This was my daughter's 3rd year attending breakfast with Santa and Gardner Village. This year my husband and I were also invited to the once tradition between our daughter and her grandmother. The servers and staff were welcoming, kind, and accommodating. They brought us pancakes without chocolate chips that we enjoyed so much. Santa's elf's were fun and upbeat. The space was cozy and my daughter loved the games and music. The snowball fight with Santa will be a core memory for me. We hope to return for years to come. read more

Gardner Village is a charming little community of unique businesses that are quaint and cottage-like in design. It feels very homey walking around here - there are interesting boutiques and shops, restaurants, a spa and salon, a photography studio, petting zoo, etc. It's a very interesting place, and as another review stated - it does feel quite like a little village when you're walking around it. We came here for Witchfest in October, and they definitely go all out for the holidays here! They had different themed witches throughout the village, discounts at participating stores, witch costumes and witch hats for sale, activities, real life witches to pose with, a small rides/carnival area for little kids, and a train that went around the whole village. I would highly recommend going to Witchfest during the week as opposed to the weekend. We went on the weekend and it was PACKED. It was an hour and a half wait for the train and it was crowded everywhere. We went to the kids carnival area, which was cute and was loved by the little ones, and luckily it wasn't too packed in there, although we still had to wait in a bit of a line to get in. Gardner Village has my heart. The quaint little village is full of gorgeous furniture stores, small boutique shops, restaurants and other locations like a day spa and escape room. I have purchased a lot there, especially the furniture and home decor stores. The quality is amazing. The ambiance in the village is off the charts. I come year round and ALWAYS love it! This was a fun place to visit! I hadn't heard of the village as I was visiting from out of town on convention so when I saw their freeway banner I had to investigate. They have a little train that will take you around on a trip on site. Super cute. And all these elves in different activities all over the village bringing Christmas alive. I loved each scene. We saw a gorgeous covered bridge and ducks fish swimming in the water below. I saw I lot of families stopping for family photos and selfies, I can totally understand why, the scene just exploded with winter and Christmas. I visited several stores, got books as gifts, some stickers from another store and chocolate from yet another. Their taffy was hand pulled and delicious. You should really try and stop here. While we were in Salt Lake City for a convention we drove around sight-seeing and shopping. Gardner Village was definitely a hidden gem that we discovered in nearby West Jordan. At first, you'd think it was just a custom-built little village of shops, but when you approach each individual business in the village you will see plaques on the old homesteads describing where and when they were built and when they were moved to their current location to become part of this retail community. Really liked reading about the history of the buildings. We loved just walking around and taking pictures of the village and the little displays for the holidays which were full of elves and silliness. We went into a few shops and purchased books, chocolates, 3-D symbol glasses, vinyl stickers, etc. Some for us and others for gifts with Christmas coming very soon. We are already looking forward to returning and eating at the regular restaurant by the road or at the magic dinner theater more toward the middle of the village. Both sound great. read more

this is a quaint village with several different shops, boutiques, and restaurants, they even have a cute little chocolate factory. We enjoy coming here on the holidays as they have it all lit up and Christmas music playing. there are several little elves all around the village and they even had a elf hunt so you can bring your little kids and do a elf hunt here. they have a QR code with a list of elves to find. It's pretty cool to see that several of the buildings are historic and have been relocated from different states and areas from an earlier time. My only complaint is the pockets of sewage oder in two different spots throughout the village and when you smell it, I mean you really smell it. I am not certain as to why this hasn't been fixed or given attention to. It does put a damper on such a lovely experience with lovely buildings, lights, ambience, music, activities.........and then there's sewage. read more

I came here twice during WitchFest in Fall 2022 and both times were very fun! A bit crowded on the weekend but not too terrible, and when we went back on a weekday afternoon it was fine. My daughter was 1.5 at the time and she loved riding the train, running around, and looking at the pumpkins. The Farm was very cute too! To be honest it isn't fancy -- you have to ask to pet certain animals, its not like a petting zoo pen with little animals running around. But your (very inexpensive) entry fee goes to a great cause, and she was little enough that she didn't really care about petting the animals, she just wanted to look at them. She did get to pet a rabbit though and a cute calf! We went into a few stores which were all very fun but didn't buy anything. I look forward to going back and taking her on the train again now that she is older. read more

There was plenty of parking and shops to look at. It seems there is some of everything. Chocolates and other candies, decor, dinner. Came during witchfest so not sure what it's like otherwise. Tons of families. Tons of kids. All food trucks were corn dogs - haha! For real! We went to one of the restaurants but it was a TWO HOUR wait so went downstairs not the Mexican place and ordered chips and guacamole which was decent but my Texas girlfriend was baffled we could only order a beer or margarita but not wine or liquor even though it was in front of us at the downstairs bar. We were told Utah law we would have had to be seated at the restaurant upstairs to have wine or a cocktail other than a margarita. Still don't understand that law! read more

