I drove by this place when it was empty and I thought it would be a great space for a brewery. Not quite the brewery I had in mind, but still a great space nonetheless. Finally made it after driving by on my daily trip to work. I'm not a huge coffee person, so that could be why (I love the flavor shots). I got myself a caramel latte (iced). It was rather small, but it still had a good flavor. I also ordered sea salt focaccia (yum). I saw they had another favor but they were sold out. They make them daily so if you actually want to try something from the bakery side, get there early. I love the vibe of the place, and the colors used. Warning to all readers - I am not a coffee shop girl (I know, blastphemy!) so take any feedback here or on other coffee reviews with that in mind. I only went to Trellis one time before moving from Augusta for the same reason stated above (nothing against coffee shops, it's just I preferred to drink coffee and work at home). However, many of my colleagues went here *at least* once a week if not more than that after it opened. There are tons of coffee and tea items to choose from as well as baked goods, including focciatta that looked so beautiful and tasty. The ambience of the place is just so cute. There are lots of seating areas, down to just one person there alone to a larger group wanting to sit at a big table. When I did go, there were many people there sitting alone working on their laptops. I can see now why so many people enjoy this place! The location of the place off Walton Way is great for people who work at or near the medical school or university. There is plenty of parking on site which makes it an easy place to visit. As someone who drinks coffee everyday, I'm not easily wowed anymore. I have my go to favorites in Atlanta but I'm never shocked by a good drink...until today. I was visiting family in Augusta and my friend told me I had to come to Trellis and get their Salted Caramel. It was half a mile from where I was going to I made a quick stop in. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by two guys behind the bar. Super friendly, very welcoming and made a point to ask about my favorite hat that I was wearing. (Small service oriented details that mean the world to me) I ordered my drink and it came out pretty quick. It was obvious from presentation alone that this was going to be a great drink. From the first sip, the espresso, caramel, Oatmilk and salt immediately hit my palate at the same time. Heaven. When I say this is arguably one of the best drinks I've ever had, that's no exaggeration. It was GOOD. I honestly can't wait to come back to Augusta and get another. The shop was nice and spacious. I saw plenty of people here working. If I had time to sit and stay, I would've had two more drinks. Easy 5/5 for me. read more

Phenomenal coffeehouse in Augusta! When I heard that a new coffeehouse in the area was going to be serving Onyx coffee, I knew they were serious about their craft. I made my way to Trellis and was not disappointed. The building is beautiful and the interior is so cheery and artfully done. I was greeted with a smile and the baristas very patiently answered my questions while I looked at their menu of drinks and food. I ordered my customary cortado and BAM, WOW. I knew this place was legit (with gorgeous milk art to boot). The pastries are seasonal and delicious - I am in love with all of their shortbreads - try them, you'll only regret that you want more. I've also tried their matcha latte, which was beautifully made with high quality matcha. The one downside (but to me does not warrant a full star downgrade) is the seating - since Trellis is so popular, I think some optimization of the seating inside would be a benefit since it's such a lovely place to sit and have a cuppa, and would allow for more patrons to enjoy it. I visited a fairly new coffeehouse (opened Oct2023) "Trellis Coffee Bar" for coffee and one of their freshly baked goods. The building is remodeled from an original gas station and it's very cute be it small on the inside. The coffee was perfect, though they DO NOT have any sugar free options I did choose a latte. I also added a sea salt focaccia which tasted superb. The girl's at the counter were very nice and patient. It may be due in part to the bike shop next door, but plenty of people are in here as well, and it's a nice place to sit. I, however, wanted something quick, and their baked goods are served immediately. It wasn't a long wait for a beverage either. I found their chai mild in flavor, lacking distinctiveness but adding contrast to what I ate. The basic sea salt foccacia was immensely fluffy, and one could not accuse it of having too little sea salt or olive oil. i love trellis. I am ALWAYS in there studying, reading or chatting with friends. The coffee is always good, the music they play is always the best! The overall vibes in there are chill, normal volume (not overly loud but definitely not quiet) and place is well kept. The only issue is seating, sometimes you have to wait a while before you can get a seat but that's not their fault, just a heads up! depends on the time you go usually. i would highly recommend trellis!!! read more

