I did a charge on a transaction with my EBT card, and accidentally hit 'cash' instead of 'food'. At (lack of) Customer Service, they said that they could only refund me $75 of the $200 transaction. I wasn't very happy about that, but then when I tried to do a return for $73 they weren't able to process the small refund, so they wouldn't even give me the 75 that they said they could. She (the mgr. or asst. mgr.) just told me she couldn't do it, and that was it. No explanation; no anything. Then the original person helping me, 'Manny', shoved my items towards me sharply, without even meeting my eyes! I waited for an apology as I gathered my things, but neither of them offered one. I was shocked at the lack of Customer service and their horrible attitudes... not even a smile, and an apology when they couldn't provide a service??? Rude AF. Costco is fabulous, you know Costco, it's great! Enormous quantities of quality products you probably don't need but it's super affordable for what you're getting. Best gas prices in town. Yes, it's crowded. I think maybe the tactic to actually save money at Costco is to only buy what you can carry. They sort of prey on our excitement over novelty and encourage you to wander by constantly moving things around and not labelling aisles. The one bad thing I'll say is once the pharmacy forgot about me and I waited for over half an hour for a scheduled vaccine after checking in and then they didn't even acknowledge it until I asked point blank. People that arrived 20 minutes after me, were called in before me even! My partner who checked in at same time got his vaccine after 5 minutes. They just started putting pieces together after they noticed me STILL sitting there. ANNOYING! I think I should have gotten a free shot or pastry for the trouble. :) One good thing I'll say about the pharmacy is sometimes prescriptions are cheaper when you use the Costco discount INSTEAD of your health insurance. Prescription insurance can be such a scam. You have to ask them to compare the price, they can't just tell you it's cheaper without insurance. read more

This Costco location is easy and convenient to access. It's right next to a freeway, adding to the convenience. The gas station here is easy to use and less busy than the Costco downtown. The store itself is smaller than the one downtown, but they have just as good items. The employers are always friendly, and I've never had an issue. read more

One of the female employees at the returns department was rude, I went to go return some packaged meat because I realized that the it was expiration date was past due (on the day I purchased it). She asked me if the item was opened, I said no, it was already expired so I'm not going to try it. She then said, "well just so you know, we throw away all perishables. I'll take the return but it's still being thrown away." Well, it shouldn't have been on the shelf in the first place. I don't care if it's being thrown away. Just do your job lady. Then another female employee at the exit who took my receipt, told me I had to use entrance door to go into the store next time... Is there anything better than a slice of pizza and a soft serve ice cream from Costco? I mean, come on, it's the best! I prefer this Costco to the downtown location because of the parking. Even on a busy Saturday afternoon we were able to find a decent parking spot. That being said, I wouldn't recommend coming here on a Saturday afternoon if you don't like crowds, but even with the crowds, the return and check out lines moved very quickly. Plus, there were lots of samples throughout, I'm not sure if that's a Saturday thing, but I loved it! I had a ton of items to return, and when I saw the line for the returns, I wanted to turn around. But by the time I got the items on a cart, they had moved through the returns line quickly and I was the next in line. Everything I had to return was done so very quickly and painlessly. I was so impressed! I love Costco because it's a great, affordable way to get groceries in bulk. Every time I come here I say to myself "I should shop here more", and it's my goal to do that this year. I needed toilet paper and a huge pack was only $20, which is insane. There is a membership fee, but it pays for itself pretty quickly. I can't remember how much it is, but mine auto-renews every year and I definitely get my money's worth. read more

TIRE CENTER REVIEW I had the pleasure of being helped by two technicians, Ben and Joe(?) I went in on Sunday needing new tires for the upcoming season, Ben was knowledgeable and assisted in selecting my new tires. They had mentioned tires that hit all of my criteria and were cheaper than the ones i previously had. They had advised me to come in at 9:55 am to get a walk in spot for the next day. I went in the next day and Joe (?) (blond/reddish hair), was quick to set me up and get my car in line for the walk in service, I left my car at 10 am and by 2 it was done. I picked it up and he was prompt with returning my keys and advising me on what do next. I am looking forward to coming to this Costco tire center for my future needs due to these two technicians service! HUGE win for the Costco team to have these technicians on board! read more

They act like the damn police at this location now, checked out today for $31 showed my card, and the woman at the register said "is your husband with you" when he's over buying a pizza. we have been going here forever, and now I hate it. If they had scan and go like Sam's Club it would be better, I don't like having the Costco police audit me every damn time I shop, which is OFTEN. JFC. I hate it here now, ugh. I typically go to the costco in west valley for convenience, but I might start coming here. At least today, there are far less people here than there typically are in west valley when I go. I also like that they only have 3 self serve computers at the food court instead of 6 like west valley. The reduced computers make it so there are far less people "in line" waiting for their number to be called, and therefore it's far less crowded read more