I've watched Gardner Village evolve over the years-and it's been a fun transformation. It's a little village of shops, eateries and a petting zoo. Beware, you'll hear "this is cute" hundreds of times while you're here. It's scientifically proven to be the most used phrase on the premises. (That and any variation of reprimanding children to "come back here." From my observation, the majority of the clientele here are women. That may be due to the "cute" factor of the shops or the outdoor spaces that attract children. Either way, prepare to dodge strollers-especially during Witch Fest, when even more people than usual are out. The grounds here are beautiful-and many of the buildings are historic. That makes for great backdrops for photography. But if you are doing a photo shoot be sure to check out the guidelines, there is a fee for professional photography. Plan to spend an hour or a day-but be sure to give yourself time to browse the shops and the grounds. There's plenty to see and lots of walking to be done. And a surefire guarantee that you'll find something cute that you just have to have! read more

I attended Witchapalooza Dinner Theater at Gardner Village last Saturday. My 3 sisters came in from out of state specifically to attend the event. Two of them are vegetarian and ordered vegetarian meals (indicated as being available when we bought the tickets). To say the food was disappointing would be kind. It was unrecognizable except that it included the green beans and corn that was served with the turkey dinner. With tickets costing $50 each I feel whoever provided the food needs to try harder. Maybe Gardner Village only provided the venue for this event but it certainly reflects very poorly on them. read more

Yay Gardner Village!! It has been on my bucket list to go here during Halloween. I have seen how awesome it has looked in the past with pictures on the internet but this was my first time going for Halloween and boy I am so glad I went. One of the not so fun things about going is the huge crowd that was there. You were shoulder to shoulder with people, food trucks were insanely long, and the shops were almost impossible to browse because of how condensed it was. However, I can see why it is so busy; it is an awesome attraction!! They go all out on decorating. There is witches on bicycles higher up, there is pumpkins and lights everywhere. The experience was unlike anything I've had before & it literally felt like I was in a Disney Halloween movie. They had music and all kinds of photo ops. They had places to eat and all kinds of cute Halloween decorations and clothing. If you have not been to Gardner Village for Halloween, you are missing out!! I recommend paying a visit!! read more

I went during the Woodland Fairy Event on a weekday with a 6Y boy and 5Y girl. Both had an excellent time going around the village. It was a bit sad that there are far less/no scheduled activities during the week days compared to the weekend. We would have loved to participate in some of the fairy activities without having to come on a packed and crowded Saturday. In the end, we did the Fairy scavenger hunt while I "window-shopped". The Story Book Nook and the Naborhood bakery and cafe were our favorite. We found some fun activity books at the "Nook" and enjoyed a sweet treat at the cafe. The animal rescue "petting zoo" was actually pretty charming. It's not setup for show but for temporal care of abandoned animals. The petting zoo is quite messy and take great care to not wear nice shoes. The manager took us around a little and informed us about the horrible abuse some of the animals suffered. The kids learned a lot about mistreatment and abandonment of animals in the area. It was worth it for us. read more

My friend heard about the different fun stuff about this place and suggested for us to go. We went on a Saturday and it was packed with people. Parking is kinda hard to find, but you will eventually. We ended up parking on this grassy area. This place is definitely a nice place to go. It's like an outdoor mall with plenty of other things to do. All the stores here are selling a lot fun stuff. Plenty is for home decorations. There is a great bakery there, but when my friends and I went we were super full, so we didn't have room for dessert. If you want a sit down restaurant, they also has that as well. It's a great place for family fun, esp during Halloween and their witch event. One thing I was hoping for is a guest center or something. We saw a bunch of people running around with a piece of paper scavenging for clues and answer, but didn't know what was going on. The best thing about Gardner Village is their bike path along the Jordan River, but there are goatheads/puncture weeds that will shred your tires if you're not careful. Beautiful bridges and rest areas with benches. Naborhood Bakery has delicious sandwiches, soups and desserts. A good reward for biking there. I have been to many events at The Gathering Place. All were good experiences. My last visit here was mixed. Finding a parking spot on Halloween was difficult (they charge $5!). When I returned to my car after a few hours, it was covered in bird poop so I drove directly to a car wash. Lunch at Archibald's was fine. They removed the historic photos in the dining areas of Archibald Gardner's plural wives (two of them were my ancestors!). Then I browsed the home goods store, the Pine Needle quilting shop and Plum Dandy (women's fashions). There has been construction for months. I don't like parking my black car on gravel or having birds poop on it because then it needs to be cleaned. Outdoor shops can be tricky during the cold winter or hot summer days. read more

