We came here on a Sunday morning for bunch at Cheesecake Factory at 10 am. They had all the parking lots close to the stores blocked off with ropes & signs . We had to park quite a bit away & walk . We saw a worker taking down the signs & ropes once we got in front of Cheesecake Factory . We told him that was far to walk. He said sorry . Then we saw the signs no employee parking it's for customers only . They block off the areas so employees can't park up front which is fine but they should have the rope removed prior to 10 am when customers start arriving.

Madi was very helpful! She helped me with setting up an account and getting a new phone case for my iPhone 13 Pro Max! My number is on file if she wants to hit me up :)

I would always come to this mall every weekend with friends to hang out and chill. I haven't been back to this back for like 6 months now. Parking for this place is still crazy on weekends. If you want to park quick, you might need to park far. What surprise me about this place is the expansion they did. Macy's is back to fashion place and it looks like a lot of stores are expanding. They are even getting a forever 21. Brought your kids to go shopping, but they are too much to handle with all the stuff you want to buy? Well now there is an art store you can leave your kids for drawing lessons, while you shop. Now do remember when you are walking around don't make eye contact with the sales people. They are like vultures. They will pull you to them to show you their product and even make you try it. It's a lot of pressure to buy something you obviously don't need or want. The food court area here is pretty nice. Plenty of great food and also the cheap food court prices.

    Parking lot at Nordstrom's.

Great place to go shopping with a great variety of stores and eating options! They have been remodeling and opening a lot of great new places. Every time that I go, another great store or restaurant is popping up.

It wasn't to bad. Pretty crowded. But I guess that's a good thing for there stores. My daughters had a great time though.

Very clean and spacious mall. Good stores....a lot of parking. I especially like some of the more specialized shops they have here.

When does it open for early morning walkers? Actually they called me back and I found out that they open at 6:30 for walkers. :)

I believe by 9:30am. There are several people that do it too. They even leave their sweaters and jackets around, because all the walkers are regulars. :)

I would rather drive 20 miles out of my way for a mall that has an abundant number of products and services I need to get stuff done. Luckily for me, The Shops at Fort Union are near me. Because of their location near the junction of Midvale, Cottonwood Heights, and Sandy, it's close to a heckuva lot of people in the SL Valley. The first thing I like is that it serves more a close-to-home crowd rather than the business lunch or general shopping crowd of say a Commons or The Shops at South Town. The tent pole store of The Shops at Fort Union is the Smith's: A tried-and-true grocery store with good prices and a stellar selection. The Commons and South Town don't. There's also a Walmart and -- at least very important to me -- is a Petco: toys, training, and grooming for my dogs. Obviously, food is important to us Yelpies! I find myself at Five Guys Burgers and Fries the most. There's also J Dawgs, Chick-Fil-A, Firehouse Subs, The Pie (the best pizza in town, and they deliver), Waffle Love, a Rumbi, Dickey's, Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Teriyaki Express, Nagoya Sushi, Chili's, etc. There also several clothes-centric stores: Lane Bryant, Ross, Mr. Mac, Gordman's, and even DSW shoes. I could list places forever. My only beef is there is a complex right next to it with a Original Pancake House, a Wich Which, Coldstone, etc. that apparently aren't a part of the complex ... they aren't directly accessible and more of a pain to get to than they need to be. Overall though, a great place to shop!

I bought a few things for a small gift basket that included some of the things I mentioned above. An $8 individual ceramic hot pot type bowl that you can heat directly on your stovetop. It had a beautiful cherry blossom design. I also got a chopsticks set, and bamboo hot pad for setting hot pots or pans on. The cashier was kind enough to open the box for me so I could inspect the hot pots for damage. As other people have mentioned, it's like an Asian version of our dollar tree store, only Daiso prices range from $2.25-$18. It's very organized and clean. They have so much variety from toys, to stationary, gardening items, organizing items, laundry items and so much more. It's definitely worth a visit to browse everything they have to offer.

There's tons of stationary items, lots of small storage, little cooking utensils, makeup brushes and bottles, they even had a section for fishing lures. The reason for knocking the star is that the closest comparison is Dollar Tree but it's more expensive. The cheapest items are $2.25, but they carry some of the same things as Dollar-Fifty-And-Up Tree like the same LA Awesome sprays and LA Looks makeup. Another example, I was admiring a small metal trinket tray that turned out to be $6 but only seemed of Dollar Tree quality. I curious what others think, totally worth a stroll if nothing else.

It's not only a place that people come when they are hungry or running an errand, this place holds events occasionally too. The Farmer's Market is here in the summer and it's a fun, festive destination in the winter to see the twinkling lights and decorated store windows. The parking can get a little tricky if you want to park right outside the place you are visiting. But if you are willing to walk a little, there are plenty of spots just north and south of the main center area. My favorite part? The outdoor seating in the middle. Grab a snack and then sit at a table on a nice day and joy the shade of the trees.

You could argue that it's a strip mall of sorts, but that doesn't quite do justice to what's going on here. They're trying to be more thoughtful by creating community spaces, and when there's a library involved, you know it's not exactly a standard retail plaza. The thing that I appreciate most is that there's an effort (surely someone on staff?) to create events. I've attended the farmers market here a couple of times and enjoyed the small but lovely gathering of farmers and artisans. I had some friends sell there and they enjoyed the experience. I think this model of creating community in a space is great--probably it's not been as easy in COVID, but the last year has made me appreciate even more that there are spaces like this.