I wrote my last update just over a month ago, and um... much has changed since then. It's a different world out there, and Costco has been in the middle of this panic buying, pandemic supply firestorm. I write an update because of the one experience I had a couple of weeks ago. It had not been my intention to go here--I don't want to swarm to a place with a ton of other people, and even though this was still kinda early in the "social distancing" days, a family member informed me they had a prescription waiting here. I did not want them to have to pick it up, so I volunteered to go. When I got to the store, I found a long line of people out the door. They had closed the entire building (this was on earthquake day) and the line went down the entirety of the building, almost. I just want to give some love to the store manager and the employees out front. They were doing their best to keep us informed, and keep it orderly. They were working to make it smooth inside too. They allowed me to go in without having to wait in line, as I was just headed to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions. They were working with people to get through lines faster. They had a sign up front stating what they were out of, they were cycling people through the toilet paper and paper towel line, and trying to let people know to only walk one way. It's chaos and they're doing their best. Do we wish they had better signage indicating quantity limits? Yes. Do we wish it was not crazy like this in the first place? You betcha. But the employees are dealing with the crazies, the weirdos, the fanatics, the bossy, the anxious, the hoarders, the stressed, and the fearful, panicked public. They're doing their best. I swore I wouldn't go back after the whole covid thing with insane people buying up all the toilet paper, but I decided to go back. I've been there several times recently and the cashiers are all pissed off and rude. The last time I went there the cashier didn't even acknowledge me even though I said hello. He was too busy having a conversation with another employee. He just dragged the items across the scanner without even looking and then handed me my receipt without saying thank you or anything. I'm shocked because I hear they get paid pretty well for what they do. It's too crowded, the employees are rude and I don't need 30 cans of tunafish. The customer service at the pharmacy is atrocious. They were very rude and stern giving me a strong attitude. I meet with a dr who changed a prescription dose size and Costco is claiming I am playing with dosages. This is horrific to hear, as it was hard enough to seek help in the first place. Costco hearing department is the best. I knew I couldn't hear well, but put it off. Just got my aids today, helped by Liz. What a pro and made me feel at ease. Very knowledgeable and told me what I could expect. Opens a new world around me, not to mention lowering TV and asking people to repeat what they said. Got to love a good Costco, and this one is just a little better than "good"! I was a little surprised to see it not bustling with hundreds of shoppers, but not mad about it either. I had a very pleasant night grabbing some treats for a party I was attending as well as swallowing all of the samples entirely whole. I became BFFs with the sample ladies as I definitely, without shame or hesitation, looped around four times. There's just something about free chips and dip that I can't seem to get enough of. The employees were helpful, very friendly, and kind. The bathrooms were clean, which always goes a long way. The food court was delicious (tables are never wiped down, but what do you expect when people are cycling through so quickly?) And they had everything we needed. Buying in bulk is really the way to go #6CasesOfChickenStockOrBust. All in all, great location and a great place. Hit it up if you need 60 chocolate chip cookies or a cheap slice of pizza. This place has turned into a no go this year, their new management team is horrible. You can't do a return for your old grandparents even if you have your own membership. They are not nice except for Gary, the glorious pony tail man, Yonik and of course a handful of other people. I work in retail and I understand that it's hard with customers service but I swear people go out of their way to be rude and difficult here. This time I was doing Christmas returns bought within the month and the 30ish year old girl employee told me my return was going to take too long so I needed to figure it out myself on the app and step aside. I just can't with these employees I feel like I'm leaving crying more and more often. read more

I thought I was getting a deal on tires, but when I went to swap rims to my winter tires, I found that they tightened the lug nuts to well over 200 foot pound of torque. I could not budge a single lug nut using a very nice lug nut wrench. I tried to use a breaker bar to loosen them, but all I managed to do was bend my lug nut wrench. If I had been off road when I needed to swap tires due to a flat, I would have been begging AAA for an off road tow. I will never use CostCo's garage again. When they put the tires on the truck, they took twice the one and a half hours they quoted me to do the work. read more

