I visited the Walmart in Goose Creek on September 5th around 2:15 pm Normally, I try to stay away from this location because it can be so busy, but I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience. I only needed to run in for some protein powder, so I stayed mainly around the pharmacy area. The store was clean, organized, and it looked like it had recently undergone a remodel or at least a partial remodel\. It looked very nice. Even though there were plenty of cars in the parking lot, the checkout area was surprisingly calm and there were no long lines. I used self checkout and accidentally scanned an item twice. The associate working the area noticed immediately, came over, removed the duplicate item, and had me on my way within seconds\. She was very helpful and attentive. Overall, this was a really good visit and definitely better than I expected. I may actually start shopping here again probably early Saturday mornings or Sunday mornings when it is hopefully a little quieter. Very pleasantly surprised with this visit! read more

One place that will always dominate any neighborhood is Walmart. A huge sprawling parking lot with enough space under one roof to get in a mile of walking, if one were so compelled. This brings me to Walmart in Goose Creek. Located in a safe albeit lonely part of town this place will have, most of what you want. First off the people walking around aren't very helpful. Even if you ask them where something is, they seem confused and it takes them forever to help. As for the food, it has what one has come to expect from Walmart, average products at a low cost however when it comes to fruit and veggies, the supply is somewhat limited and the fruit needs a lot of washing. In fact, I've stopped buying fruit b/c of all the flies that come home with it. Even washing it when I get home doesn't mean the flies are gone as they migrate before I can deal with them. The baked goods are average however please note if you buy the discounted perishable items, they go bad QUICK. I've also found they're limited in toys as I tried to purchase some items for my kids but they only have the absolute most popular items. So, if you want that GI Joe action figure, you won't find it here, or at least anything new. As for electronics, they have most of the newest gaming consoles, games and controllers however 4k media is limited, but that's a standard among all stores now as physical media continues to be replaced by inferior forms of content like streaming. Most items like pet food and accessories are in abundance, hardware and housing goods have most of what someone needs and the kitchen section has a lot of average equipment to great stuff depending on what you need. For example, the knife selection is horrible but mixers are just as good as anywhere else. I do all of my vitamin and specialty medicine (not prescription) from Walmart as it's the cheapest. Overall, Walmart is exactly what you expect anywhere and that's by design. The only real differences are subtle things that regionally might sell better at one place then another state won't offer a product as it won't make sense. Think of a heavy winter coat for sale in Texas - it isn't needed. Finally, Walmart is bringing back the cashier so the wait times may vary. The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service ever. As I type this I've been waiting for 2 hours and 15 minutes to pickup my grocery order. I received a message saying there was a two hour delay in my order so once the order ready message was received I headed up to the store Upon my arriving 19 of the 20 spots weee filled, number 11 was blocked off due to construction. I checked in on the app and then waited and waited and waited After three unanswered calls to the pickup line: 843-718-4173 also the number on the picture I went to the door to see what was going on Was told they were short handed which I can understand but make the effort to communicate this to the 19 people waiting and others that continue to pull into the pickup area Numerous cars left to then be replaced by other cars taking their spot to play the waiting game Once finally speaking to someone I asked what happens at 8 since that is the advertised closing time. The young man said I'm not sure, my shift is over at 8 and I'm leaving Thank you Wal-Mart for hiring such a standup staff to be the face of your customer experience. Awful experience with curbside pick up. Don't offer a service you can't fulfill. Arrived during my pickup window (10-11am) on a Tuesday. All 20 pick up spots are full and there were no employees even bringing out any orders. Several of us had to go to the pick up door and knock until someone came and took our names to bring out our orders. Still waited almost an hour for 2 bags that they listed as ready in the app. It's quicker to just go in yourself and shop, and they charge for this service! read more

