Awesome local Ecuadorian coffee shop located right off Central Ave. Great patio seating for enjoying a coffee in the warm weather. We ordered 3 different sandwiches (all able to be modified for vegetarian/vegan tastes), coffee, and a smoothie. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, as it was our first time here. The coffee was freshly brewed, and served hot. The smoothie was equally great, a unique blend of bananas, coffee, and other ingredients. I especially liked the bread used for the sandwiches. If you want a drive-thru experience and cheap artificial flavors, go somewhere else. But, if you crave real flavors made from the freshest ingredients and the hospitality of a family-run business, this is a must try. While this little shop is not a convenient drive for me, it has always been worth the trip and the time. Everything is scratch made in-house (even their syrups!) and the herbs are grown in the restaurant. I've had the pleasure of watching them pour their hearts into the building and the menu for years and tried my first flatbread today. The bread is truly fresh and the flavors of the san blas was exquisite. This is definitely a new vibe for Augusta, a cafe that promises the taste of Ecuador and offers a distinctive selection and quality to match. While I am not much of a coffee person, I thought it worthwhile to sample the pastries, and received a detailed introduction to their various options. In addition, I always appreciate when a coffee place does put reputable effort into their non-coffee options, and the tea here was an impressively fresh-brewed show. Not a large amount of tea, but they managed to extract an enormous amount of cinnamon flavor into it. Their pastries were based on a yeasty bread (no corn here, unlike many South American restaurants), and the sandwich I got was a tomato basil kind of thing with a massive and very filling amount of fresh, rich cheese hidden amongst an otherwise delicate baguette. It's been a while since I've visited this business (mostly the hours don't work with my schedule) but they are the friendliess business. I came twice in one day about 2 hours apart. They even remembered my name on my 2nd visit I was impressed. The menu is definitely different and theres a lot I've never heard of but they really spend time explaining the items. The first visit I got the ambato. Probably my new favorite drink. I loved the strawberry rose flavors together. The gusanito is a yeast roll filled with sweet filling (they had hazelnut and a cookie butter filling....I opted for the hazelnut one)....so delicious! My second visit I got the cafe con Leche iced. I asked for suggestion for the milk option and sweetner and was suggested cashew milk and panela. It was creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. I also got the bombas....mine was turkey and gouda...it was warmed so when I got it it was warm and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with melty cheese. It came with mustard that was the perfect pairing (and I don't even like mustard). Highly recommend thr bomba....it's an elevated turkey and cheese. If you don't want to miss out on an item I would suggest going early. They are focused on not wasting so they only make a certain amount. read more

There isn't a lot of seating, which is fine for grab and go but might be difficult if you want to sit and work for a while. However, the decor is lovely. The coffee itself came out reasonably quickly, and the staff was super helpful. The actual quality of the coffee for price was decent as well- I will say I think the flash brew was by far the best of all the drinks my friends and I tried. We went for their pizza on a Friday night. I'm born and raised in Michigan. Their Detroit style crust was literally perfect. The thin sourdough was phenomenal as well. Hands down best pizza in the CSRA. Moreover the owners are so kind and welcoming. Could not recommend higher. read more

In the past 2-3 years I have found myself asking, "another coffee shop?". A decade ago you had two in the area. Now we have over ten and more to come before the end of the year. But, as someone who loves local and coffee with tantamount passion I still visit and patronize said coffee shops. And so I was made aware of yet another, this one being in Midtown. I began my search online for the usual; website, socials, media coverage. What I noticed almost immediately was their niche focus on Ecuadorian coffee, drinks, and breads. I was intrigued. And now, after a few visits, I am hooked. The moment you open the door you are greeted with the aroma of baked bread fresh out of the oven and espresso shots being pulled. That is soon followed by the smiling faces of not just the team, but the family working here. As you walk in the sunlight pouring in through the front window splashes against the tile and floor that brings a sense of calm only perfectly choreographed ambiance can do. As someone quite familiar with all things coffee/espresso related, there were still questions as to what a certain menu item was. Don't be afraid to ask. For example, the Long Black is akin to an Americano but reverse sequence (hot water then espresso). And the bread selection, I'm trying to sample one of everything but they keep adding more! I honestly believe I could come everyday for a week and still miss something delicious. Now you'll find seating inside and out front, but the space is set up more as a place to unwind, not necessarily get on your laptop. And that's a good thing right? We could all use more of that. Be sure to check out the coffee beans and chocolate over on the product shelf and take a step outside (to the right, facing the building) to see the mural. The location (at the intersection of Monte Sano Ave and Central Ave) is perfect for minimal traffic, walking to from the Augusta University Summerville campus (or if you live nearby), and just when you need a reprieve from a busy week. This just might be the one coffee shop that stops me from asking "how many more?" and start asking "can we have more like this?". Until I figure that out, I will be stopping by frequently in my goal to try everything they offer. I hope you do the same. read more

I've been going to Relic since their soft opening and it is always a highlight of my day; I feel like I owe it to them to write a review. Coffee is as good as anywhere and, most importantly, unique. You get Equadorian flavors here that you won't find anywhere else in Augusta. Most underrated though is the freaking food. They had a honey foccaccia, rosemary ham, goat cheese, and basil sandwich a couple weeks back that was such a flavor epiphany for me that I went to Publix and bought all those ingredients and ate those sandwiches at home for a week. I also just got done eating their Mindo sandwich off their fresh in house bread and it was somehow even better. Their service is equally amazing. We finally made it over to have the very best coffee in the area! So serious! I ordered the iced Cortado, which I haven't had since I was in St. Augustine, FL. When I noticed Cortado was on the menu, I got chills, and it was delicious and perfect! Nicole was knowledgeable and while waiting for my coffee, I heard her helping others with their coffee orders and making suggestions. It's such a cute place! I love the logo and it even looks like they are growing fresh herbs. We also tried the pizza Bomba and Turkey and Gouda Bomba! All delicious and filling.
