It is a shame you cannot rate a place zero stars, because that is what this location deserves. I went there TWICE this week .. and had two pretty bad experiences. Well fool me twice, shame on me. From now on, I will either go to other locations, or better yet, spend my money at a store where customer service and common sense mean something. First visit, I wanted the generic store brand of an over the counter medicine, and they were out. Not the end of the world, but when I went to the Santa Clara grocery location, there was plenty. This tells me that the store is not doing a great job tracking inventory and keeping common items properly stocked. (It has happened before in Milpitas, but the better managed stores do a better job keeping their inventory current.) Today was the last straw. I ordered an AC adapter/charger online, for pick up in the store. This was for my special needs child, who is celebrating his birthday and wants to use the gift he has been waiting very eagerly to enjoy. Online, they showed the item in stock at this location, so it could be promptly picked up, and the price was pretty good too. In retrospect, I would have been wise to have just bought the unit at Best Buy, which does online orders and pick up well .. and does price match Walmart. So after two hours, my online Walmart.com account indicates that the item should be ready for pickup, but I have not gotten an email confirmation. I drive to the store, figuring I can always just pull the item myself, if they are not ready. I must wait in line at Customer Service for 15 minutes, and then rather than help me, the clerk tells me that I need to use an online terminal. When I put my order into the terminal, it indicates that I need to speak to a customer representative. (It is now three hours since the order was placed.) Instead of waiting in line again to speak to the human, I just walk down to Electronics, where I find two of the chargers in the game area. We are talking about an item that costs less than $10, but it is locked down. I show my phone to the sales clerk, explaining that I have ordered the item for pick up at the store. He tells me that they are not allowed to "price match" .. including Walmart.com, so if he sells me the item, I will have to pay more... even though I have already placed a Walmart.com order for in store pickup. So back to customer service, wait in line, and tell the customer service person I need help from a store manager. The manager has to then walk with me back to electronics, so that she can tell the floor clerk to honor my order. The clerk then has to wait for the cabinet key, which another clerk has. I was in that store for more than an hour to complete my "speedy online pickup" .. and of course there was no apology for all this nonsense. In the past if I got to Best Buy before an item got to the pick up area (and they generally have items there within 15 minutes), the clerk can just scan the item and the bar code on my phone, and I am on my way. Now honestly, none of the employees was rude .. and the clerks were only following the store policies, but this resulted in a really messed up customer experience. I would be really impressed if the store management reviewed my ordeal, made changes so more customers do not leave the store disgusted, and shared the action plan with me .. but I am not holding my breath. It is experiences like this one which are speeding up the death of brick and mortar stores, which will put all these people on the unemployment line. read more

Buyers be Aware! Since we are going through tough times, it's understandable that every store has different policies for certain areas of the store. However I am speaking in reference to their Clothing/apparel department. If you buy anything, a shirt, shoes, shorts or even a BELT. I promise you they will not take it back for a return or an exchange. Now again, I understand the concern during COVID, I also understand that they are just following corporate policies they have to abide by. What I don't appreciate is when you go into the clothing section there are NO signs warning you that you may not exchange or return an item presently during COVID. Now when I approached this specific point to an assistant manager one day, all they said is that it's the customers responsibility to know the returns and exchanges policies during this time prior before entering the store. In someways yes, the customer should be notified, however how is a customer suppose to know where they need to find this information? Oh wait, it's a small wallet size sign in the customer care center desk..... A normal customer is going to come in and walk to the customer care center to look for a small wallet size sign. When I asked if they should possibly put these small signs in the clothing section of men and women, she very thoughtfully said "we don't have to put them anywhere, we're not asked to put them there and we will not be putting them there..." So in a lot of ways it's like false advertisement. They want the customer to buy their cheap/overpriced clothing so that way they can get ripped off. When I asked when the returns/exchanges will be opening up, they had no clue. They advised the customer to hold on to an item with the receipt and when they open those doors again, then they can return it. But the funny thing is...with more cases on COVID on the rise, what customer is actually going to hold on to an item they can't use or a receipt that long? Come on Walmart, your a multi billion dollar company. Let's show some appreciation towards your customers who are flocking to your stores. read more

