Honestly I'm extremely picky when it comes to coffee. I need coffee that is so good you can drink it black. This place is it!! I got the honey latte with almond milk and not only was the latte art beautiful but the coffee itself was able to shine through and I appreciated that there wasn't that much sweetness or milk. I also appreciated the clear mug - you don't see those a lot. I feel like most places nowadays just give you a paper cup so any mug was appreciated but especially this one. This place is about the small details - simple but perfect decor as well; very homey. The only critique I had was the service wasn't the most friendly. The baristas were a tad standoffish and I had to wait about 10 minutes for them to take my order and it wasn't busy at all. This downtown-ish coffee shop has a cavernous interior, and the vibe is distinctive. While Augusta has a military presence, the base seems very contained and I don't feel its presence much. Here, however, numerous service-related flags flew, and the coffee-table conversation was about the latest in wearable technologies for measuring athletic performance. They had a small but good-looking pastry selection. I got a cinnamon roll, which was a pull-apart sheet kind of a thing that came warmed and with some sort of cream cheese icing. Not what I would have designed, but for what it was this was an impressive creation and quite delectable. My chai was less impressive, arriving with an attempted heart shape in the foam that looked like it was in heart failure. Thankfully given the cinnamon roll, the chai wasn't too sweet, but the flavors didn't really mix well either. To be fair to them, the sign on the door says coffee. Venue and Atmosphere The store is spacious with restrooms in the rear of the building. You can see them roasting and packing coffee in the back (behind a partition for safety). There are plenty of long tables to work at, as well as a few couches if you'd like to relax and sip your coffee. Service The baristas were polite and efficient. Food and Beverages I ordered the pumpkin spice coffee and a bagel sandwich. Both were some of the best I've ever had. The latte was rich and flavorful, served in a logo cup from Ubora. The sandwich had a perfect amount of cheese, butter, and a dollop of cream cheese for good measure. I also ordered a chocolate muffin, which was divine. A really great business that has had some rough luck! When we heard that they had some flooding in their building, me and a friend knew we had to come support them. As a local student, Ubora has always been there for us as we study, and the community loves them! The drinks we ordered were excellent, and the staff was super friendly. I especially loved the temperature of my hot chocolate- usually I ALWAYS burn my tongue while trying to drink hot drinks, but this time it was the perfect level of hot to be enjoyable but not burn me. I didn't get coffee from here. I was here for the Sunday tea party and I thought the tea choice was great - Earl Gray. It was very flavorful and all the condiments were set up beautifully. Tea set was beautiful and the atmosphere was very hip but relaxed. They made a cucumber sammich and a separate tomato/mozzarella sammich and both were delicious. I would have loved smaller bite sized ones. The macaroons were from the pastry chef at Partridge Inn, they were delicious. The chef from Edgar's bakery made madeleines and berry tarts that were top notch....really can see why their bakery is so successful! The barista here has questionable beverage handling skills and even more questionable people skills. I walked in with a friend to get an after dinner drink. When we walked up to the counter, he greeted us with, "Taiwanese?" Rather than a "welcome" or "how can I help you". He seemed pretty smug about it, too.
