I texted the number and Mario was able to set me up with an appointment for the upcoming Tuesday of that week. The process was pretty quick. Mario took my measurements, he explained the rental process, let me look at some designs and ultimately gave me freedom on the color I wanted. Price was what I expected between $250 and $300, including the 2 piece blazer and pants, white shirt, matching vest and two ties to choose from. They could have included shoes as well but I had my own pair. I'm not sure if that would have altered the price. It took about 5 days for it to be ready, as I could have picked it up the following Monday but it was a busy day for me. Mario even let me try it on and make alterations before I walked out ensuring that my suit was the perfect fit for my special day. Overall, the customer service was top notch and I felt like I was able to take my time throughout the experience despite all the stress that comes with getting married. It took 3 stylists just to hook the dress together before it could be zipped up. I had not gained any weight since ordering, and the dress felt like it had been ordered a size too small. The stylist who was helping me put on the dress kept reassuring me that the gown had a hard corset, and because it was strapless, it was meant to fit that tightly. Well before my actual wedding, I had my courthouse ceremony... I needed a lot of help to get the dress hooked on, and when it came time to drive to the courthouse, I couldn't even sit up. I had to lean the car seat all the way back in order to make it to the courthouse. The entire afternoon I was so uncomfortable that I didn't even want to drink water. After that experience, I brought my dress to Marina at Le Caprice. She took one look at my back and didn't even bother zipping me up. She assured me that my dress was too small, that it was not just in my head, and offered to remove the zipper and replace it with a corset back! I was nervous because I really loved the top part of my dress and how snatched it made my waist look, but when I received my dress it still looked just as perfect! I did try on all her options she presented and I had seen a dress I inquired about but she advised it was out of my budget. She didn't push that dress and we did end up trying it on for fun but she was transparent the price couldn't go down so I appreciate that she was honest and not a pushy saleswoman. Turns out the very first dress I tried on this appointment was the dress I ended up picking. She nailed it from the first dress. The dress needed some adjustment as it was completely see through on the waist and she showed us options to line it with a nice fabric so my skin wouldn't be exposed. I felt so comfortable knowing we can fix the dress and adjust how we wanted with very little pushback. She offered her expertise and knowledge on how to fix the dress the best way. My alteration appointment was very straight to the point and the tailor had a lot of experience. One concern was that additional tariff and tip charges were added at checkout without being clearly disclosed beforehand. During the alterations appointment, we also overheard the owner on the phone referring to another client as a "nightmare client," which changed the atmosphere for us. Later, while the dress was being pinned, we were told several stories about brides who had problems after using outside alteration services. While that may have been intended as advice, it came across more as pressure to keep alterations in-house. We were then quoted approximately $1,200 for fairly limited alterations on a $3,000 dress -- mainly taking it in at the waist and hemming the length. After speaking with someone experienced in bridal alterations, we were told that quote seemed quite high for the work being done. It wouldn't be that annoying since it really is my own fault but I gave the woman an extra week to fix it after she told me she was unable to do it in the original allotted time. I really should've checked in store before I left so it's mostly on me and they were a nice enough staff, just be careful before you pay. Either way, I paid full price for all of this and it wasn't cheap so I'm annoyed since I'll have to pay for them again to get done somewhere else properly.

I wish I had a before picture because this dress was literally hanging off of me. I lost roughly 35lbs and the dress had no shape at all. But Halena worked her magic and I received so many compliments on the dress. All in all, I had the dress length hemmed, a hidden American style bustle put in, the original bra cups taken out and replaced with proper fitting cups, the dress was taken in on the sides with boning and extra fabric, and fabric was added to raise the back armpit higher. The waistband was also taken in and she placed an elastic loop and hook to the detachable skirt so that it would stay firmly in place on my dress during the ceremony. I feel like I had the dress re-worked entirely and it came out so beautiful. Communication was so clear and on point with both Helena and Kyle and I appreciated that so much. It is a bit on the pricey side, but again my dress needed so much work, and the fact that it came out in such a gorgeous manner, made it so worth it. I would highly recommend Halena for any of your bridal dress alterations, as you will not be disappointed.