I've been here many times and I can't believe that I haven't written a review yet. When I used to live in San Jose, this is the closest Walmart to us so I was a frequent customer. Back then, the place was run down and it really needed a renovation. Now, they've changed for the better. When you first walk in, there is a produce section on your left and the bakery is right next to it. Along with that, there are refrigerators and freezers filled with food. The whole store was clean and organized. The last time I was here, they seemed to be pushing everyone to use the self-checkout machines. This is an opportunity to throw in your loose coins! This Walmart is really as Ghetto as it gets- You would expect people to be working 24HRS in this place because, of course, the store is opened 24HRS, but if no one is answering the phone in the electronics dept. or even front desk, one has to imagine if there are any "LIVE" people working in the store. Even robots would answer the phones because they are programmed to and they are not given a sense of human error, um, what I meant to say was "freedom". Hey #walmart Auto-Department, How did my luggage, that was in my trunk, end up on the front-passenger seat? I came in for an oil-change. Tip: DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE IN YOUR CAR (including your trunk) if you are having your car serviced in the Walmart auto department... The Walmart Associate purposely removed the personal property from the trunk / placed it on the front-passenger seat, left the (previously locked) + (manual locking system) front-passenger door unlocked, left the front-passenger door slightly ajar, and had left the (previously unopened) luggage open. Time to research exactly how much each item "was" worth. Fortunately, there were more intriguing reasons to sit outside today than to simply enjoy the weather; such as, wondering exactly what the technician had wanted to accomplish with the amount of cameras onsite - from the engine bay -- to where he had parked my car. With so little time and pocket space, rash decision must have been made. Gosh, besides having my personal property ransacked AND LEFT WIDE OPEN during that short duration of time, it leaves me to wonder what else may have transpired, if I wasn't sitting next to where the customer cars are parked once completed. Apparently from the previous yelp reviews, car break-ins are common at this location. Maybe the ransacking was only just the beginning of this diabolical scheme... Maybe there were going to be Associates of the Wal-Mart Associates involved... Unfortunately for them, we won't find out today. Congratulations Wal-Mart! Way to violate whatever trust I had left for this cooperation and the hardworking employees in the auto-department. If everything had been placed back into the trunk as you stated.... please explain why: one piece of luggage was left on the front-passenger seat, the front-passenger door was unlocked, and, the front-passenger door was slightly ajar.... Customer Support Contacted (Twice) - Once prior to contacting store manager, and once after being blown off by store manager. Obviously there are either not enough cameras put in place to protect their customer's cars while they're are being serviced; or, the manager is obliviously lying and attempting to cover her friend's butt. Of course Easter Sunday everything was closed and I needed to grab something so I made the dreadful trip to Walmart and not 5 minutes in the store I'm walking down a main isle and an employee (Vidhi) who was on her phone while pushing a cart full of stuff near me, wasn't paying attention and pushed the metal cart full of stuff into the side of my leg and foot. It had hurt because either wasn't soft and she had busted one of the spikes off my Christian Louboutins. I confronted her about it and she said it wasn't her fault. She said she didn't even do that either. I told her these were 1,000$ shoes and asked if she was going to replace them since she busted them, and she said no. Of course not, now I have to take them in to get fixed, super inconvenient when it could've easily been avoided. Do not opt to pick up your online order in store, unless it is a small item. Ordered a soundbar online