seriously disappointing! I mean let's get serious here... level 1 meats are about the same as any other grocery and NOT why I'd pay so much more. I was so excited to find this website locallygrown.net which has locations all over (so I'm totally saving it in case I move again). The "store" opens online on Friday with how much of what is available from real local farms and artisans. You scoop up the goodies and pay to make sure you get that last share of jalapeños... then pick it all up on Tuesday night. They have veg, fruit, all kinds of meats, dairy, flowers, herbs, candles, soaps, baked goods... etc. Go, have a look! You can chose from grass fed, organic, pasture raised... all of the things I adore. I found the size of share and freshness to be very good. Make sure you check everything and don't leave without some greens... like I did. Everything seems to last so much longer because it's fresh! I wish I had found this years ago...

I…read morecan't say anything bad about the Augusta Locally Grown (ALG) they are so well organized and offer a lot for the money. Of course, ALG links farmers to consumers via the internet. Orders are placed every Friday at noon thru Sunday at 8pm. Buyers have two locations in Augusta to pick up - Evans Town Center or West End bakery in the old Harrisburg community of Augusta. We haven't really been to a grocery store since beginning with ALG back in June. We order fresh milk, pasture raised eggs; grass fed beef and pork; vegetables galore from farmers who have now become acquainted with me. I support the local farmers, eat well and all at a modest cost. Once you start with ALG you'll always wonder why you spent your hard earned money at the chain stores. Buyers also get to know their farmers and the farmers are always eager to answer your questions about how they farm organic, etc. I buy all of my meats for the month and re-stock the milk, eggs and veggies weekly. Always something great to prepare for meals!

I know I hide my country upbringing well (aside from the accent-it is what it is), but have no…read moredoubt it's still there. I'm talking the kind of country that grew up on homemade biscuits and fried bologna, syrupy sweet tea and banana pudding out the oven, vegetables from the garden or from the jar (but before that, the garden). Yep, rocking chair on the front porch with a fly swatter in one hand and slice of watermelon in the other. So when someone posts a review about the quality of the country cooking here and photos of cornbread and a porkchop, you know I was a bit skeptical. I perused the menu and saw that fried chicken (the true test of country cooking) is only served on Wednesday's. So on a Wednesday I made my maiden voyage to the potential land of newfound love. Like other categories of restaurant/cafe, I have staples with which to test the overall quality. That day; the aforementioned fried chicken, mashed potatoes (or taters if you're from the South), green beans, a square of cornbread, a slice of lemon cake, and a glass of sweet tea. Now before I walk you through my tastebuds visit to heaven let me backup and get you to the front door. Plug the address into GPS. It is tucked away in a corner, hidden behind another restaurant, and sharing a parking lot with yet another restaurant. Like I said, use your GPS. Parking was a challenge at lunch so come early. When you walk in, the line forms to the left hand side and may already be backed up to you. But if it's a first visit, that'll give you time to see everything on the hot bar (written on the glass directly in front of you) and decide on which dessert(s) you want. Those are in the cooler in the middle (ranging from a slice of cake to slice of pie to banana pudding). After ordering you'll continue moving to the right until reaching the register. After paying, drinks are against the right hand wall. I personally recommend finding a seat in the "overflow" section (that's what it looks like to me). You'll find it around the corner, with four person tables awaiting. There are a few outside, with umbrellas, if the weather is right that day. Now back to my food ecstasy trip. I asked one of the team members floating around pouring tea just how sweet it was. She said something about "...cups of sugar" and the rest was a blur. I already knew it would be on point. I shared how I grew up with it leaving a sheen on your lips. She chuckled and stated I should be satisfied then with theirs. And I was. I had to slow myself down due to the knowledge too much before eating will leave you feeling nauseous. My lunch arrived, but it did not rest upon my plate long. I sampled the sides and cornbread then went straight for the wing. The chicken breast soon followed. I came up for air just long enough to get a refill of tea before intaking the lemon cake. The balance of sweet and tart, the airyness of the icing, and the moisture of the cake were all pure perfection. I debted going back for a slice of the strawberry, but already felt a food nap approaching. I am heartbroken that this was my first visit (as it has been around since 2017), but my wounds shall be healed with the application of more (and more) amazing food. Stop by today! Or at least the day they serve a item you really love. And don't forget dessert! Sidenote: With the fried chicken, you can choose between light or dark meat.

The husband and wife team have worked incredibly hard to transform the land into a farm, walking trails, and event space. I visited @boondockfarms on a beautiful Saturday when they offered an abundance of vendors, an awesome band( sorry- I didn't record because I was taken back at the talent), barbecue and farm tours. The tour was lead by the owner Laura. We got to feed a few adorable animals, explore the walking trails and learn about their future plans. I'm thrilled to see this "dead" area get a fresh new lease on life. They offer many different events throughout the year. It's easiest to follow their social media pages or website for events postings. Suggestions: Bring the family for some outdoor fun. I really enjoyed exploring the vegetation and outdoor life. I learned quite a bit about plants and as I googled to figure out what there were. The farm also has a cute cafe to grab a snack and they often have a food venders.