Solely for the pickup. I moved here in January, and this is the closest Walmart so I picked it for a pickup. I gave myself ample time to grab my pickup and then head to my child's first gymnastics class. They took an hour to bring my order, we missed the class. I had a super bummed 5 year old. I decided a few months later to give them another try. It went better, only 20 or so minutes for them to bring it out. Still annoying but better than an hour. Today, I ordered one thing. A toy. It said it would be delivered by 10 PM. At 3:00 PM, I checked it and it said "out for delivery." At 3:30 PM it said "delivery attempted, returning item to store." For what? Because you didn't want to figure out which apartment to go to? These aren't numbered like typical apartments and it actually makes it easier. In 6 months of Instacarts and Doordashes, I've never had someone reach out saying they can't find me. So this driver was just lazy and inept. So I reached out to customer service and cancelled it and replaced the order along with 4 other things I thought of (3 of the 4 things were on the same aisle.) My order was set for pickup between 8:00 PM--9:00 PM. It's now 9:00 PM and it still says "Preparing order for pickup." This toy was for my 5 year olds birthday. Even if it's ready soon, it's raining now so I will have to get out in the rain. Thanks for disappointing my child twice in 6 months. It's safe to same I'm done with this location. I want to praise one of your managers, Jenny, on her Super-hero level of patience. I was at the customer service counter returning something and Jenny was helping a couple next to me who were berating her for not being able to return something bought at the River's Walmart. Even after explaining to them that they could return their item to the Rivers location and her not being able to change that fact. The female customer kept aggressively Karen'ing her and asking for the complaint number and what her name was. On a separate note: If someone makes a complaint or neg. review about Jenny and/or about not being able to return something. Those people were 100% in the wrong and deserve to have Bedbugs. Did a pickup order. Got there little after nine. This department DOES NOT answer the phone. 45 minutes later called the main store line and was transferred to the pickup area. Employee claiming to be manager said order would be right out. 20 minutes later called main store again transferred back to this department. Employee put down phone to bs with other employees picked phone up could make a coherent sentence still claiming to be manager yet couldn't give name nor transfer my call. Customer service refused to get store manager and hung up on me. All in all rude employees and took almost 2 hours to get my order. Management should be ashamed. I'm pretty frustrated with this Walmart Supercenter on 605 St. James. I placed a grocery order on Jan 25 to be delivered on Jan 26 around 6-7 PM; however, I never received my groceries. I reached out to customer service at 8 PM and they advised that the order was on the way. I waited until 10 PM before heading to bed and still no delivery. I reached out again to customer service on Jan 27 at Noon, but the representative could not get a hold of anyone at the store. I have been calling their store for the past hour attempting to get ANYONE on the phone, but no one picks up the phone and after 5 minute intervals, the call is just dropped - making you redial and go back through their automated system. Such a poor and failed system in place. Hire more employees to handle your work load. The lack of quality, service, and professionalism at this store is abysmal. I'd also like to say that this store definitely needs to improve on their stocking methods. I can't tell you how many times I place an order and half my order was removed because the items were out of stock. This store needs a new general manager at this location to overhaul new operations. This location is better than most in the Charleston Area that I have encountered. Ample parking, wide isles, lots of products, fast moving cashiers. We went here to shop a day before Hurricane Matthew was set to pounce on Charleston. While some of the shelves were bare, most were well stocked and we even saw a few trucks arriving outside with ice, water, bread, milk and other staples. There was order and calmness in the stores. The shoppers were well behaved ( although there are rude people everywhere and we did encounter some that just don't have the words "Excuse me" in their vocabulary ) and the floor help was helpful and pleasant. Good store to shop for last minute supplies in the event of inclement weather or an impending natural disaster. read more

While i"m not a fan of Wal-Mart in any way, shape, or form this location is a lot nicer than the other locations around town. We really like coming to this Wal-Mart over others that are closer to the house since it is less crowded, the staff is friendlier here, it is cleaner, and they usually keep it stocked up with what we need. The negatives are pretty much the same as all other Wal-Mart locations; crowded checkout lines due to them never staffing enough employees to run all the checkouts, buggies all in the parking lot, and self-checkouts usually break a lot to name a few. For 2 days in a row I called the store. When someone FINALLY answered, they transferred me and then then call continued to roll back to the operator and without asking and/or apologizing, re-transferred me again , again and again. This happened for 9 calls in a single day. I called again the following day and it started again. This time "Valerie" answered and told me the store manager working that day was John Britonham. I asked her if she would ask him to come to the phone. She placed me on hold and after 15 minutes I hung up. I still have not gotten my question answered. We had to wait 45 mins in line to get into a numbered parking spot. Now it's been over an hour and three people have been helped the entire time!!! EVERY time I get my car serviced here for the tire warranty, they take more than forever. I have to fight them on what's wrong with the defective tires (YES PLURAL) and then wait or come back the next day and WAIT for hours on end to get the tires replaced. Horrible customer service from the associates at the auto care desk. I've had MULTIPLE problems with over five tires from Walmart and can you imagine, the stress and time consuming plague I must go through to actually use the warranty I bought? From here on out, when it's time for new tires, I will be going next door to firestone from now on. Less time wasted, less stress, and they can actually FIX a problem instead of creating new ones! **EDIT** finally completes my service FOUR HOURS LATER and expected me to pay for warranty on the two tires that were replaced! I'm going to give Walmart five stars. Walmart always has everything stocked. I just recently started doing all of my grocery shopping here. I always had such a bad stigma about Walmart, but they truly have the best prices out of all of the grocery stores. If I need something special that I know Walmart doesn't carry I will go somewhere else but for99% of my grocery shopping this is where I go. They have a good selection of everything and I like how they separate their grocery section. My favorite aisle is the Hispanic I'll because I love all of the spices and different mixes of Spanish foods on the aisle. The bathrooms are clean but not extremely clean. But they are still usable! The only thing that I have to complain about is the customer service from the workers. I feel like they rather be somewhere else a lot of the time and they take their time helping you. I usually do self check out and if something is wrong they pretend like they don't see the light to come and help me. There are definitely better Walmarts, but most people know to go into Walmart with low expectations. Expect them to be slammed on Sunday's after church until closing time. Expect them to be slammed during evening rush hour and all day on Saturday. It's the nature of the beast. The waits at this Walmart aren't the worst I've experienced, but of course there are 40 lanes and only 10 of them are open. When self-check out has more than 1 employee working the area, it's a pretty efficient way to get out quick, especially if you aren't using cash. read more

I have shopped this store for years and the same problems plague this store: bathroom unclean or the one bathroom you pick is being "cleaned", never enough personnel to assist in the women's department, and not enough registers open for the amount of people checking out. They need to address the bathroom issues, especially the cleanliness, if they truly wanted customers to be happy they would install a hook on the back of the stall doors so that ladies could hang up their purse when using the facility. read more
