My husband and I were extremely dissatisfied with the auto care center. After we paid for an oil change we realized all the fluids were low / empty and I am questioning what they even did. We ended up buying and refilling all new fluids on our own. My husband will not be coming back here. I am going to give other Wal Mart auto care centers a chance but I would not go here unless you absolutely have to. read more

While they have everything we need, I can't even count on 2 hands how many times we've had to bring produce or Great Value meat back for being spoiled once we open it. Overall, the staff is not friendly and not very on top of their game to put it nicely. There is ALWAYS only 1-2 registers open or you're expected to check yourself out (I have found this to be true on any day at any time.) I've had nothing but bad experiences at this walmart. First a disgusting man working at a cashier demanded to look in my personal bag and refused to sell me anything when I denied. Complaining to a manager was fairly easy, but who knows if they did anything about it. The second time a disgusting woman at the customer service desk refused to refund me with cash. I got a useless Walmart gift card and am not planning on shopping back here. Tonight I had ran out of formula for my new born and desperately needed to grab some. I quickly went into panic mode as I googled the hours for this store. Online it stated that this location closed at midnight. I jumped in my truck and was off in a flash. I went to this Walmart on 9/13/19. I arrived at 11:48pm as I sprinted towards the doors knowing that the store closed soon but I had more then enough time to quickly grab what I needed and check out. As I approached the door a manager stood guard yelling as I came to a sudden stopped. "We are closed!" She yelled. I looked at my watch. "I thought you guys closed at midnight?" I questioned caught off guard. The Walmart employee responded very rudely as if this was a ordinary thing stores do. "We close at a quarter to midnight sir." I of course was filled with rage stated that they need to reflect that online and on the store signs if they won't let customers in. As I ran back to my truck in a panic, thoughts racing through my head of, what other stores could be open? Am I going to have to call around to family members and friends and wake them up for help? Do I need to ISO on Facebook embarrassingly asking desperately to get my new born fed? Look I have worked in retail for a lot of years of my life and yes I know that every employee hates a customer that comes in last minute. But as a society we have hours of operations for a reason. Especially when you as a company have medical supplies, groceries, and pretty much have everything needed for emergencies. What I witnessed at this store was rude and atrocious. Luckily the Target around the corner from this store did not give me any trouble at all. Target let me right in with 2 minutes to spare as the clock tolled midnight I was out of Target and on my way home to a very full and happy new born. Walmart should be embarrassed to call themselves a customer service leader. Walmart needs to change their hours of operations on both google and store front to reflect their policy of actually "closing". Lessons I've learned, don't go to a store that pays their employees enough to only care about when that time to close is, buy more then two formula containers at a time, Utah doesn't believe in being open 24/7 and Sundays are just not a day, shop at Target, and never EVER go the Walmart in Midvale Utah ever again. I've been coming here a lot for little birthday presents and other miscellaneous stuff, never had a good enough or bad enough experience worthy of a review. But oh boy did I have a really bad experience today. Jackie, one of the two managers on duty, got so frustrated explaining that the "buy online, pick up today" offer on their website doesn't really mean today, it really means 24 hours later that when we asked her why was that she had no better answer than to say: "well, honestly it's because Walmart is just stupid". I mean, this is no teenager who hates his job and somehow I can justify the lack of better and more professional vocabulary. This is a 40ish lady, all grown up, who -I don't know how - managed to advance to a managerial position, lacking professionalism and customer service skills. Just like that, she tells a customer that she thinks walmart is stupid. Right in front of her employees and other customers. Dead silence for a minute We didn't even know how to react. We were blown away. I could hear customers behind us exchanging shocking comments to one another. I asked her (to confirm) if she was a manager, and she said yes, then immediately blushed. I guess at some point you gotta realize you messed up and chose the wrong words... But still no correction, no apology for trashing her employer. I reminded her of her position and her poor choice of words but she was defiant. We had to be the bigger person apparently, and let her walk away. The way she said it also implied she was fed up with working there. I feel bad for her, but having a good work ethic is part of being professional. Even if you don't believe in what you or your employee represent, don't say it out loud! In front of customers and your direct employees!! Honestly, Walmart would do much better without employees like her, especially in a leadership position. On a happier note, an employee at the site-to-store was so nice and friendly and went above and beyond to expedite our order that somehow she managed to make us smile again. Maybe Walmart in Midvale should reevaluate their promoting practices and put the ones with good customer service skills above the ones that may need some coaching... I saw several with smiles on their faces, happy to just have a job. No job is perfect, but somehow you have to put your happy pants on and keep your frustrations for after work! read more

This is closest Wal-Mart to me and it offers everything you need. The parking is a Joke but because this is the HUB of Midvale it makes sense. You can get produce, craft items and your cleaning supplies here. What they lack in Customer service they make up in Low prices. It 'aint pretty, but it works! read more

The place was not organized in a neat manner, but the real let down came with the help. I went to print pictures and waited at the photo desk for 20 minutes before someone came to help. It is only as a last resort that I shop at this WalMart. No matter what time of day or night I'm there, no matter how busy the store is, there are only two checkout lines that are open. Even if there are long lines of customers, this WalMart refuses to open more lines. Making things worse, the folks working the registers are slow and inefficient. But long, slow checkout lines is not the only issue. It is nearly impossible to find someone to assist you while you're shopping. I bought a cake for my sons birthday from there bakery and was presented his cake in a frozen lemon pie box instead of a cake box, very ghetto indeed, looked like I bought it illegally off the back of a pick up truck. Can I give half a star? I wish I could. Store is dirty, run down, and the aisles are a mess. Checkout typically has five or less aisles open, with huge lines. I understand every store will have an unexpected rush, but when there's lines of people waiting, you shouldn't come up to a register where the cashier says she's shutting down the aisle. Poor management is what it comes down to. I'd recommend driving to another Walmart...or better yet, go to the Target down the road, which has none of these issues. read more