and opted to pick up in store. It took about 45 minutes of waiting after check-in at the pickup tower before someone could help me and get me my product. The other 20 people waiting for their pick-up orders also suffered a similar problem, with one person noting she had been waiting for nearly 2 hours. The 3 staff members who were responsible for bringing customers their purchased items seemed very poorly trained or just incompetent. Example: Myself and another customer spelled out our names multiple times just to have an employee misspell it back multiple times, then show us the list of customers' names to have us pick out our names. The other guy's name was John. From what it sounded like, there weren't more than two customers named John on that list. Customers are queued in the order they checked in and are displayed on a screen. As customers are helped, names are removed from the queue. However, customers were not being helped in the order they were queued. There was no order to it. When they finally got some complaints about not going in order, they started helping people sequentially, but it was not well thought out. Example: Employee calls out customer 11. 11 gets helped then removed from the queue. He continues by calling out customer 12, 13, 14, but because 11 was removed from the queue, everyone's numbers have shifted, so the customer who just went from 12 to 11 gets skipped. read more

OMG, what a terrible place. I returned something I bought just a few days ago in an unopened box. The woman in yellow behind the service desk tried to bully me into not returning the item. She tried "why are you returning it?" in a very accusatory tone. Then she tried to say it's been opened and can't be returned. When I insisted that it hasn't been opened, she said she wanted to inspect it. Once the box opened up for her to see the inside, she promptly claimed "it's been opened!!!" Came to the Walmart at 11:10am on a Saturday to get a 2019 annual fishing license and some bait&tackle but none of the employees, four to be exact, could assist us with buying a fishing license. Waited 10 minutes and thought we had found a savior when Assistant Manager David came around a corner but even he couldn't track down someone to sell us a license. I'm not sure how a license is sold and what qualifications you need for an employee to sell a license but Walmart needs to do a better job at making sure they're qualified. (And, as it turned out, the van's engine died a month later- the junkyard gods at San Jose Pick n' Pull received another offering for their volcano, albeit with a new battery from Costco. We received 1000.00. Happy Christmas.) In December, we went to this Walmart for purchasing beer and food for a holiday party. The problem we encountered was NOT in finding the items. That's the easy part. We found what we needed. It's the cashiers. I made the initial mistake of going up to the self check for the beer. "You can't pay for that here! You have to go to regular check-out!" Okay, that one's on me. I forgot that you can't pay for alcohol at a self check. However, there are nicer ways to address this with a customer, My husband suggests we do a divide-and-conquer maneuver with the check stands. He has purchases that we need to separate for reimbursements. It might speed things up, We have other errands. Let's go. I wait in a line, while a cashier is ringing up, bagging purchases and loading a cart for a customer who is not at the register. No response in what's going on. He returns to the register, and is trying to complete the purchase with a defective gift card. Repeatedly, the card cannot be processed. The repeated routine has gotten old, just like my time. I see another cashier opening nearby. I ask if she can take my purchases. She rings up my items, but refuses to bag my items. I ask her why, and she tells me, "I'm on break" That's an interesting sense of presence. It's like Schrodinger's Cat. You are on break, but yet you aren't because you did process my purchase. So, like the cat, are you alive or dead? As usual, I have the Milpitas cashier that does not want to bother with bagging your merchandise. This has been true for me since, time began with the Milpitas Walmart. I must have this gift of always getting the lazy cashier at this particular Walmart. (And, by the way, please remember to take your bags off the carousel. They won't, whether you bought bags or brought your own with California's bag laws. You are responsible for loading your cart. My first visit back since their expansion, and it's a vast improvement! Not only do they now carry grocery's, but they've made the aisles wider, so a lot less squeezing by carts and bumping into people. But they need to have someone, on a regular basis, go through the shelves and put away items that customers dump there. There's a lot of out of place merchandise, especially in the grocery department. And now, they've got