Didn't know her name but she had a short blonde bob. The guy was middle aged with short hair at self checkout. Someone needs to get a hold of their employees and teach them to be kind to customers. Said employee told me I wasn't old enough to be there when (I am) and then continued to laugh when I said so. Always have a great experience here! The lines can sometimes get pretty long (but what can you expect, Costco lines are always long), but the employees are awesome and helpful. I went in today to get an air fryer that was on sale and to my disappointment there were none left. I wandered back to the front and happened to see an employee with TWO of the air fryers I had wanted in a cart and set them to the side. I asked her if they were up for grabs, she checked with her manager and said I could have both if I wanted I did only want one, but she was very kind and her timing was certainly impeccable as I was about to walk out of the store and then saw her. This Costco Wholesale location is conveniently located west of State Street, and east of I-15's 5300 So. freeway exit. Located in the heart of Murray. Very clean facility, kind and courteous employees. If you're not familiar with Costco, they have a wide selection of high quality food, books, videos, clothing, jewelry, electronics, appliances, pharmacy, optical, hearing aids, all at great prices. The great deals get even better with their monthly coupons. Midday they generally offer samples of national branded foods and various up-and-coming products. It's the perfect time to go if I have to bring my kids along. ;) Sometimes the lines are long, but it's really not bad because the cashiers are swift and efficient at checkout. LONG TIME COSTCO CUSTOMER AND I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM COSTCO EVER AGAIN!! I ordered a fridge from Costco Online and two sets of their delivery people (from the company RXO Last Mile) did not finish installing my new fridge and did not haul away my old fridge. After several attempts, numerous phone calls and emails later and two more sets of delivery people, they finally hauled away my old fridge and finished installing my new fridge. But not without causing damage to my wood floors and two internal doors. I filed a damage claim and an RXO representative, Daniel, was sent out to my home to look at the damage. He was so unprofessional, attacking and defensive that I finally asked him to leave my home. As a single woman, I felt extremely unsafe with him. After several emails and phone calls went unanswered, I finally received a letter yesterday that they are denying my claim because the damage to my wood floor in my hallway (I've never mentioned anything about my hallway) was pre existing. And no mention about the damage to both doors. read more

Costco is Costco no matter where you go. The offerings are generally pretty similar, although they differ by region (comparing what is for sale here vs another location in the Valley is silly). I tend to go to this location more often than others, I think just because I am most familiar with it (and the Salt Lake one is TOO BIG, it's overwhelming!). I was not impressed with the tire service at this location, and if you have to take a left turn to get in here good luck! I always take Vine and take a left onto State Street a little above the shopping center so I can take a right into Costco. Try this, you'll thank me. Still, I'm generally happy with this location, obviously, because I keep coming here. The employees are helpful (maybe a little less friendly than the Sandy location), and it generally has what I want. Costco in general is 5 stars, this one is 4 stars. This Costco is always packed, somehow it seems to have twice the foot traffic of other locations, easily! The parking lot is also a nightmare, it's quite small, parking spots appear smaller than they should be, and the drivers are always more clueless, rude, and aggressive, these same characteristics follows the shoppers into the store with their shopping cart skills. The carts aren't as new or recently refurbished, some of them are in pretty shabby shape with squeaky and sticky wheels. Aside from this chaos and intensity, this location is pretty on par with the rest of them. The staff is always helpful, and friendly. The selection tends to be a bit less than satisfying at times. Often a display will have been completely pillaged through, the entire lot will be gone, or there simply isn't the same selection other stores offer. This could be partly related to the packed and overcrowding of this store, as well as its somewhat central location. Of course, the prices are the same, along with the sale items. The food court is usually pretty over packed with multitudes of people standing around, clueless and often in the way, unaware and unconcerned about their blocking of an area, or being in your way. Although the food court itself runs pretty smoothly and I've never had an issue with them there. I usually shop at the Sandy or South Jordan location, and I've noticed this store seems to bring out the rudeness in people, or its just the mentality of clientele that gathers and shops here. As with all Costco stores, they have an amazing and very generous return policy. They welcome back broken/defective items, foods you don't like, unsatisfactory products, and often, they'll even refund you the price difference of something you bought that has since gone on sale (obviously within reason. It never ceases to amaze me how entitled and demanding some people can be). You don't even need your receipt most of the time, since your purchases are linked to your account and can be looked up with your membership card. Overall, I love Costco and their amazing service, but this location could use some revamping, more stock, better parking, and selection. read more

I love you Costco. LOL I may have a fewer number of siblings than your typical Polynesian family, but that doesn't mean my extended family members aren't a part of my life....and my house. That means my house should, considering I have the money to blow, stay stocked with the necessities to accomodate my family and friends: drinks, snacks of all kinds, home goods, etc. This particular location has friendly employees and are always stocked with carts, even on the busier days/times I can get a cart from the front without searching all over America for it.
