Childhood favorites mostly. Now I will cut to the chase. Whoever monitors and/or stocks this store's bread aisle needs some serious counseling. I'm normally a fanatic about looking at expiration dates although Publix has never let me down and I was in a bit of a hurry to avoid rush hour. I bought hot dog buns and slider buns. I got home and pan fried those dogs, opened the buns and have never been so disgusted in my life. EVERY SINGLE one was covered in mold.,Yes, a picture is coming. But I was hungry so I thought I'll just cut the dogs in half and use the slider buns. Good gracious, they were hard as rocks. Looked at the use by date and it said April 8, it was April 11. So the dogs were done and I was out of luck. Then I remember the tortillas I brought with me from my Publix in Florida. So I made it work. This will certainly never be my grocery store. Even when I went to check out, there was no one in the open lines. Finally someone showed up. And of course no one offered to help me with my groceries. I usually refuse, but my back had a little issue after lifting all those boxes. I made do. No, I did not go back to the store for a refund.,I just want that bread aisle individual to get some training. I don't make it that often, but I always enjoy the experience. From the flowers to the frozen food, to seasoning, to cheese, all the way to the employees in their floral shirts - it's usually a good time. The staff is fantastic, they have a great selection of items, and it just tastes good! The frozen butter chicken entree is my go to for "emergency meals" at work when I didn't have leftovers, etc. And what's even better - it doesn't taste like a frozen meal - it's just yummy! I must admit as a former chef then afterwards living in Kansas City and Austin TX for 25 years and frequenting large grocery stores with almost all of the things I've needed under one roof; I've been very disappointed with almost all the grocery stores here. So, after my mother convinced me to stop by Lowes I was pleasantly surprised with a chain that "gets it" here in town. Walking in I found the place to be extremely clean with some of the nicest employees I've come across since being back in town. Moreover, they're rather smart; strategically placing fresh baked focaccia bread close to the entrance, enticing one's stomach to influence the power of the purse. Next, I challenge anyone to resist their smoked foods as the air is heavy with the sweet perfume. Please note that Lowes carries a LOT of items customers will NOT find at other stores. From the towns best selection of cheeses, rack of lamb, watermelon radish and on the list continues, I encourage all those reading this to shop this store for those harder to find items. As for instore made items, I've tried a few and would like to report my limited findings. First, I bought a loaf of olive focaccia bread a noted weakness of mine. I found it be pillow-y moistness, bouncing back to the touch with a good fragrance however the amount of rosemary in it will repel even the most persistent of demons (odd refence). I bought another loaf of parmesan and I had the same issue, just way to rosemary which I happen to enjoy. I wish they had an alternative without the herb but other than that it's awesome. Another success in the bakery was the Bavarian donuts which I highly advise not buying as they're downright addictive. Soft, moist and a perfect chocolate to cream ratio these things are illegal in 5 surrounding counties! As for protein, I broke down and got the smoked chicken wings and macaroni salad for lunch. Again, this would be a resounding success if it weren't for one overwhelming ingredient; in this case salt. I'm of the belief they marinated these wings in the dead sea as it tasted as if the cap to the salt shaker fell off when seasoning these wings. Otherwise, these wings hit on all notes as they were moist and had the perfect amount of smoke. As for the mac salad, everyone has their version of what are perfect ingredients so I'll just add this, they perfectly cooked the pasta. That is to say the noodles weren't soggy or cooked to death; rather al dente which is perfect for the summertime favorite. As for addins I think they're ok but that's very subjective. Again, a certified hit. I did grab the sushi one day but I'm not a fan of grocery store sushi for the simple fact that the rice needs to be warm and the fish cold as it creates a contrast in the mouth. That said I got the fried shrimp sushi and it was just like any other store, not great. Nothing taken away as I realize most people are happy with this. My point is if I'm craving sushi a grocery store isn't the first thing that comes to mind as a true restaurant has better quality fish and a more diverse menu. To summarize Lowes is a great place to obtain those harder to find ingredients with the best in store created foods among all the competitors out there. The people here are very nice and willing to help however please note you'll need to obtain a card to get the discounts, the one down side of Lowes, is they're a little more expensive. However, "it's a small price to pay" for leveling up on the quality meter. This is my favorite grocery store in town and it's not even close.

I first…read morestarted coming here in 2025 mainly for the produce section and to escape the "egg price war" I was running into at other supermarkets. Over time, we began bringing home more and more of our groceries from here. At first, we were a little apprehensive since some products are sourced internationally and the flavors can differ slightly from what we were used to. However, we quickly grew to appreciate the quality and unique taste of many of the items. The produce is consistently the freshest in Goose Creek, and the organic meats are excellent. We especially enjoy the eggs, milk, butter, coffee creamers, gourmet cookies, and sliced cakes. The savings have been significant for our household. We used to spend around $800 a month on groceries for the 2 of us... and now we average between $350-$400 -- without sacrificing quality. The employees are polite, efficient, and almost always smiling. Sundays after church can feel a bit chaotic, but for the most part, the store is orderly and clean. The only consistently busy area is the seasonal aisle (Aisle 3 -- the famous "Aldi Finds" section), where everyone is searching for special deals. It looks like a tornado went through it. Lol. There were a few frozen meals we tried that didn't quite match the flavor of their American counterparts, but overall the quality of ingredients feels cleaner and less processed. The parking lot is usually full -- a testament to how popular this location is. It's well-lit, conveniently located off St. James Avenue and just a few blocks from Highway 52, and always buzzing with people coming and going. Overall, Aldi has become our go-to grocery store.