someone, just like in Costco, standing at the exit, checking your receipt. Very barbaric. Seriously, ever let a customer off that paid $50 worth of stuff for a 10 cent bag? Most would let it pass knowing it was their fault for not ringing it up in the first place. Told her again I needed to go to the car to get change and she hollered like I had stolen something as I was walking out 'You didn't pay for a bag!' Self checkout is busy here for a reason. I just left Super Walmart in Milpitas where I witnessed FATIMA a manager/coach disrespect a senior/older employee in front of everyone. It was heartbreaking to see a younger manager treat this senior/older employee like a child in front of everyone. It wasn't just disturbing to see FATIMA cut this senior/older employee off in conversation as she tried to explain herself but the fact that she disrespected her out in public SO LOUDLY. I heard of some young Walmart mangers/coaches taking advantage and disrespecting senior/older employees but I never WITNESSED it until today. FATIMA should've spoken to this senior/older employee away from the public eye instead of embarrassing her in public and in front of her coworkers. Shame on you FATIMA. Picture this: The Smith family is driving down 880 to San Jose. They see the Walmart on the right side. "Hey Ethel, we need ta pick up anything at the Wall-Marx?" "Yeah. Let's go on in." So the Smiths take 237, then McCarthy Ranch. And they drive . . . and drive . . . and stop . . . and crawl a little more . . . and fight traffic. . . and they can't go over 20 mph . . . and drive more . . . and after a lot of hassle, finally get to the Wall-Marx. Inside, it's a somewhat typical Walmart. Complete with some of the People Of Walmart. Lots of merchandise, just about everything you need. Low prices. Grocery section on the left. Nonexistent customer service. On the one hand, it's a convenient location, at the intersection of two major freeways. On the other hand, it's a deceiving location, because it's at the far end of the McCarthy Ranch Shopping Center, and it's so brutal getting there that it lost a star. On the other hand, Walmart demands acres of land for their one-story stores with lots of parking, and there's not that much land left in Silicon Valley. So here they are. I've gone to this Walmart several times - until today's experience. There are two terrible developments at this store: (1) This is where I've bought several boxes of ammo. Good ammo at good prices, this was the only Bay Area Walmart that sold it. I went here today to get a few more boxes . . . no more. Customer service confirmed that they don't sell it anymore. It looks like this Walmart has given in to the anti-second-amendment loonies who are okay with a criminal black market for weapons as long as law-abiding citizens cannot legally acquire them to protect their families. (2) Half of the checkout lines are now scan-and-go lines. These were barely used, and the self-check area wasn't used much either. The two lines with live checkers were both very long. Which tells me that this Walmart is trying to fire the checkers. Not surprisingly, the customer service staff was more snarly here than in any other Walmart I've been to. If this store treats them that way, I don't blame them for being snarly. So I will not be returning to this Walmart, they're now one star and they lost a customer. I discovered a few weeks ago that there's another Walmart in Fremont, off Auto Mall Parkway, I'll be trying that one out. And I hope the Smith family goes to that Walmart too. read more

PARKING: huge lot so there is always parking even if you have to park far away or on the side of the building instead of in the front. INSIDE: they recently renovated so there are groceries on the left side with refrigerators. CASHIERS: lots more cashiers probably planning ahead for this year's holiday season compared to last year. PRODUCTS: of course it's Walmart so prices are pretty cheap compared to other places. OVERALL: I like this location because it's pretty big and it has a Redbox machine inside! Of course it is a Walmart so you have your usual kids running around and crying at times. I took off a couple stars because I've had a rude cashier before. And I may put more stars once they are done with renovating. Seems like everytime I come here they are doing construction on something. SIDE NOTE: they sell a deep fryer to deep fry turkeys! This review is for the photo lab from hell (parts of this I actually sent to Walmart asking for a refund). Here's what happened. 1) Ordered prints online (8x10s to go in frames to our parents at our rehearsal dinner). 2) Showed up at Walmart. Was told that I needed original photographer's signature (would have been nice to have been contacted about this before driving over). 3) After having photographer form faxed, arrived at Walmart, saw pictures and was told they never received form. (While they looked for the form I considered grabbing the already paid for photos and sprinting towards the exit. I was there the day before my wedding with my rehearsal dinner a few hours later. I was pretty pissed.) 4) Went home and faxed another form. 5) Called and found out they never received form. Also, they couldn't find photos and claim they were never processed even though I saw them in person (during the considering stealing them incident). Never again, Walmart. Refund my money. And consider finding a replacement for your (no kidding) be-mulleted photo lab lady who apparently can't tell the difference between her ass and a fax machine. read more

