The owner is friendly and happy to help, and the prices are reasonable. I came across the most amazing Danbury Mint bird collectible with some of my favorite species (such as the Cedar Waxwing), but I didn't end up getting it this time around. If collecting bottles or spice containers interest you, there are plenty to choose from. Upstairs were plenty of gorgeous dinnerware pieces, but personally I haven't started my own collection of that yet. Conveniently located close to I-15 in Murray, be sure to come here and spend some time browsing through all the knick knacks. You're bound to find something to take home, be it a small item or a larger collectible. We will definitely be back the next time we visit SLC.

Some were about par for the course for collectors items, sort of. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Their new stuff isn't bad, but the prices are INSANELY high. The common price for a newly sealed vinyl is about 30 dollars. What! Piss the bed! On another note I'm going to share a very sad story. Today I had some records I was going to bring in to sell, but I knew I was coming a kinda close to closing time so I called beforehand and asked if they'd have time to go through them tonight and they said yes. I told them I had a 20 minute drive and I'd be there soon and they said that would be okay. Sublime. So I drove there with all my stuff in my car and brought it inside and they're all like "we can't take these today, bring them in next week." Hello? I just drove 20 minutes to get here because you told me it was fine! I asked if I could leave the stuff there and they said there was "nothing they could do." Shameful. Graywhale's customer service has never been great but I expected they'd try to do something to make it right. These people do not care about their customers! Go to Randy's Records instead. They have a better selection and better prices!

My dad recently visited salt lake and I told him to check it out. He said the same thing, and he's been to far more places than me, he's traveled the whole world and pretty sure every state. But he agreed, this is the best antique store. He then told me that the owner is being forced to close shop because whoever bought the building is increasing his rent from 8k to 60k a month. She had seen it advertised on Instagram (well done, marketing team!) and was excited to see it in real life. It was well worth battling the construction zone on 21st south. Of all the thrift shops we visited, this one might be my favorite. There's a local flair-artisan products, accessories, etc. It's got an upscale and edgy boutique feel. But then you descend the staircase down a few decades to the thrift portion of the store-where you'll find even more treasures. I have always loved the fashion of the 1960's and there were plenty of adorable dresses and scarves that represent the era well. I shed a tear that my giant feet wouldn't fit in the beautiful Jimmy Choos that were on the shelf (seriously-if you're a 7 1/2, get there quick before someone snags them!) I'm so glad to have discovered Unhinged and will undoubtedly be back!

On the other hand; an antiquer will love what they find true antiques, heavy on old-school cabinets and tables. You'll also find a lot of old books, dishes, toys, jars, sports gear, chachkies, trunks, phonographs, crocks, and a whole bunch of other treasures. Most of the stuff in Carmen Mirandas seems to be 50-100 years old, and not a lot of fluff ... unless you count the dust bunnies! They've been around for 35 years, so they're doing something right. I'll climb over old furniture if I have to.
