Fresh seafood from Bluffton. You need to call ahead to place an order but it's fresh off the boat!

Amy was friendly, answered all our questions and warmed us some water to try her teas. The soft aroma of lavender upon the breeze, bees creating a soft buzzing sound, and a view of the sky bigger than the state of Georgia. This oasis from the urban setting is just outside of Dearing. Now I've had interaction with the owner before visiting, even purchasing some of the lavender rooibos tea with mint (one cup in the evening and you are ready for bed!). But to go there is an experience everyone within a 50 mile radius should know. That afternoon was sunny and free of clouds. The lavender, basil, and sunflowers were in bloom. Tomatoes were close behind. "Peaceful" doesn't even begin to describe my time walking around the property. It was like a day at the spa, minus the terrycloth robe. There are plenty of chairs/benches to have a seat, including some around a fire pit (for the cooler evenings). Though I expected all of this on some level, my amazement grew as I entered their shop. You thought the lavender was strong outside, but then you enter an enclosed space. Lavender batches drying along the wall, lavender candles, bath salts, lip balm, even infused in spices (such as salt, rubs for meat). I left that day with a carpet powder and linen spray. And I plan to return for more in the near future.

Once we finished up and returned to the sprinter, I steered us over here for a quick in‑and‑out shop, the kind of tactical grocery stop that becomes second nature when you're traveling and trying to stay on plan. A pack of sliced turkey, a pack of sliced cheese, a handful of cheese sticks, and a bag of pork rinds went straight into the basket. Yay, snacks. It felt like assembling a small survival kit for the rest of the morning. The only disappointment was the empty shelf where the keto sliced bread usually sits. Sad face. It's funny how you don't realize how much you rely on one dependable product until the spot is bare and you're left staring at the little price tag like it might magically summon a loaf. Other than that, it was an easy, pleasant shop. No line, no fuss, and the self‑checkout behaved itself. Within a few minutes we were back in the sprinter and heading toward downtown Augusta again, ready for more sightseeing and whatever the day wanted to hand us next, snacks safely tucked away for later. I really, really like Aldi! It took me awhile to come around, only because of genius marketing…read moreploys that make you think "brand name" means better. Turns out, nature doesn't make generic almonds and I'm not paying $7.99+ when I can get it for $4.99. I could go on and on about the price comparisons but I wouldn't be adding to the body of Grovetown Aldi knowledge. I find that produce at Aldi is BETTER than what I've found at Kroger up the street. Call me stingy but I've returned fruit and veggies that started showing signs of rot a day or two after I purchase them. I have yet to do that with Aldi. Does that mean that everything is flawless in the produce department? No, you still need to dig from time to time and use your olfactory skills! There's a handful of things I won't budge on and go to other stores but it's worth it to me to go here and save! Hot: All nuts, Penguin Cheese Crackers (Goldfish equivalent but tastes lighter in a good way), Dried fruits, Winking Owl wine isn't bad, condiments (ketchup is good and comparable to Heinz), Veggie Straws, Chicken Broth with low sodium, cereal (Aldi brand Honey Bunches of Oats, Chex and Shredded Wheat are all delish), batteries (near the registers)....clearly I can go on. Heck Ya: Almond Flour, Flaxseed, Chia Seeds, Quinoa...all here at a reasonable price!!! There are gluten-free options but I can't really speak to that. Did I mention, much to my surprise their coffee is pretty dang good. I'm a coffee snob but I can get down with $3.99 coffee that is actually palatable. Not: I'm not a fan of their paper towels or tissue. I used to love their wipes but for some reason the dispenser keeps detaching from the package and I have a ton of unusable wipes. Maybe I'm the Hulk?! I've tried their pizza in the cooler section by the frozen items, not a fan. They aren't awful but don't hit a home run in the taste department. Miscellaneous: I love looking at their seasonal aisles. I've picked up cute silicone heart pans, kid's pjs, succulents and more for a fair price. The staff is helpful and friendly, which is icing on the cake! They are fast at the checkout so I never dread waiting in line. Being your quarter for the cart and your own bags and you my friend, you are a super smart shopper with money left over! Beware, Starbucks is conveniently located across the street...they tend to get some of my money left over. Ha!