What a delight! Stopped by Trellis Coffee Bar for coffee and a bite on a weekday morning and boy are they bustling! It can be hard to find a spot but fortunately some kind folks made space for me on the sofa. Initially, I tried to order a breakfast sandwich but unfortunately they were out (again, bustling!). Fortunately the server had suggestions for other savory breakfast items, which I much appreciated. I opted for the ham and cheese focaccia slab which was outta this world. Lightly sea salted with nice chunks of ham and cheese--their focaccia is literal perfection. The portion is huge! For my beverage, I got the mint mocha, which was beautifully rendered. The espresso was pitch perfect. The rosemary sprig garnish was a nice touch. The service was lovely, and though bustling, the customers were also wonderful and everyone seemed to be conspiring to make room and ensure all were comfortable while they caffeinated. Get to it! I had an amazing first time at Trellis! It was perfect for a morning coffee with a friend. I got one of the seasonal drinks, the Good Neighbor, and it was delicious! I wasn't sure how the browned butter would taste in the drink, but it was surprisingly good. It added just a hint of saltiness and complimented the drink well. I also tried their B.E.C. sandwich without the Sriracha sauce and was not disappointed. There is plenty of seating inside whether you want to sit on a comfortable couch or need a table to set up your laptop for studying or work. Since I heard of Trellis months ago, I've been following their journey through social media and visited them at the Saturday Market. Overall, 5/5 for a coffee shop, great place to spend some time and be happy amongst a pretty ambiance. Vibes: 5/5 Immaculate. The murals/paintings are punchy but inviting, the colors are warm yet modern, and the place seems very nice to study or chill at. Love the wall details everywhere. Coffee: 4/5 The drinks are very smooth, perfect if you like lattes and such. Not very sweet, but flavors shine through for the lavender based drink. I couldn't taste much caramel in the salted caramel one though. I will try it iced next time to see if that makes a difference. The latte art is beautiful and I really appreciate the effort put into presentation. (I personally prefer a stronger coffee flavor, but I know many people who prefer otherwise) Food: 5/5 I highly recommend the focaccia, its the best I've had in the Augusta region. It's got some sourdough notes and they have a focaccia of the day. The texture is chewy yet soft and pillowy, with a nice crust. A superior bread. Black coffee wasn't brewed so took 10 minutes longer than needed, in my opinion brewed coffee should always be available OR communication that we have to wait for a fresh batch should be involved. I live in atlanta and came down to see my dad at the hospital nearby. I always seek out local coffee shops when I travel and this one was only .2 miles away. This place is so freaking cute! It's colorful and trendy so I already felt the vibes walking in the door. I went for the salted caramel latte half sweet just like I like it, and they made it perfectly. Anytime I'm anywhere near this location it's a must stop. The coffee is delicious and silky. With a ton of fan favorites or make your own selection. Either way you can go wrong. The food items especially the baked bread with salt is amazing. Fluffy with a crunchy top. Perfect combination with any latte. Another day, another coffee shop in Augusta. Or so it seems. Whether it's a second location for some or a new venture for others, the sounds of the espresso machine grows louder by the week. And I am here for it! Though this is the soft opening of Trellis, it is worth mentioning that they are not on day 1 of operating their business. They have been at the Augusta Market and public and private events for months spreading the news of this day, one cup at a time. Now what was once a place to get your car back up and running is now THE place to get you up to speed. The murals and aesthetics are just something you need to see for yourself. Beautiful, crisp, inviting, professional, and all so complimentary you would swear it's always been a coffee bar. But no. I can confirm it was far from the warm haven it is now as I stopped by four times during its construction phase. My first stop catapulted anticipation as I saw the two bay doors and the large garage space. It continued to grow as I walked to the left (facing the front of the building) and saw the gorgeous windows I knew would be wellsprings of sunlight during the day. Soon I learned Onyx would be the bean of choice and pastries were to be baked in-house. I could not wait. As I stood outside in line, the temperature just brisk enough to warrant hot beverages but not produce a seen breath, I knew an Americano would be the first order. But what would accompany it? Upon perusing the menu, I quickly had my answer. TCB Delight latte (hot); espresso (of course), milk, honey, vanilla, and cinnamon. As I crossed the threshold the aroma of a shot being pulled and the sound of the grinder preparing beans for a pour over welcomed me. Along with them were the multiple conversations being held in the main seating area and a 80's hit playing in the speakers. I placed my order, found a seat, and waited. But not for long. If you know me at all, you know the Americano is what I use for my standard in judging coffee shops. It tells me their quality of bean selection, roasting and grinding abilities, as well as the barista's skill in pulling the shot and proper balance of hot water. With Onyx as the base, the first two were a given. And let me say this, I have/had a favorite local Americano spot. They do it right! But no more. The acid level was perfection. It was so smooth I had to force myself to set it aside and try the latte. But I was back and finished it. The latte was delicious, balanced, and a master class in flavor profiles. It too quickly vanished. And so I walked away; senses heightened, taste buds in nirvana, and a desire to return soon. Maybe I'll see you there. But if not, know that you just missed me. read more

Most of the time, I do get take out because it's usually bustling and hard to find a spot to sit (especially on weekends). The indoor decor and layout is nice, and the iced matcha I had was great (no clumps! plus lightly sweetened with honey).