I got a nail in one of my car's tires and thought I needed to buy a new one (good bye $150...) but took it in to this Walmart's tire center and had it repaired very well for the staggering amount of $10! The older guy that was running the shop that day was super friendly and the mechanics were quick to fix my tire. Above all I appreciate their honesty. Most other mechanics would have told me I needed a new tire knowing full well it was an easy fix *cough*Lucky's Auto Credit*cough* and would have made me pay an arm and a leg and my first born for something unnecessary. Alright! This goes to all the wallmart locations that i have been to! I love to shop at wal-mart because the fact is that it is half the price as other big name chains! It does save me a lot of money! BUT!!!!!! even though money is saved they lack greatly customer service skills one of the most irritating things is that i had purchased an item that was tampered with and i had not noticed it untill the cashier had run it over the scanner! Well i said i did not want it and the cashier said i would have to take it to customer service. I ask why do i need to go over to customer service when i am still checking out? I am right here just delete the item! then the cashier said the register wouldn't allow it! OK! I have shopped at a lot of stores before and have never had a problem returning an item while i was still being checked at the register! I avoid this Wal-Mart if I can help it. There's always a line, and there's no self-checkout. Last time I went, the express lane only had senior citizen cashiers, and it took FOREVER to check out. If I were ever to move to Hollywood and change careers, I would shoot a comedy film that included a "perfect" Walmart scene, where everything that is wrong with Walmart occurs in a five-minute sequence. I would make absolutely sure I could use this location. It would require no setup or actors. The highlights that make this location ideal for the project: 1) The first highlight would, unfortunately, be wasted on film. It hits you the moment you walk in the door, follows you throughout your visit, and lingers on your clothes until you wash them. I am, of course, referring to the delightfully pungent stench that permeates all corners of the store. Since they added a Subway to this location ~15 years ago, the entire store has its own very unique fume. I am not talking about the freshly baked bread smell that you and I have come to expect from Subway. Let us appreciate for a moment that this is truly unique; every Subway I have ever entered in any city, state, or country, has smelled the exact same delicious way. The only exception is this Midvale Fort Union Walmart location, which smells unquestioningly of vomit. Is it actually vomit? Probably not. I imagine that if someone had vomited in the store around the time they added the Subway a decade and a half ago, an employee would have cleaned it up by now. Then again... 2) Ah, the dirt. The spills. The unidentified substances on the floors and shelves. It's everywhere... It's permanent. 3) The hilariously ineffective staff. During any one trip to this Walmart, you are sure to see at least 10 employees. Two of them are on sloth-like checkout duty, one is stocking shelves, and the other seven are sitting comfortably saying "Hello" to anyone who walks by. On my last visit, I went into the garden center where sat yet another greeter. He forgot to greet me, as he and the very angry, animated woman stationed at the garden register were engaged a very heated argument. I wish I could report what the disagreement was, but the woman was screaming so shrilly that I could not understand a word she said. The man took the screaming like a champ, and we shoppers in the garden area hastily picked out what we needed and shuffled away as quickly as possible for fear of being witness to something for which we might be asked to testify in court. Also on this most recent trip to Walmart, I encountered the classic dozens-want-to-check-out-but-only-two-lanes-are-open issue. It was a Saturday around noon, but I should not be surprised; they do not even utilize their many registers on Black Friday. On this trip, I chose the lane with the shortest line and waited. I realized that being the third in line was better than I could have hoped for, so I was fairly chipper at that point. 20 minutes later, the woman running the register, who had been attempting to run the same coupon for the last 20 minutes, said something to me I couldn't understand and put a "LANE CLOSED" sign on the belt. I said "What?" She said "It take a while." She sat down and began making small talk with the customers who believed the coupon rejection was a mistake, and there she remained for the rest of my trip. A kind woman in the other open lane thankfully saw the whole thing and let me in front of her so I wouldn't have to wait another 20 minutes. That lady was the one in ten customers at this Walmart who is not weird or scary. Thank you, normal lady! 4) The customers. Oh my gosh, the customers! I am convinced that if someone performed a study on all pictures every submitted to the People of Walmart website, that person would find that the largest number of pictures came from the Fort Union location. Seriously. Like I said, normal people shop there, too... but they avoid it if at all possible, and Walmart is left with a strange imbalance of sane and insane. 5) The quality of products. I am pretty sure I bought three microwaves from this location over the course of a year before I became wise and chose a new vendor. It's been about 10 years, and I haven't had to buy a microwave since! In conclusion, this Walmart is the absolute best... as long as you have all day, a strong stomach, an affinity for people-watching, and a great sense of humor. read more

I recently attempted to have a key made at the Minute Key located at this Walmart*. For whatever reason, the machine would not accept my money, despite multiple attempts. As a result, I choose to have my money refunded. Minute Key sent me a text instructing me to "show the text to customer service for a refund." When I went to customer service, I was told, "We've never given a refund for Minute Key." That's it! No, goodbye. No, "Let me call around and see if someone else may know how to handle this situation." Nothing. Ordered new tires for my classic Mustang, BF Goodrich Radial T/As P215 60R14 raised white letter, everything was great, the online order, the message to come pick them up flawless. I went today to pick up the tires and they were wrong, the sticker on the tread of the tire had the correct description but the the tires were P195 60R15 blackwalls. I am surprised that no one in quality control actually checked the sidewall of the tires. BF Goodrich obviously have mismarked the tires. read more