Gardner Village is a one-of-a-kind collection of unique shops near the Jordan River on 7800 South. Each shop is its own cabin or cottage, many of them historical buildings that have been relocated and repurposed for the cause. In a very real sense, this place feels like a little village with darling gardens and winding sidewalks that form a fascinating shopping experience. Gardner Village sits on the site of an old mill built by one Archibald Gardner. The mill wheel is still around, along with a pond that holds some giant carp. There's a little of everything to shop--art galleries, restaurants, candy stores, craft supplies, and plenty of mommy and me boutiques. The needle definitely points to cutesy and away from sleek and chic, with an occasional pull to the rustic. Scrapbooking moms unite, and you can write about it later in your blog. Lots of parking although it may not always be right where you want it, but that's the charm of walking around here and not pulling up to a strip mall and limiting your steps to less than 20 a day. Spend some time, support a lot of small local businesses and impress your lady by saying "this is cute" a few dozen times. Everybody wins. read more

Dogs are allowed but PLEASE make sure to follow the GV rules when you bring your furbaby.!it's a great place for training /desensitizing them. In the summer they have a scavenger hunt for fairies, they decorate the village so cute for this event. We will be back for the Elf Scavenger Hunt, the WitchFedt and more throughout the year. I love Gardner Village for its boutique shoppes and family friendly events. My only complaint is that it is at the opposite end of the valley and I wish they had a location north of Salt Lake. My favorite shoppes are the Chocolate Covered Wagon ans Willow Hill Yarn. I forget the name of the Art place, but they have the best gelato and we always stop in for some. My daughter loves the fairies in the summer and of course Witchfest. Definitely a fun family friendly place to spend a couple hours! read more

Gardner Village is the cutest, most magical place. Especially aRound Halloween Time. We have been to see the witch displays twice over the past couple years and have never been disappointed. The kids have so much fun frolicking around to find them. It feels like a mini Disney town and everything from the adorable boutiques to the cobblestone streets to the scrumptious snacks is a breath of fresh air. Pro tip : if you are going ONLY to see the witch displays with little kids - get there before opening time (around 9:30) to get front row parking and be the only ones there. You are free to roam before opening - just can't go into the stores and since all the witch displays are outside , the lack of crowds is a win in my book! read more

It's a fun place to walk around and take the kids. The witch theme in October is great - remember to dress up the kids or they might be sad seeing everyone else in costume. The farm petting area there is really cute and enjoyable for children. However, no covid precautions were being taken by the staff. None of the staff was wearing masks or attempting to distance. It didn't seem like they were limiting numbers inside the petting area either. It's very small and crowded and there were so many people in there on a Saturday afternoon that distancing was basically impossible. They do say customers are required to wear masks, but it didn't make sense to me why the staff wasn't, especially since they get up close to you. Overall, I would recommend walking around people watching and checking out the witch stuff in October, but if you are covid-cautious, you might want to skip the farm until the pandemic has settled. read more

This is a nice place to kill some time. We went on a Saturday during some sort of Fairy event so everything was themed and a lot of people were dressed as fairies. It was actually a little annoying for someone without kids and isn't into fairy stuff. It was definitely an event for kids but the village itself can be enjoyed by adults. There is a wide variety of cute shops to explore with shopping that'll keep you busy for hours. The only major disappointment was the "antique store." It was more like a thrift store with a small handful of actual antiques. I even saw a few things that I am 99.9% sure I saw at Hobby Lobby. I was also hoping that the Mill that they converted into a restaurant and store was still showing some of its history. Unfortunately, the only thing left that you could see was some equipment on the very top floor of the store. I would definitely check online to see what events are going on before going back. read more

They have the cutest boutiques from clothes, furniture, home decor, kids toys, bead shops, quilts, holiday gift shops, and antique shops you cant go wrong with trying their little village!! They also have a cute little petting zoo and ponies for kids to ride on. I bring my nieces to their fun little events they have such as their fairy tea parties, witches night out, and santas elves. They also have an amazing bakery and restaurant on site which you have to stop at. Archibalds is known for their bread pudding and carrot cake. Hands down delicious!! Also the "naborhood bakery" has delicious cookies and cinnamon rolls!! This is just a fun little village for all kindsa fun. Think of Gardner Village as a more homey and rustic version of an outdoor mall minus the nauseatingly trendy retail shops that are found everywhere else on the planet. It's also one of the most scenic spots and shopping venues in the Midvale area. A few things to consider: It's not open on Sunday (which is often when I want to visit, boo...). It's stuffed to the gills with mothers and little children. so while it may have some rustically romantic scenery, it may not be the sexiest of venues to get your mad makeout on. While it's market is probably more about good clean family fun Archibald's restaurant does serve BEER surprisingly enough so it's absolutely possible to have some good ole non-denominational fun here ;) There are some pretty cool photo ops here too! Especially during the Holidays so you can happily shutterbug. This place is just really charming and can be a lovely place to shop, eat, and just hang out for the saintly and nicely wild at heart alike :) read more
