I have shopped at the online Sierra Trading post for years and am a loyal fan. Great prices and great products. This brick and mortar location though has been TERRIBLE to work with. I live out of state, but knew I would be in cottonwood heights for work so I placed two orders online for in store pickup here hoping to avoid shipping costs and get items faster. I went to pick up and was only given one of the orders. I didn't realize it till I was back home (in Idaho). I called in and after back and forth of them not finding the order then finally finding it, I was told it had been labeled under the wrong name. They said I could return it or they could hold it until I was back in town. I asked them to hold it since one of the items in the order was out of stock online and this was my only way to get the item. They said they could and I was grateful. A few weeks later the item I wanted - a specific pair of trail running shoes - was back in stock in my size online. I ordered them and just paid the shipping to my house so I could have them sooner. I called into the store to have the order on hold returned and the employee (Zeke) told me to call corporate customer service and that they could not help me with an order sitting in their store that I needed returned. I called corporate and they told me they couldn't help and the store would have to help. I called the store back and Bobby picked up. I tried explaining the situation to him and he frustratedly asked for "just an order number and name" so I gave them to him and he said he couldn't find the order. I reexplained the situation and asked again for him to check but under the other name the order was incorrectly placed under. He found the order in the back and then told me that they were too busy for him to return it and help me and said he would call me later and hung up hurriedly. That left me extremely frustrated but I decided to let it go and call on a different day and hopefully get a kinder employee. Bobby called me back 30ish minutes later and said that he returned the item. I asked for a receipt of return or some confirmation since this whole thing had been such a headache and I did not want to have another mess to figure out if my card was never credited back the money. He said he would sent it to me. I then got a text from his PERSONAL cell phone number with cell phone pictures of the order box and receipt including my name, phone number, and address. This has to violate like a million personal data privacy and GDPR laws. Needless to say I am never ordering to store at another brick and mortar Sierra store again, especially cottonwood heights.

I absolutely adore Sierra Trading Post and I've been an online customer for many years. This is a brick and mortar version of the online discounter and it's just okay. For starters, the physical store focuses on shoes, clothing, pet items and outdoorsy stuff. Online you can find an amazing selection of housewares, of which I saw none in the store. This is a great place to come to try on shoes or clothes, but I recommend you purchase them online instead of in store. Also, if you are an online shopper STP sends amazing coupon deals every week (sometimes twice a day)! This means that you'll get a far better deal and cheaper price if you order and ship online. You can order online and pick up at the store to save on shipping, which makes it an even better deal. I found the in-store prices to be a lot higher than online prices for the exact same item, so do your research. This new outpost is very clean and well organized. It's fully staffed with very friendly employees too. Everything about the shopping experience is great, I just wish the prices and deals were are amazing as they are on their website.

Last season's items, and discontinued sports attire. They have a small selection of footwear, backpacks and men's , woman's and kids clothing. I didn't find their prices were much of a discount, but I was able to find a pair of hiking pants I have been looking for. I stop in every now and again but nothing usually catches my eye due mainly for the high prices.

A great fitting pair of shoes is worth every penny! Reasonably priced with a huge selection of footwear not found elsewhere.

This is a fun place to explore…read more Love the Asian snacks, drinks, and different ramen options offered here. I bought a few things for a small gift basket that included some of the things I mentioned above. An $8 individual ceramic hot pot type bowl that you can heat directly on your stovetop. It had a beautiful cherry blossom design. I also got a chopsticks set, and bamboo hot pad for setting hot pots or pans on. The cashier was kind enough to open the box for me so I could inspect the hot pots for damage. As other people have mentioned, it's like an Asian version of our dollar tree store, only Daiso prices range from $2.25-$18. It's very organized and clean. They have so much variety from toys, to stationary, gardening items, organizing items, laundry items and so much more. It's definitely worth a visit to browse everything they have to offer.

This place is hard to…read morecategorize but I'd basically say it's like a Japanese Dollar Tree but with at least 5x as many items. There's tons of stationary items, lots of small storage, little cooking utensils, makeup brushes and bottles, they even had a section for fishing lures. The reason for knocking the star is that the closest comparison is Dollar Tree but it's more expensive. The cheapest items are $2.25, but they carry some of the same things as Dollar-Fifty-And-Up Tree like the same LA Awesome sprays and LA Looks makeup. Another example, I was admiring a small metal trinket tray that turned out to be $6 but only seemed of Dollar Tree quality. I curious what others think, totally worth a stroll if nothing else.

This Maxx has a bit more designer stuff than I've found at other locations, which makes this place even more dangerous and irresistible. If this TJM was a big sticky spiderweb, I'd be the big, dumb juicy bug tangled up in it using my dying breath to squeak out "please take my money, and hey, can I get this bag unlocked?" This location is always crowded. Everyone else seems to know how good it is, too. I struggle to find parking every time I visit. Worth it. But also TJM - I have a bone to pick with you - PLEASE STOP pushing your store credit card on me. This does not improve your customer service when some poor cashier that's working an exhausting holiday shift gives me some 2 minute speech about how great this thing is and I've just got to stand there with hopefully what looks like a smile on my face and pray they'll stop hounding me. Ugh. The thorn on the beautiful rose that is TJ Maxx...

I would rather drive 20 miles out of my way for a mall that has an abundant number of products and services I need to get stuff done. Luckily for me, The Shops at Fort Union are near me. Because of their location near the junction of Midvale, Cottonwood Heights, and Sandy, it's close to a heckuva lot of people in the SL Valley. The first thing I like is that it serves more a close-to-home crowd rather than the business lunch or general shopping crowd of say a Commons or The Shops at South Town. The tent pole store of The Shops at Fort Union is the Smith's: A tried-and-true grocery store with good prices and a stellar selection. The Commons and South Town don't. There's also a Walmart and -- at least very important to me -- is a Petco: toys, training, and grooming for my dogs. Obviously, food is important to us Yelpies! I find myself at Five Guys Burgers and Fries the most. There's also J Dawgs, Chick-Fil-A, Firehouse Subs, The Pie (the best pizza in town, and they deliver), Waffle Love, a Rumbi, Dickey's, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Teriyaki Express, Nagoya Sushi, Chili's, etc. There also several clothes-centric stores: Lane Bryant, Ross, Mr. Mac, Gordman's, and even DSW shoes. I could list places forever. My only beef is there is a complex right next to it with a Original Pancake House, a Wich Which, Coldstone, etc. that apparently aren't a part of the complex ... they aren't directly accessible and more of a pain to get to than they need to be. Overall though, a great place to shop!

The clothes here are cheap an not well made, I don't usually buy them. Thumbing through, I didn't see much of a selection - same with shoes and housewares, no great finds. This store is really messy and disorganized, even some of the shelving is crooked. I don't want to bother spending much time looking around here, it just stresses me out and makes me want to leave. There are clothes and shoes strewn everywhere. The dressing room area looks dirty (I didn't dare wander into the bathroom). There is always a line here, and to make it as frustrating as possible, they cattle-car you into this line/maze made of low shelving with even more crap in them - it's impossible to find where this line starts, and a pain in the ass the climb over, squeeze past, and wade through all the people and crap blocking your access to it. The staff here doesn't have the best customer service, but I will say I bet it's because they are pretty unhappy at work and might be a little more willing to look more cheerful and do a better job if the management of this store was better. Ultimately I found what I was looking for - a cheap pair of Christmas socks.