This review is for their newly extended Grocery sections in particular. Walmart Supercenter at Ranch Dr has been greatly useful for me since they upgraded their store with all new fresh produces with huge fruits & vegetables selection, facilitating organic specifics too. Whatever items I've picked up so far are decent quality-wise and worthy enough investing in here, as I find them to be half of what I used to pay at other grocery chains in the bay area. They've even opened bakery section, fairly small sized, spotted some delicious store made cakes, not too sure about store made breads though. Probably the time me & the hubby visited, there wasn't too much stock. They've introduced large and multiple aisles of Frozen sections too, am sure they are good bets. Other than above, I used to previously visit here and have tried their home/ office/ kitchen departments. By far, I've been justly satisfied with those purchases too. In general, the store is Big & Super Clean with many helpful & friendly staff (both inside and on the bill counters). Till date, whatever I need, I've never stepped out of the store without finding the exact one or a good & fine replacement of what I had been looking for. I gotta really appreciate all their seasonal upgrades during each festive time like Halloween/ Thanksgiving or the on-going Christmas one. They've a separate mega section, specially offering all the Christmas decors for sale, at very reasonable prices. I picked some cool stuff last year and hope to find different unique ones this year too. Additional Tips, - There is ample Self Check-Out counters in the store now. This helps to avoid long waits. - Despite introducing alternative speedy check-out counters, Friday nights are still extremely busy and expect delays accordingly. read more

Walmart isn't my first choice for shopping. I'm an avid Target shopper but if I'm in the area and we need to pick up a few things we'll stop in. The store can be disorganized at times but the last time I was there (4th of July weekend) it was cleaner and they even had some displays up. We were in the area and the boys needed a new pair of flip flops. We stopped in for the flip flops but ended up picking up a bag of chips and charcoal along the way. Service was pleasant. They don't have workers checking your receipt or cart anymore which is a relief. It's understandable at Costco but not Walmart since everything you buy gets bagged minus paper towels and anything else that don't fit in the plastic bags. Today I scored a kids play tent on Walmart.com for $20+free shipping on ALL camping gear. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can surprise my kiddies :) read more

I come here as a last resort. This place can get really packed with people on a mission to get things cheaper. I try my best to avoid this place, but for whatever reason every blue moon or so I end up here and regret it within minutes. Service is very spotty and they truly don't care much on what you're looking for and I don't blame them as they are swamped with people at every corner. They do have hostess zingers, so that's a bonus and pretty much everything is pretty darn cheap. Still, avoid if you can. read more

WHY ohhh WHY do I have to even get it 1 star! This place has actually gotten worse, and I didn't think it was possible. I understand they are doing renovation and working on expanding the massive mess. I get that, I understand that I am of FLUFFY size and the isles are now too narrow for two carts to go down and pass each other. Check and I can still fit. I understand that I can expect screaming kids. OKAY! BUT.... For CUSTOMER SERVICE to be so bad is ridiculous~ I went to this WALMART knowing I needed to take a pill before I go in, I did that. I go to ask where something is and this lady points me in the direction that I just came from. I explain that I just looked over there then she points in some random direction and I said WHERE? I said YOU NEED TO SHOW ME WHERE EXACTLY. she huffs like a dragon and then speaks under her breathe then I follow the woman. Later I went to electronics and was looking for a cell phone holder for the car and I asked this lady kneeling down sorting out price tags. I asked her 4 times nicely if she can let me know where to go and THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. I asked a passer by guy employee and he was nice and said, let me show you. The woman kneeling down looked up at me and then said, "Well, it might be...." I stopped her and asked her name. She said JOSEPHINE... So I said JOSEPHINE, you ignored me that past 5 minutes and my 4 times in asking you so DO NOT ACT LIKE YOU WANT TO HELP NOW. I was so irritated. (taking another pill while following the nice electronic guy). I even explained to him I felt bad for the people he has to work with. I thank him for his help and I hope it gets better. I go to check out and am very irritated. The Check out chickie never said "HI", never said "HELLO" never said "Did you find everything okay" NADA! I said HELLO! HOW ARE YOU? She just looked at me. I was then asking for the manager. The cashier then pointed me to where I can find her, I said No, You can get her for me. I'm am all done with this finger pointing game. As I waited for the manager another cashier was scratching her BOOB in the check out stand ... REALLY???? SCRATCHING HER BOOB AND SAW ME LOOKING STRAIGHT AT HER. OMG..... WHY LORD... Hey, it's 6 a.m. Saturday, and I'm awake. I'll need to go to Milpitas at 10 AM anyway - let's just do this week's fun grocery haul at Wally. Wheeeeeee Wallyworld fun in the early AM. This Wallyworld is not as terrible as people make it out to be. I guess they've done some construction to improve the produce, but they carry the same sort of items found at other locations. Actually, it's a Supercenter so the food selection there is actually more extensive than the MV Wally. Prices are also about the same. Walmart's EDLP ensures prices are significantly lower than you find at other grocery stores, so I am not complaining. A Whole New World......I totally didn't know any of this stuff existed over here in Milpitas because this Walmart is surrounded by other stores so a one stop pit stop for Ross, Wally, Dollar Tree, and dinner(s). Okey dokes time for some logistics - In regards to safety, there was definitely security around and this is one of the remaining stores that checks your receipt on the way out. #crimstatus They also have self checkout. They only have huge carts and no baskets. I always dig myself in a hole and get too much stuff to carry so I got a huge cart. So got some fun stuff, went on my merry way. read more

Like a 6 year old kid. No joke. I can't make this stuff up. Peeps be coming out the WOODWORK to bring the crazy up in this Walmart. Also, staff is non-existent and super rude of you do locate a team member, and they give their friends priority line cutting. Not the business. Walmart Supercenter - one of their new efficient automotive booking Centers. - Department Stores Near Me - Milpitas, California

An experience that started out not so great at the tire center ended up very good. We saved some money and the work was done efficientlyy and correctly. I would actually recommend this place. I usually buy tires at Costco, but we got lucky that we ended up here. Paid $71/tire and had a $36 oil change. Less than $400 and we only waited an hour or so (not counting the hellishly slow line to place the order). All good in the end. Our story: Husband suggested we head to Dave & Buster's to have some Sunday fun. Unfortunately, his tire had low air when we reached our parking lot. No big deal, right? Fix-a-flat to the rescue. Except that his Altima Hybrid has sensors in the tire and you are definitely not supposed to fill them with Fix-A-Flat. $#*! Thought about that a little too late and it wasn't far down the freeway that his car was doing a weird rumbly, shake thing. We decided it was time to just replace the tires completely. We hoped there was somewhere near D&B so that we could go have fun while the shop did the work. What we found was the Walmart Tire Center. We first called Walmart to see if this location even had a tire center. We then wanted to know if they were open. We were transferred to the Tire Center and the phone rang and rang and rang. We called back and again, no answer. Plus, the person transferring our call didn't understand that we didn't need to speak to anyone, we just wanted to know if they were open. We arrived to find they did have a tire center. They slow line was being worked by two employees. Thank goodness the guy working was who ended up helping us because the girl working moved like glue. Super slow speed. We were told it'd be two and a half hours so we decided to go for a hike. Didn't get far though before CAsey's phone rang and we were called back to sign a new work order since they were out of our tires. First we were quoted a new price on the phone $3 more / tire. But when we arrived it was $12 more / tire. But finally the same guy helping us suggesting a different tire which SAVED us $7 / tire. That was awesome. Also, the time it took to get the work done was about half of what they quoted. read more
